Pediacel™ is currently licensed in the UK for use as a 3 dose regimen for the active immunisation of infants against Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis, Poliomyelitis and invasive infections caused by Haemophilus influenzae type b. However there are currently no clinical data supporting the use of Pediacel™ using a 3, 5, and 12 months of age vaccination schedule. This study is designed to provide safety and immunogenicity data to support the use of Pediacel™ according to a 3, 5, and 12 months schedule.

The Efficacy, Safety and Tolerability of E2007 in Levodopa Treated Parkinson's Disease Patients With Motor Fluctuations

Patients will be randomised to receive either placebo or the study drug for a period of 30 weeks, in addition to their standard Parkinsonian medications. During the first 8 weeks, the patient's levodopa doses may be adjusted if necessary by the investigator. For the remainder of the 22 weeks, all medications should be kept stable. Patients will be required to attend the clinic twice during the screening period and then a further 8 times during the treatment period. They will be required to complete home diaries where they will record their motor function. In addition, their doctor will assess their Parkinson's disease during the clinic visits. There will also be blood draws for safety and pharmacokinetic and pharmacogenomics evaluation. Following the treatment and assessment period, they will return to the clinic one month later for follow up.

Study Evaluating Metabolic Syndrome in Subjects Undergoing Gastric Bypass Bariatric Syndrome

Metabolic syndrome is rapidly emerging as an epidemic of global proportions and its definition is still evolving. Patients with this syndrome are at increased risk for cardiovascular disease, and at increased risk of mortality from cardiovascular disease. Metabolic syndrome is strongly associated with obesity, and more specifically with abdominal obesity. Abdominal obesity, comprises two main components: visceral (VAT) and subcutaneous (SAT) adipose tissue depots, with VAT reported as more metabolically active than SAT, and thought to play a major role in the metabolic disturbances associated with obesity and metabolic syndrome. Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is fast becoming the most common liver disease and is associated with obesity, insulin resistance and metabolic syndrome. Bariatric surgery has yielded dramatic results including longitudinal loss of excess body weight and either complete reversal or significant improvement of several features of metabolic syndrome, NAFLD, and nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) in obese patients.

An interventional active/placebo double blinded parallel randomized controlled study in which at 12 weeks of treatment, the primary endpoint of patient perception of bladder condition is measured along with associated safety and other secondary endpoints like bladder diary endpoints, quality of life and patient treatment satisfaction. Patients included in the study must have symptoms of OAB (frequency of at least 8 per day and Urgency of at least 1 episode per day confirmed by bladder diary). Patients are not eligible to enroll in the study if they have/had significant hepatic or renal disease, history of radiation treatment.
