There are about 15072 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Turkey. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Exercise is a key component of obesity management. Obese subjects cannot attend or sustain exercise program because of increased general fatigue, dyspnea and muscle fatigue. And they feel more exertion when comparing with normal weight subjects. Reduced-exertion high-intensity interval training (REHIT) is a alternative method to continuous exercise programs. The investigators aimed comparing metabolic effects of REHIT and continuous exercise in young adults, in this study.
The primary objective of the study is to determine the effect of pozelimab on active CD55-deficient protein-losing enteropathy (PLE; CHAPLE). The secondary objectives of the study are: - To evaluate the safety and tolerability of pozelimab in patients with CD55-deficient PLE disease - To evaluate the effect of pozelimab on CD55-deficient PLE (both patients with active disease at baseline and those with inactive disease on eculizumab, switching to pozelimab) - To determine the effects of pozelimab on albumin and other serum proteins (total protein, immunoglobulins) - To determine the effects of pozelimab on ascites - To determine the effects of pozelimab on stool consistency - To determine the effect of pozelimab on health-related quality of life - To determine the effect of pozelimab on lab abnormalities observed in CD55-deficient PLE such as hypertriglyceridemia, thrombocytosis, and hypovitaminosis B12 - To describe the effects of pozelimab on the sparing of concomitant medications and reduction in hospitalization days - To determine the effects of pozelimab on growth - To characterize the concentration of pozelimab in patients with CD55-deficient PLE - To assess the incidence of treatment-emergent ADA for pozelimab in patients with CD55-deficient PLE disease
In the pediatric age group, postoperative pain is very important for the children to have a comfortable and problem-free postoperative period. In the present study, it was aimed to compare the postoperative analgesic efficacy of Transversus abdominis plane (TAP) Block, and quadratus lumborum block (QLB) Type 1 on the pediatric patients
Plane blocks have become very popular in recent years with the introduction of ultrasonography into the regional anesthesia and algology practice. Erector spinae plane (ESP) block involves the injection of local anesthetics between erector spinae muscles and transverse process of vertebrae and can block the dorsal and ventral rami of thoracolumbar spinal nerves. The aim of this study was to evaluate the analgesic efficacy of the erector spine plane block for reno-ureteral colic.
Background. Vitamin D has both direct effects on bone metabolism and an antimicrobial effect on periodontopathogens. It also inhibits inflammatory mediators that contribute to periodontal destruction. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the association between serum 1.25-hydroxyvitamin D (1.25(OH)2D3) and 25(OH)D levels and periodontal inflammation. Methods. This study included 28 subjects with chronic gingivitis, 29 subjects with chronic periodontitis and 25 periodontally healthy subjects. Blood samples were collected from the participants to determine serum levels of 25(OH)D, 1.25(OH)2D3, tumour necrosis factor α (TNF-α), C-reactive protein (CRP) and interleukin 6 (IL-6). Clinical parameters were recorded. Results were statistically analysed with a Shapiro-Wilk's test, Mann-Whitney U test, Kruskal-Wallis H test, Wilcoxon test and post-hoc multiple comparison test.
The purpose of this study was to provide up to 52 weeks of efficacy, safety and tolerability data to support registration of intravenous (i.v.) secukinumab (Initial dose of 6 mg/kg at Baseline (BSL) followed thereafter with 3 mg/kg administered every four weeks) in patients with active psoriatic arthritis (PsA) despite current or previous Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), Disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs) and/or anti-tumor necrosis factor (TNF) therapy.
Recruitment maneuver is frequently used in daily anaesthesia routine to prevent athelectasia and ventilation perfusion mismatch. Especially pneumoperitoneum in laparoscopic surgeries affects the functional residual capacity (FRC) negatively. Recently, FRC can be measured at bedside in intensive care units. The lack of studies evaluating FRC measurements peroperatively and how recruitment maneuvers affect it, attract attention.
The purpose of this two part multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, Phase III study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of alpelisib compared to alpelisib matching-placebo in combination with trastuzumab and pertuzumab as maintenance treatment of patients with HER2-positive advanced breast cancer whose tumor harbors a PIK3CA mutation following induction therapy with a taxane in combination with trastuzumab and pertuzumab. Part 1 is the open-label, safety run-in part of the study, designed to confirm the recommended phase 3 dose (RP3D) dose of alpelisib in combination with trastuzumab and pertuzumab. Following Part 1, Part 2 will be initiated, which is the randomized, Phase III part of the study.
Benign Joint Hypermobility Syndrome is a hereditary connective tissue problem characterized by the emergence of multiple musculoskeletal problems in hypermobile individuals without a systemic rheumatologic disease. Studies have shown that hypermobility may also affect lung function. Playing wind instruments requires tiring breathing activity. The effect of wind instrument on lung function and how it affects lung function is a highly controversial issue. Given the distribution and importance of collagen tissue in the body, multiple effects of hypermobility are inevitable. The aim of this study was to evaluate the presence of hypermobility in young healthy individuals; The aim of the study is to investigate the effects of hypermobility on the cardiovascular system and to provide training to the participants regarding the findings. The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship of hypermobility with respiratory functions in professional hypermobile musicians and to compare this relationship with healthy hypermobile individuals who are not engaged in music.
Purpose :To determine the impact of directed Valsalva's's versus spontaneous pushing techniques during second stage of labour on postpartum maternal fatigue. . Methods: The control group participants have an onset of spontaneous pushing when the cervical dilatation was 6cm while the directed pushing group carried out the Valsalva's manoeuvre. The data of the study are obtained by utilizing Baseline Obstetric Data Form and Visual Analogue Fatigue Scale (VAFS). The investigators have done postpartum tests on perineal tear, hemorrhagia, haemoglobin level, vital findings, blood pH, pO2 and pCO2, and lactate level for the mother while the neonatal tests of APGAR score for 1st and 5th minutes, umbilical artery blood pH, pO2 and pCO2 levels are done for the newborn.
