The purpose of this study is to gather information on the effectiveness of a home-based rehabilitation program that also includes health coaching in patients who may suffer from post-intensive care syndrome (PICS). Many patients who are admitted to a hospital ICU suffer from new or worsening symptoms related to their medical condition and ICU care. These new or worsening symptoms may persist for some time and are collectively called post-intensive care syndrome (PICS).

Robotic Balance Training to Improve Postural Control and Balance Post-Traumatic Brain Injury

The purpose of this study is to assess a balance training program to see if it can be helpful to improve balance and avoid falls in people who have had traumatic brain injuries (TBIs). The study will involve three groups of research subjects: 1) TBI-intervention group, 2) TBI- non-intervention group and 3) the participants without disability group. The TBI intervention Group will participate in 10 robotic balance training sessions. Data will collected pre and post-training. TBI- non-intervention group will not receive any training. They will participate in two data collection sessions which are about 5 weeks apart. The participants without disability group will not receive any training. They will participate in one data collection session.

Home-Based Social Skills Intervention for Young Children With Developmental Delays

The goal of this clinical trial is to learn about how parent training can be used to teach a social skills intervention for their young child with developmental delays. Video modeling is a type of technology based intervention that teaches new skills using videos of someone acting out the behavior. The main questions it aims to answer are: - How well do the parent training procedures teach parents all the steps for using video modeling as a social skills intervention? - Do the children with developmental delays play and communicate more with their parents after the parent uses video modeling as a social skills intervention? Parent participants will be asked to participate in 3 interviews 30 min to 1 hour each, 2 in-home sessions 1 ½ to 2 hours each, 30 min Zoom sessions 2-3 times per week for 2-5 months Child participants will participate in 2 in-home sessions 1 ½ to 2 hours each and 30 min Zoom sessions 2-3 times per week for 2-5 months The time commitment is in ideal conditions, but will be impacted by other participants and parent schedules. The family will be committing to approximately 2-5 hours per week for 2-5 months. Sessions may occur as few as 0 or as many as 5 times per week. The hypothesis is that the parent training will teach parents all the steps to use video modeling intervention in their home with their young child with a disability. The second hypothesis is that the child with a disability will learn new social skills to play and communicate better in their home with their parent after watching the video models.

Knee osteoarthritis is an extremely common and debilitating condition, more common in women, with an estimated global prevalence of 16%, and as high as 50% by the age of 80. Current management of knee osteoarthritis (OA) revolves around conservative treatments- biomechanical interventions, intra-articular injections, exercise, self-management and education, oral or topical medications, strength training, and weight management - or surgical management. For injection therapies, corticosteroids remain the standard of care; approximately 84% of sports medicine physicians perform these knee injections at least monthly, reporting a median range of 11-20 injections per month. Multiple detrimental effects of corticosteroid injections are well-known, including alterations of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis, blood glucose levels, bone turnover, inflammatory response, blood pressure, and psychologic well-being. Thus, alternative therapies are of the utmost importance. Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is an injectable preparation of a patient's blood that can be used for numerous conditions and has received significant attention over the past several years for its potential application for the treatment of pain and functional impairment due to knee OA. Systematic reviews of randomized-controlled trials have demonstrated equivalent-to-superior treatment outcomes associated with the use of intra-articular PRP compared to placebo, hyaluronic acid, and corticosteroid. Furthermore, use of intra-articular PRP is associated with a very low rate of adverse events and is likely safer than injectable corticosteroids. Concerns that have limited a wider use of PRP include two main concerns - an uncertainty regarding the current evidence base due to study-related bias, heterogeneity, and lack of reporting standards; and second, more importantly, the main issue remains high cost.
