NCT ID: NCT06148480 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Multi-antibiotic Resistance

Perinatal Transmission of MDR Bacteria

ACQUIRE
Start date: July 17, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

We aim to conduct a prospective surveillance study of mothers and their infants born vaginally or by scheduled C-section and who are admitted to Northwestern Medicine Prentice Women's Hospital to determine the prevalence of ESBL-E carriage in healthy post-partum women and the transmission rate of these strains to their infants. Using whole genome sequencing and a comparative genomics approach we will determine the relatedness of strains among mother-infant dyads as well as identify genetic regions common to transmitted strains. We hypothesize that; 1) given the diverse population of Chicago there will be a significant rate of gut colonization with ESBL-E among mothers admitted to Prentice, 2) ESBL-E strains isolated from neonates will be identical to those from their mothers and 3) genetic determinants of transmission are conserved across ESBL E. coli strains that are perinatally transmitted. These hypotheses will be tested using the following Aims: Aim 1: Determine the prevalence of ESBL-E gut colonization and rate of perinatal transmission among mother-infant dyads Aim 2: Identify genetic determinants of transmission common to ESBL E. coli that are perinatally transmitted. Our long-term goal is to understand the unique features of persistent gut and vaginal ESBL-E colonizers and identify genetic and molecular elements that could be attractive therapeutic targets to decrease the burden of ESBL-E colonization and perinatal transmission.

NCT ID: NCT06148337 Active, not recruiting - Skin Elasticity Clinical Trials

Eggshell Membrane Beauty From Within Trial

Start date: December 27, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study is intended to evaluate the efficacy of oral supplementation of an unhydrolyzed eggshell membrane ingredient (uESM) vs placebo on both objective and subjective markers of skin aging in middle-aged and senior adults using the Cutometer® MPA 580 multi-probe system along with specially designed subject questionnaires. Secondary objectives will be to assess the benefits of uESM on the health of hair and fingernails based on a subject questionnaire.

NCT ID: NCT06148324 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Traumatic Brain Injury

MENTOR Wellness Program

Start date: April 11, 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This randomized trial aims to determine the effectiveness a virtual wellness intervention program in individuals with traumatic brain injury (TBI). Participants will be randomized at enrollment into two groups: immediate treatment (IT) and delayed treatment (DT) group. This study will also provide insights into the impact of these intervention's components in helping emotional, physical, and nutritional outcomes post-injury in the context of social determinants of health (SDOH).

NCT ID: NCT06148311 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Familial Dysautonomia

Dexmedetomidine Sublingual Film for the Ambulatory Treatment of Hyperadrenergic Autonomic Crisis in Patients With Familial Dysautonomia

Start date: April 1, 2024
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this placebo controlled interventional study is to collect preliminary data on administering dexmedetomidine in patients with Familial Dysautonomia (FD) during a rapid cessation of autonomic crisis. The primary aims are to assess the feasibility and evaluate if measurements of heart rate, blood pressure and oxygen saturation can predict the start of an autonomic crisis.

NCT ID: NCT06148298 Recruiting - Cancer of Pancreas Clinical Trials

Cell-Free DNA Chromatin Immunoprecipitation (ChIP) for Diagnosing Cancer

Start date: May 24, 2023
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The goal of this research is to use chromatin immunoprecipitation, a method used to study protein-DNA interaction, as a tool to diagnose and prognose pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma in human samples. This is a Non-Human Subject Research study. All participants are de-identified.

NCT ID: NCT06148285 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Acute Ischemic Stroke

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy in Acute Ischemic Stroke Ischemic Stroke Recovery (Pro00061930)

Start date: May 24, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study will critically examine the feasibility, safety and efficacy of HBOT during inpatient rehabilitation (IPR) after acute ischemic stroke measured by non-disruption of 3 hours of daily therapy, frequency of neurological deterioration or complications (seizure, hemorrhage, brain edema), and functional communication, activities of daily living (ADLs) and mobility.

NCT ID: NCT06148272 Recruiting - Healthy Clinical Trials

A Study of LY3971297 in Healthy Participants and Participants With Obesity and Hypertension

Start date: December 7, 2023
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to measure side effects of LY3971297 injection administered under the skin in healthy participants and obese participants with high blood pressure (BP). Blood tests will be performed to check how much LY3971297 gets into the bloodstream and how long it takes the body to eliminate it. This is a 5-part study. The study duration will be approximately 60 days for Part A and approximately 90 days for Parts B, C, D, and E.

NCT ID: NCT06148246 Recruiting - Physical Inactivity Clinical Trials

Family Fit Iterative App Development

Start date: January 18, 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The overall aim of this study is to test the acceptability and usability of a mobile application (app) for family-based physical activity and weight gain prevention among parent/guardian and child (ages 9-12 years) dyads.

NCT ID: NCT06148181 Active, not recruiting - Healthy Volunteers Clinical Trials

A Study to Evaluate Adverse Events and How Single Ascending Doses of ABBV-141 Move Through the Body of Healthy Adult Western and Asian Participants

Start date: January 29, 2024
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to assess the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics (PK) and immunogenicity after single ascending doses (SAD) of ABBV-141 in healthy adult Western and Asian participants.

NCT ID: NCT06147999 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Brain Disorders - Alzheimer's Disease, Dementia, Parkinson's Disease, Traumatic Brain Injury

Impact of a Biophoton Therapy on Patients With Brain Disorders

Alzheimer
Start date: November 8, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Previous clinical studies revealed that the newly developed biophoton therapy has been safe and effective in treating patients with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, stroke, traumatic brain injury, or Parkinson's disease. The current study is to confirm the previous clinical observation by conducting as a randomized, triple-blinded, placebo-controlled prospective intervention clinical research. About 80 patients with brain disorder (Alzheimer's disease, dementia, stroke, traumatic brain injury, Parkinson's disease) will participate in the intervention clinical study at the Tesla MedBed Center located in Butler, PA.
