There are about 15072 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Turkey. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Removal of impacted lower third molar teeth is one of the most common oral surgical procedures, and these operations often lead to various complications in patients. Antibiotics, analgesics and/or anti-inflammatory drugs are prescribed for the treatment of complications encountered. Anti-inflammatory is the property of a substance or treatment that reduces inflammation or swelling. Anti-inflammatory drugs make up about half of analgesics, remedying pain by reducing inflammation as opposed to opioids, which affect the central nervous system to block pain signaling to the brain. Based on this information, in this study, it is aimed to evaluate the effects of deflazacort preoperatively on the postoperative pain, swelling and trismus.
The Investigators would like to compare multiradius and single-radius total knee arthroplasty using with association between sagittal patellar offset and anterior knee pain in subjects having undergone bilateral total knee replacement.
This study evaluates the post-operative analgesic effects of quadratus lomborum block 2 and 3 (QLB 2, 3) in patients having cesarean section with spinal anesthesia. Spinal anesthesia will be performed to all patients for the surgery.
Sexual desire may decrease among obese individuals who feel worthless and therefore there may be behaviors that avoid sexuality. Sexuality, one of the activities of daily life, is an issue that is affected by cultural norms and rules and individuals have difficulties expressing their sexual problems comfortably. In a systematic review which is about the effect of bariatric surgery on sexuality; it was emphasized that bariatric surgery, the most widely used treatment in obesity, has positive effects upon reproductive hormones and sexual functions thanks to weight loss. In light of these information above-mentioned; the study was done to examine the correlation between body perception and sexual life before and after bariatric surgery among obese individuals.
Bruxism is defined as a repetitive jaw-muscle activity characterized by tooth grinding or clenching accompanied with wearing of the teeth, and jaw muscle discomfort in the absence of a medical disorder . Bruxism has two distinct circadian manifestations: it can be nocturnal or diurnal. Hypertrophy of the masseter muscle is an objective sign of bruxism. Additionally, fatigue or stiffness in the masticatory muscles, pain in the temporomandibular joint or headaches are subjective signs of bruxism. According to literature, 85% to 90% of the general population experience episodes of bruxism during their lives. Thus, finding an effective treatment method for bruxism is crucial. The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of two different physiotherapy approaches on the masseter muscle thickness and stiffness in patients with Bruxism.
Covid-19 infection is an on-going pandemic with worse diagnosis in adults with comorbid conditions such as hypertension and cardiopulmonary diseases. Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is common in those comorbidities and may contribute to worse prognosis for the Covid-19 cases.
Isolated hypoganglionosis is rare and constitutes 3-5% of all congenital neurological bowel diseases. Since hypoganglionosis is associated with symptoms such as chronic constipation or pseudo-obstruction, it can be confused with Hirschprung's disease and it is important to make a differential diagnosis before treatment. Our aim in this study; In addition to sharing the rarely isolated hypoganglionosis and sigmoid volvulus in a 45-year-old male patient with mental retardation, the investigators present a systematic comprehensive review of hypoganglionosis.
Near vision deterioration during aging results from a decrease in accomodation amplitude (AA). Myocardial regeneration is limited, and cardiac aging is an independent risk factor for cardiovascular disease. Thus, the investigators investigated the association between cardiac aging and AA. The subjects (500, mean 50-year-old subjects, with equal males and females) were divided into two groups according to AA measured with a Raf ruler. Biomicroscopy was used to capture images of the lens nucleus in the unaccommodated state, followed by images of a 4 diopter (D) accommodated state. The nucleus diameter change at 1 D accomodation was measured using ImageJ. Cardiac conduction system differences were evaluated using electrocardiography, and cardiac autonomic aging was assessed based on heart rate variability. Myocardial aging was assessed based on diastolic dysfunction.
This was a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, 29-day, multicenter study to assess the efficacy and safety of ruxolitinib + standard-of-care (SoC) therapy, compared with placebo + SoC therapy, in patients aged ≥12 years with COVID-19 disease.
