NCT ID: NCT06059690 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Glioblastoma Multiforme

Biologic Association Between Metabolic Magnetic Resonance-positron Emission Tomograph (MR-PET) and Tissue Measures of Glycolysis in Brain Tumors of Infiltrating Glioblastoma Cells

Start date: September 6, 2023
Phase: Phase 1/Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this project is to validate a new combined MRI and PET imaging technique as a biomarker or measure of glycolysis in brain tumors. To accomplish this, the investigators propose obtaining image-guided measures of tissue pH and biopsied tissue in tumor areas selected for bulk resection surgery. Investigators will then correlate the imaging measurements with pH, RNA expression, protein expression, and bioenergetics measurements of key glycolytic enzymes.

NCT ID: NCT06059677 Recruiting - Driving Impaired Clinical Trials

Cannabis Consumption and Driving Impairment Assessment on a Closed Course

Start date: October 3, 2023
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

In a true experiment, roughly 300 volunteer participants will smoke active cannabis, a corresponding placebo, or no substance at all (control). Next, participants will complete a drive test and then be observed by actual California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers who will attempt to classify participants as impaired or unimpaired. CHP Officers will evaluate participants in the context of driving (i.e., while following participants in an actual patrol car), as part of a roadside behavioral assessment (i.e., the Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement, or ARIDE, battery, which includes Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, or SFSTs), and as part of a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) evaluation conducted indoors.

NCT ID: NCT06059664 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Kidney Transplant; Complications

The EFfect of FinErenone in Kidney TransplantiOn Recipients: The EFFEKTOR Study

Start date: March 1, 2024
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

EFFEKTOR is a vanguard, multicenter, phase 2 randomized, double blinded, placebo controlled clinical trial to determine the feasibility, tolerability, safety, and efficacy of finerenone in kidney transplant recipients (KTRs). One hundred fifty (150) KTRs will be randomized in a 2:1 ratio of finerenone to placebo, with two embedded substudies: (i) a kidney biopsy substudy in 50 participants who undergo a research kidney biopsy prior to randomization and at the end of active treatment; and (ii) a functional MRI (fMRI) substudy in 50 participants who undergo fMRI prior to randomization and at the end of active treatment.

NCT ID: NCT06059651 Recruiting - Obesity Clinical Trials

The Effects of Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery on Lipid Metabolism, Myeloid-Derived Suppressor Cells, and Cancer Cell Biology

Start date: January 1, 2024
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This study aims to determine the relationship between lipid kinetics changes and blood immunosuppressive cells by metabolic surgery in two patient cohorts.

NCT ID: NCT06059638 Recruiting - Hypertension Clinical Trials

BradycArdia paCemaKer With AV Interval Modulation for Blood prEssure treAtmenT

BACKBEAT
Start date: December 27, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

A prospective, multinational, randomized, double-blind, clinical trial evaluating the safety and effectiveness of a novel atrioventricular interval modulation (AVIM) algorithm downloaded into a previously implanted dual-chamber Medtronic Astra/Azure DR MRI IPG.

NCT ID: NCT06059586 Recruiting - Sexual Dysfunction Clinical Trials

Pre-Rehabilitation for Female Patients Undergoing Pelvic Radiotherapy

Start date: January 16, 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to examine the feasibility of adding pre-rehabilitation pelvic health physical therapy to standard of care radiation therapy treatment plan for female patients who have been diagnosed with cervical, vaginal, vulvar, uterine, or anal cancer and are a candidate for curative pelvic radiation with external beam. Participants will receive education on using a vaginal dilator for use during treatment and complete questionnaires looking at pain and sexual function.

NCT ID: NCT06059443 Recruiting - HIV Infections Clinical Trials

mLab App Plus: A Randomized Controlled Trial of a Mobile Health (mHealth) Intervention

Start date: October 17, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Men who have sex with men (MSM), especially young men who have sex with men (YMSM), and transgender women (TGW) have some of the highest rates of HIV and syphilis diagnoses in the United States. The goal of this study is to pilot the mobile Lab (mLab) App Plus to assess YMSM's and YTGW's abilities to perform and interpret self-tests for HIV and syphilis and consequently increase the number of YMSM and young transgender woman (YTGW) who initiate self-testing for HIV and syphilis.

NCT ID: NCT06059417 Completed - Clinical trials for Dermatologic Conditions

Foam Tape Allergy a Sticky Situation

Start date: August 1, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Foam tape is commonly used in the emergency department as a dressing over chest tubes owing to its occlusive and compressible properties. There is a paucity of data regarding the incidence of significant cutaneous reactions to this material. We conducted a prospective trial to evaluate the incidence of dermatitis following application of foam tape to the upper arm of a cohort of healthy volunteers.

NCT ID: NCT06059404 Active, not recruiting - Diabetes Mellitus Clinical Trials

Tailoring OT and RD Services for Home-delivered Meal Clients

SixtyPLUS
Start date: September 20, 2023
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

This is a single-blinded, four-arm randomized controlled trial that will compare health outcomes of home-delivered meal clients. The purpose of this pilot study is to explore which service model is most effective for improving nutritional status, disease management, fall risk, and adherence to meal recommendations. Participants will be randomized into one of four study arms: In Arm 1: clients will receive home-delivered meals and basic nutrition education and fall prevention education. In Arm 2: clients will receive home-delivered meals plus dietitian services. In Arm 3: clients will receive home-delivered meals plus occupational therapy services. In Arm 4: clients will receive home-delivered meals plus dietitian and occupational therapy services. Outcomes will be assessed at baseline and at 3-month follow-up.

NCT ID: NCT06059391 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Acute Myeloid Leukemia

CMV-MVA Triplex Vaccination in HLA-Matched Related Stem Cell Donors for the Prevention of CMV Infection in Patients Undergoing Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant

Start date: August 30, 2024
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This phase II clinical trial tests how well the cytomegalovirus-modified vaccinica Ankara (CMV-MVA) Triplex vaccine given to human leukocyte antigens (HLA) matched related stem cell donors works to prevent cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection in patients undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplant. The CMV-MVA Triplex vaccine works by causing an immune response in the donors body to the CMV virus, creating immunity to it. The donor then passes that immunity on to the patient upon receiving the stem cell transplant. Giving the CMV-MVA triplex vaccine to donors may help prevent CMV infection of patients undergoing stem cell transplantation.
