There are about 173942 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in United States. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
To assess if the Alcon Argos Biometer utilizing the Barrett Universal II formula for IOL calculations can give a non-inferior outcome when compared to the Zeiss IOL master 700 utilizing the (PCA) with the Barrett Universal II (TK) formula, when comparing the (mean absolute prediction error of the predicted target spherical equivalencies).
The Novapak study is a prospective, observational, multi-site, non-controlled, non-randomized, case-series, with a 2 week and 1-month follow-up in adults undergoing nasal/sinus surgery with Novapak Nasal Sinus Packing and Stent device used as indicated post-operatively and is being conducted to obtain clinical data on the safety and effectiveness of the Novapak device under use as intended in the device indications.
With funding through the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Tufts University's Telehealth Intervention Strategies for WIC (THIS-WIC), Michigan's (MI) WIC department will pilot telehealth opportunities as a means of delivering services to WIC Clients. This video conferencing pilot looks to improve and/or remove barriers. Implementing a pilot program in select local agencies to utilize technology would allow clients to connect with a WIC Registered Dietitian (RD) or an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). Videoconferencing could open new opportunities for leveraging the extensive expertise of the nutrition and lactation workforce in WIC agencies to address rural and remote locations and travel considerations. The purpose of this study will be to evaluate the effectiveness of this telehealth solution.
The purpose of this study is to construct the first nurse-led web-based intervention, The TALK, a parent-centered, adolescent-involved health promotion intervention for Black male adolescents and young adults (AYA). Through the use of entertainment videos and educational modules, investigators will provide parents with resources and tools for communicating with their adolescents about sexual health and experiences of racial discrimination, and how these experiences impact sexual health.
This study will take place at one outpatient clinic serving adults with serious mental illness and will recruit ten individuals (N=10) with a DSM-5 diagnosis of schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder to participate in an Open Trial of Motivation Skills Training (MST). MST is a weekly group-based skills training intervention that aims to improve knowledge about one's level and sources of motivation, the ability to monitor and regulate (understand and manage) motivation, so that one can better initiate and sustain goal-directed behavior. Participants who consent for research will complete assessments of motivation, goal attainment, quality of life, executive functioning, community functioning, and psychiatric symptoms severity. The intervention phase will be approximately 12 weeks in duration and will entail weekly MST group sessions. At treatment endpoint, participants will be asked to repeat the assessment battery from baseline as well as a satisfaction survey. Change in motivation, goal attainment and quality of life will indicate whether MST is engaging the hypothesized target (motivation) and whether there is impact on functioning.
This study uses a multiple-baseline design and aims to replicate findings that a digital music-based mindfulness intervention can reduce elevated race-based state anxiety in Black Americans.
The goal of this clinical trial is to determine the effects of creatine monohydrate and resistance training on lean mass, sleep, muscular strength, and perceived menstrual cycle symptoms in untrained premenopausal females. The main questions it aims to answer are: 1) Does creatine monohydrate supplementation improve body composition, muscular strength, and sleep? 2) Does creatine monohydrate decrease perceived menstrual cycle symptoms compared to a placebo control? Participants will be asked to consume creatine monohydrate daily for 42 consecutive days and well as perform a daily ovulation test. Pre and post testing will include assessments of urine specific gravity to determine hydration status, body composition testing, muscular strength testing and questionnaires. Researchers will compare creatine monohydrate supplementation to a maltodextrin control to see if body composition, sleep, muscular strength, and perceived menstrual cycle symptoms are improved following 6-weeks.
This is a Phase 1, open-label, fixed-sequence, 3-period study to evaluate the effect of multiple doses of itraconazole and a single dose of cyclosporine on the single-dose PK of PF-07081532 in otherwise healthy, overweight or obese, adult female and male participants. The 3 study periods will be conducted consecutively without a break.
The primary objective of this study is to examine the influence of 4-weeks ingestion of TrueBroc®, (broccoli seed extract, BSE) with mustard seed powder (MSP) on improving skin health by evaluating skin physiological and biochemical parameters. This study will test the effect of BSE and MSP compared to placebo on skin health after 4 weeks supplementation. The study will employ a randomized, crossover design with subjects acting as their own controls.
This is a clinical study to implement and evaluate a hospital-wide, operational intervention for a real-time natural language processing (NLP)-driven clinical decision support (CDS) tool, called Substance Misuse Algorithm for Referral to Treatment Using Artificial Intelligence (SMART-AI). The SMART-AI CDS tool will be evaluated via implementation in the UW Health electronic health record (EHR). The CDS tool is meant for screening inpatient adults for opioid misuse as part of a best practice alert to nurses and providers for addiction consult service needs.
