NCT ID: NCT00062400 Completed - Breast Cancer Clinical Trials

Assessing Women's Attitudes About the Risk of Infertility Related to Adjuvant Therapy for Early Breast Cancer

Start date: May 2003
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Adjuvant therapy given after surgery for early breast cancer may cause infertility. Assessing young women's attitudes and feelings about the risk of infertility may help improve the ability to plan effective treatment. PURPOSE: This clinical trial is studying young women's attitudes and feelings about the risk of infertility related to adjuvant therapy for stage I or stage II breast cancer.

NCT ID: NCT00059306 Completed - Hypertension Clinical Trials

Secondary Prevention of Small Subcortical Strokes Trial

SPS3
Start date: February 2003
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this study is to learn if combination antiplatelet therapy (aspirin and clopidogrel) is more effective than aspirin alone for the prevention of recurrent stroke and cognitive decline, and if intensive blood pressure control is associated with fewer recurrent strokes and cognitive decline. On July 21, 2011 the DSMB recommended terminating the anti platelet arm of the study due to an imbalance of overall and major non-CNS hemorrhagic SAE's and total deaths in the investigational anti platelet combination of aspirin + clopidogrel and an interim statistical analysis that demonstrated futility in the investigational anti platelet arm. It was recommended that patients be continued on standard care of aspirin mono therapy until their study close-out visit. Also, recommended the continuation and completion of the plood pressure arm following the protocol.

NCT ID: NCT00058838 Completed - Parkinson Disease Clinical Trials

Study Evaluating Sumanirole for the Treatment of the Signs and Symptoms of Early Parkinson's Disease

Start date: April 2003
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The primary purpose of this study is to determine whether sumanirole, at three different dose levels, is effective and safe in the treatment of the signs and symptoms of early Parkinson's disease

NCT ID: NCT00054769 Completed - HIV Infections Clinical Trials

Diagnosing Tuberculosis in HIV Infected Children in Peru

Start date: March 2002
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

Tuberculosis is a major cause of mortality among AIDS patients in the developing world. The diagnosis of tuberculosis in HIV infected children is complicated by inefficient and expensive tuberculosis tests and vague diagnostic criteria. This study will evaluate the accuracy and efficiency of several different tuberculosis tests that could be used in developing countries.

NCT ID: NCT00054561 Completed - Clinical trials for Head and Neck Cancer

Isotretinoin, Interferon Alfa, and Vitamin E in Treating Patients With Stage III or Stage IV Head and Neck Cancer

Start date: November 26, 2003
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy such as isotretinoin use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Interferon alfa may interfere with the growth of tumor cells. Vitamin E may be able to decrease side effects caused by isotretinoin. It is not yet known whether combining isotretinoin and interferon alfa with vitamin E is more effective than observation in preventing recurrence of head and neck cancer after surgery and/or radiation therapy. PURPOSE: Randomized phase III trial to compare the effectiveness of isotretinoin and interferon alfa combined with vitamin E with that of observation in treating patients who have undergone surgery and/or radiation therapy for stage III or stage IV head and neck cancer.

NCT ID: NCT00043901 Completed - Clinical trials for Epilepsy, Tonic-Clonic

Treatment Of Primary Generalized Tonic-Clonic Seizures With An Investigational New Drug

Start date: December 1, 2000
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of an investigational new drug for supplemental therapy in subjects with primary generalized tonic-clonic (PGTC) seizures.

NCT ID: NCT00038467 Completed - Breast Neoplasms Clinical Trials

Randomized Trial Of Exemestane Versus Continued Tamoxifen In Postmenopausal Women With Early Breast Cancer

IES
Start date: February 1998
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

To compare the sequential administration of exemestane with administration of further tamoxifen until 5 years in postmenopausal women with operable breast cancer who have already received 2-3 years of adjuvant tamoxifen, in terms of disease-free survival (DFS), overall survival (OS), incidence of contralateral breast cancer and long-term tolerability.

NCT ID: NCT00038103 Completed - Breast Neoplasms Clinical Trials

Open-Label Study Of Exemestane With Or Without Celecoxib In Postmenopausal Women With ABC Having Progressed On Tamoxifen

Start date: January 2002
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This is an open-label, multicenter, randomized (1:1 randomization ratio) study of either exemestane or exemestane plus celecoxib in postmenopausal women with ABC having progressed on tamoxifen.

NCT ID: NCT00036088 Completed - Schizophrenia Clinical Trials

Olanzapine Versus An Active Comparator in the Treatment of Schizophrenia

Start date: August 2001
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to determine how Olanzapine compares to an active comparator in the treatment of schizophrenia
