NCT ID: NCT05853068 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Acute Hypoxemic Respiratory Failure

Assessment of PaO2/FiO2 Ratio Pre and POst INTubation

APPOINT
Start date: April 29, 2023
Phase:
Study type: Observational

We designed this study to dtermine whether invasive mechanical ventilation (MV) would have an impact on the reclassification of patients with acute hypoxemic respiratory failure (AHRF) -treated previously with non-invasive respiratory support- into categories of severity (mild, moderate, and severe). Our hypothesis is that the assessment of PaO2/FiO2 ratio on PEEP greater or equal to 5 cmH2O after intubation, in patients labeled as mild/moderate/severe AHRF while on non-invasive respiratory support, would identify that a marked proportion of patients would change the degree of severity after a brief period of invasive MV

NCT ID: NCT05853042 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Acute Coronary Syndrome

MERITnI - Mindray-hs-cTnI Assay: Analytical and Clinical Evaluation for the Diagnosis and RIsk AssessmenT of Myocardial InfarctIon.

MERITnI
Start date: December 12, 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The Mindray High Sensitivity Troponin-I Measurement System is an in vitro diagnostic test for the quantitative determination of high sensitivity cardiac troponin I (hs-cTnI) in human serum or plasma. The Mindray High Sensitivity Troponin-I Measurement System is to be used as an aid in the diagnosis and rule out of acute myocardial infarction (AMI).

NCT ID: NCT05851937 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Intellectual Disability

Written Language Intervention for Adults With Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities

Start date: May 1, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effects of a written language intervention using functional texts for young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

NCT ID: NCT05851586 Active, not recruiting - Pain Clinical Trials

Physical Therapy Intervention in Dental Students

Start date: September 1, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The main purpose of our study is to assess whether guided strength training and stretching intervention with a written home exercise program is more effective than a home exercise program alone for pre-clinical dental students in improving and preventing pain associated with dental laboratory practice. Secondary aims will be to assess relationships between strength and quality of life measures of an individual and pain levels.

NCT ID: NCT05851144 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Health-Related Behavior

South Texas Early Prevention Studies SNAP-Ed (STEPS SNAP-Ed)

STEPSSNAP-Ed
Start date: August 31, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The "South Texas Early Prevention Studies Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program-Education" (STEPS SNAP-Ed) is a project designed to control and prevent obesity rates in South Texas children. The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) was awarded funding from the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) to provide behaviorally focused, evidence-based nutrition education and obesity prevention interventions to serve the South Texas SNAP-Ed target audience. The SNAP-Ed target audience are SNAP-Ed recipients, SNAP eligible, communities with ≥50% low-income, schools where ≥50% of children are on free and reduced meals, and those on Medicaid. Specifically, the STEPS SNAP-Ed Project will engage parents, school staff, hospital staff and community members to make healthier food choices available and encourage physical activity to control and prevent obesity in preschool children. The STEPS SNAP-Ed Project is a collaborative effort among a university, two school districts, and a hospital system in the Rio Grande Valley.

NCT ID: NCT05850754 Active, not recruiting - Healthy Clinical Trials

4 Week Veterans Cannabidiol Intervention

Start date: May 1, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Cannabidiol (CBD), a non-psychoactive hemp derivative, is an attractive therapeutic agent, and is most supported by the scientific community as an antiepileptic. Additionally, CBD is also associated with claims related to improvements in overall health, pain, anxiety, depression, and sleep; however, the scientific evidence is lacking. The overarching goal of this investigation is to determine the effects of a 4-week CBD intervention on measures of overall health, pain, anxiety, depression, and sleep in a population of US veterans. Primary aims will explore the effects of 4 weeks of CBD on pain, anxiety, and depression. Secondary aims will determine whether 4 weeks of CBD will affect general measures of overall health and sleep.

NCT ID: NCT05850390 Active, not recruiting - Asthma Clinical Trials

Real-time Remote Asthma Monitoring Through Smartphone Voice Analysis

Start date: December 14, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This study examines the impact of home-based monitoring of respiratory function in asthma patients via a smartphone-based vocal biomarker platform. Previous work from cross-sectional studies has indicated that brief voice samples, analyzed by machine learning models, can predict the presence of respiratory conditions (asthma, COPD, ILD, COVID-19 and persistent cough) with an accuracy of approximately 70%. The present study seeks to extend these findings to establish whether the same vocal biomarker models can accurately track changes in respiratory function in asthma patients, and whether this capability, when incorporated into a smartphone app similar to those used for home-based asthma management, can improve relative level of asthma control.

NCT ID: NCT05849922 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Hidradenitis Suppurativa

A Study to Test the Efficacy and Safety of SAR442970 in Adults With Hidradenitis Suppurativa

HS OBTAIN
Start date: June 6, 2023
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This is a Phase 2 study in adult participants with moderate to severe hidradenitis suppurativa (HS). The purpose of the study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of SAR442970 compared to placebo.

NCT ID: NCT05847686 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Metastatic Malignant Solid Neoplasm

Psilocybin-Assisted Therapy for the Treatment of Cancer-Related Anxiety in Patients With Metastatic Cancer

Start date: June 27, 2023
Phase: Phase 1/Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This phase I/II trial tests the safety and side effects of psilocybin in combination with therapy for the treatment of patients with metastatic cancer and symptoms of anxiety and/or depression. Psilocybin is a substance being studied in conjunction with therapy for the treatment of anxiety and depression in patients with cancer. In this study, the psilocybin being used is derived from the mushroom psilocybe cubensis using a patented process that results in a pharmaceutical grade version of psilocybin. Psilocybin acts by activating serotonin receptors on brain cells which can change perceptions and patterns of thinking in ways that may decrease anxiety.

NCT ID: NCT05847673 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Cigarette Smoking-Related Carcinoma

Avatar-Led Digital Therapeutic for Aiding Smoking Cessation in Sexual and Gender Minority Young Adults

Start date: August 20, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This trial assesses the acceptability and preliminary efficacy of Empowered, Queer, Quitting, and Living (EQQUAL) smoking-cessation intervention for sexual and gender minority young adult smokers. The prevalence of tobacco use among sexual and gender minority (SGM) young adults is more than twice as high as non-SGM young adults, suggesting that existing SGM-related disparities in tobacco use will persist well into the foreseeable future unless sustained efforts are undertaken to address them. EQQUAL is an online smoking cessation intervention designed specifically for SGM young adult smokers, and may help them quit smoking.
