There are about 173942 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in United States. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The primary objectives of this study are to evaluate the safety and tolerability of the pneumococcal 21 valent conjugate vaccine (V116), and to evaluate the serotype-specific opsonophagocytic activity (OPA) post-vaccination with V116 and PCV15 (a pneumococcal conjugate vaccine that includes 15 serotypes) + PPSV23 (comprised of the polysaccharides from 23 of the serotypes causing disease in adults) post-vaccination. within each vaccination group separately.
This project is a single-arm pilot trial to investigate the feasibility, acceptability, and plausible efficacy of a 16-week resistance exercise training (RET) program for treatment of major depressive disorder.
This project is part of the NIH Helping to End Addiction Long-term (HEAL) initiative (https://heal.nih.gov/). This pilot randomized controlled trial (RCT) is part of phase 1 of a two-phase, 5-year project with the overarching goal of testing a decision aid (DA)/coaching intervention, tailored to Black patients with comorbid chronic pain and depression, to encourage use of and adherence to nonpharmacological pain treatments (NPTs). This 2-arm pilot trial will aim to enroll up to 40 Black patients with comorbid chronic musculoskeletal pain and depression in primary care from an urban safety-net health system with the end goal of at least 30 patients completing the trial. After the baseline assessment, patients randomized to the intervention will be asked to participate in 4 coaching sessions over approximately 12 weeks. Sessions will use Motivational Interviewing principles to foster openness to NPTs and self-efficacy by helping patients identify their goals and priorities, understand their NPT options, prepare them to discuss and choose options with their primary care providers (PCPs), and reinforce these choices to foster maintenance of these changes. DA contents will be integrated into these sessions, which will facilitate discussion of these options with their PCP. The first 3 sessions take place prior to the patient's next scheduled PCP visit; the final session occurs after this visit. Assessments will be conducted at baseline, 3 months (i.e., after completing the final coaching session), and 6 months. Patients randomized to the wait-list control group will receive usual care (in addition to study assessments at baseline, 3 months, and 6 months). After completing the final assessment, they will then be given the DA along with a 20-minute coaching session to walk them through it (patients may decline the coaching session or schedule for a future time).
The purpose of this research study is to evaluate the functionality of the IV SafeLock in the clinical emergency department setting.
The goal of this randomized pilot clinical trial is to describe the feasibility of a couple-based lifestyle intervention and the study protocol in preparation for a future definitive randomized clinical trial. Participants include individuals at risk for type 2 diabetes and their romantic partners. The main objectives are: 1. To describe the feasibility of the couple-based intervention. 2. To describe the feasibility of the study protocol for use in a definitive trial. Participating couples will be randomized to one of two year-long lifestyle intervention conditions: an individual curriculum or a couple-based curriculum. Participants will complete assessments before and after the year-long intervention, as well as monthly during the intervention. Data will be collected on: feasibility, background, health behaviors, physical and mental health, and relationship functioning.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the potential for cytochrome P450 (CYP) 3A4 induction after dosing with INDV-2000 via use of midazolam as a probe.
This research proposal aims to investigate the potential use of Infrared (FLIR) imaging to monitor the successful achievement of the sympathetic blockade in patients with complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS).
Clinical evaluation of the accuracy of SpO2 measurements with the ANNE Limb Sensor compared to blood gas analysis in healthy, adult subjects. Hypoxia is induced in patients to different and stable levels of SaO2 over the range of 70-100%.
The overall objective of this program of research is to improve sexual health outcomes for women diagnosed with breast cancer. Our team is developing a multi-component intervention for the four key predictors of sexual health in female cancer survivors: self-image, vulvovaginal tissue quality and symptoms, desire/energy, and relationship-partner concerns. This proposal begins the proof-of-concept pilot study in women with a history of breast cancer to deliver a multi-component intervention to improve vulvo-vaginal atrophy with a vaginal moisturizer, and sexual energy and self-image with a mind-body intervention that involves relaxation and subconscious suggestions with a hypnotic induction delivered via audio file. The primary outcome will be to evaluate the feasibility and acceptability of a multi-component intervention for sexual function. It is hypothesized that at least eighty percent of randomized participants will complete the study without differential withdraws from the control group.
This is a drug-drug interaction study in volunteers to evaluate the effect of ritonavir or cobicistat on the pharmacokinetics (PK) of PBI-200.
