The Effects Of I-PRF On Gingivectomy and Gingivoplasty

The study aims to evaluate the effects of injectable platelet-rich fibrin (I-PRF) applications on early wound healing after gingivectomy and gingivoplasty surgery. In this randomized controlled single-blind study, gingivectomy and gingivoplasty surgeries were performed on 46 patients. The postoperative I-PRF-applied surgery areas were compared with control regions. The surgical areas were stained with Mira-2 tone and evaluated in the ImageJ program. Wound healing was evaluated by using the Modified Manchester Scar (MMS) scale and Landry, Turnbull, and Howley (LTH) index. Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and fibroblast growth factor 10 (FGF-10) concentrations were assessed by enzyme-linked immunoabsorbent assay (ELISA). The seven-day Visual Analog Scale was used to assess pain level. Considering the results found, I-PRF applications revealed positive effects on epithelial wound healing after gingivectomy and gingivoplasty operations.

The goal of this re-measured quasi-experimental study is to evaluate the effect of Group Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT-G) intervention given to caregiver family members of people with schizophrenia on caregiver burden, perception of social support and stigma, adherence to treatment in people with schizophrenia they care for, and emotional expression in both caregivers and people with schizophrenia they care for. The main hypotheses it aims to test are: 1. IPT-G intervention will reduce the caregiver burden of caregivers of individuals with schizophrenia. 2. IPT-G intervention will increase the perceived social support levels of caregivers of individuals with schizophrenia. 3. IPT-G intervention will reduce the level of stigma of caregivers of individuals with schizophrenia. 4. IPT-G intervention will reduce the level of emotional expression of caregivers of individuals with schizophrenia. 5. IPT-G intervention applied to caregivers will increase the level of adherence to treatment of individuals with schizophrenia they care for. 6. IPT-G intervention applied to caregivers will reduce the emotional expression levels of individuals with schizophrenia they care for.

Melatonin Supports Non Surgical Periodontal Treatment in Patients With Type 2 Diabetes and Periodontitis

Background and aim: Hyperinflammatory host response associated with diabetes mellitus significantly provokes periodontal tissue destruction. In this context, supporting the standard treatment of periodontitis in diabetics with host modulation agents is a current field of study. This clinical study aims to investigate the clinical efficacy of melatonin supplementation in non-surgical periodontal treatment in patients with Type 2 DM and periodontitis and its biological basis (clinical effectiveness) based on some basic markers. Material and method: In this randomized controlled and double-blind study, 27 of 55 patients with diabetic periodontitis underwent full mouth scaling and root planning (fmSRP) alone and 28 of them were administered melatonin (6 mg daily, for 30 days) in addition to fmSRP. The possible therapeutic contribution of melatonin was evaluated clinically and biochemically [gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) RANKL, OPG and MMP-8 and serum IL-1β levels] at 3 and 6 months.

Because of the unforeseen rate of increase in case numbers, the high rates of mortality and morbidity, and the increased socio economic load it causes, diabetes has become the most discussed chronic and widespread metabolic disease in Turkey, and throughout the World, there are focused efforts to find a solution. It is very important for a person to self-assesss and evaluate to draw a roadmap for improved outcomes in a disease with a high financial and moral burden. A nurse is not only a caregiver to patients, but also a person who guides them to increased engagement and motivation in the care of their illness. Integrative Nurse Coaching is gaining notoriaty as an effective method to improve patient engagament and motivation in self-responsibility for health. The Integrative Nurse Coach Academy in the USA carries out studies and trainings to further this improvement. With cooperation between United States and Turkish nurse colleagues, it aims to bring Integrative Nurse Coach practice to Turkey. The Integrative Nurse Coach uses the nursing process as a framework to guide nurse coaching practice. This requires a shift in traditional nursing terminology and meaning to understand and incorporate the patient's subjective experience as follows: from assessment to stablishing a relationship, identifying readiness for change and the resources available to the patient for change; from nursing diagnosis to identifying opportunities and issues; from outcomes to having the patient set the agenda for achievement of the patient's goals; from 3 planning to creating the structure of the coaching interaction; from intervention to empowering the patient to reach goals; and from evaluating to assisting the patient to determine the extent to which goals were achieved. The Theory of Integrative Nurse Coaching (TINC) , developed by the Integrative Nurse Coach Association , sheds light on this point. The TINC encompasses many holistic nursing theories and contains three concepts and five components. The SelfDevelopment component empowers individuals (including the nurse coach) to focus on their health and wellness from an integral perspective and to identify their individual knowledge, expertise, strengths, and resources, while recognizing the fluidity of the change. The TINC is designed to guide nurse coaching practice, education, research, and health care policy. The theory emphasizes, describes, and directs the practice of nurse coaching, a recognized holistic nursing modality. It has been seen that the TINC framework is very suitable for individuals with diabetes to provide their own management.

The Effect of Kinesthetic Motor Imagery Training and Dual Task Training on Cognitive and Motor Functions in Healthy Youth

The goal of this clinical trial is to investigate the effects of kinesthetic motor imagery training and dual-task training on cognitive and motor functions in healthy young people. The main question[s] it aims to answer are: - Kinesthetic motor imagery training and dual-task training do not affect cognitive and motor functions in healthy young people. - Kinesthetic motor imagery training and dual-task training affect cognitive and motor functions in healthy youth. - In healthy young people, kinesthetic motor imagery training is more effective on cognitive functions than dual-task training. - In healthy young people, dual task training is more effective on motor functions than kinesthetic motor imagery training. Participants will be divided into 3 groups, taking into account the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Participants in each group will be asked to fill out the sociodemographic form before starting the training. Then, initial assessments were the Motion Image Questionnaire-3 to measure motor imagery ability, and the Box and Block Test for mental stopwatch; Stroop Test to measure cognitive functions; In order to evaluate the dual-task performance, the measurement of the dual-task effect and the Berg Balance scale, which evaluates balance as a motor function, and the Y test, which is frequently used in healthy individuals, will be applied. In the balance exercises group, the participants will do the determined balance exercises 3 days a week for 6 weeks, accompanied by a physiotherapist. In the double-task training group, the participants will perform the cognitive tasks in addition to the determined balance exercises, 3 days a week for 6 weeks, accompanied by a physiotherapist. In kinesthetic motor imagery group, the participants will do the physically determined balance exercises in the first session. Participants will participate in imagery exercises, 3 sessions a week for 6 weeks. Visualization studies will be performed in a quiet environment with the eyes closed, accompanied by a physiotherapist, and whether the participants perform a real motor imagery will be examined by evaluating their autonomic functions. At the end of 6 weeks, initial evaluations will be repeated in all groups. The investigators will compare dual-task training group, kinesthetic motor imagery training group and balance exercises group to see if changes in cognitive and motor function.

The present study is a prospective cohort study. This study will be conducted to determine the change in miRNA levels with exercise in knee Osteoarthritis (OA) patients. The main questions that the study aims to answer are: Question 1: Does exercise therapy affect microrna expressions in patients with knee osteoarthritis? Question 2: Does exercise therapy affect quality of life, pain, functional status and depression level in patients with knee osteoarthritis? Participants; demographic information such as age, height, weight will be questioned. Exercises will performed twice a week under supervision and once a week as home program for eight weeks. Before and after exercise treatment, peripheral venous blood samples will taken from both groups. miRNA-146a, miRNA-155, miRNA-221-3p and miRNA-145 gene expressions will studied with the real-time PCR (polymerase chain reaction) method. miRNA-146a, miRNA-155, and miRNA-221-3p, miRNA-145 gene expressions will studied with the Real-time PCR method. The pain will evaluated with the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS), functional status with Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index (WOMAC), depression level with the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), and quality of life with Short Form-36 (SF-36).

It is seen that the time spent by both parents and children in the family with smart devices has increased for various reasons. This situation creates effects on the developmental processes of children. In the literature, it is seen that children and adolescents are more exposed to digital technology. Preschoolers, unlike other children, are in the process of forming healthy habits that will continue to reflect their future quality of life. Incorrect posture in preschool and school-aged children can cause extremely serious health problems in adulthood, if not detected and removed in time. Knowledge of postural control and muscle strength can be important both for identifying children at high risk of falls and injury and for developing fall and injury prevention intervention programs. More specifically, knowledge of a potential relationship between postural control and muscle strength can assist in tailoring specially designed injury and fall prevention intervention programs. As a result, with the changing world, the age at which children start using technological devices is gradually decreasing, and as age increases, the duration of device use also increases. Provider, children's exposure to technology will be much longer than adults. There are no studies evaluating the relationship between technology addiction, posture disorder, balance and muscle strength in the preschool period. Generally, research has been done on technology addiction and posture disorder. The aim of our research is not only to investigate the technology addiction and posture disorder of preschool children, but also to evaluate the relationship between future muscle strength and balance of the posture disorder that may occur.
