NCT ID: NCT00751933 Terminated - Ulcerative Colitis Clinical Trials

Vaccines and Dietary Oats in the Treatment of Ulcerative Colitis

Start date: October 2008
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

Ulcerative colitis is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease caused by an imbalance between natural defence mechanisms in the intestinal mucosa and microbes in the intestinal lumen. We hypothesise that an improvement or even normalisation of this balance may be achieved by the use of vaccines and dietary oats. The combined use of oral typhoid vaccine and cholera/ETEC-vaccine is supposed to stimulate mucosal defence factors, while dietary oats modifies the microbial environment inside the intestinal lumen. Or study aim is to show if such treatment brings symptom relief to patients with ulcerative colitis.

NCT ID: NCT00751062 Completed - Ocular Hypertension Clinical Trials

A Study of Open Angle Glaucoma or Ocular Hypertension in Patients Within Scandinavia

Start date: November 1992

PhXA41 is not inferior to timolol in reducing intra-ocular pressure

NCT ID: NCT00749190 Completed - Clinical trials for Diabetes Mellitus, Type 2

BI 10773 add-on to Metformin in Patients With Type 2 Diabetes

Start date: August 2008
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The objective of the current study is to investigate the efficacy, safety and pharmacokinetics of five doses of BI 10773 compared to placebo given for 12 weeks as add-on therapy to on going metformin therapy in patients with T2DM with insufficient glycemic control. In addition, there will be an open-label treatment arm with sitagliptin (JanuviaTM) as add-on therapy to metformin.

NCT ID: NCT00746876 Completed - Hip Fractures Clinical Trials

Unipolar or Bipolar Hemiarthroplasty in the Treatment of Displaced Femoral Neck Fractures.

HEMIUNIBIPOL
Start date: September 2009
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Hemiarthroplasty of the hip is standard treatment of femoral neck fractures (hip fractures). Hemiarthroplasty means replacing the hip joint with a metal prosthesis. Unipolar prostheses has a one-piece design where the hip movement occurs between the prosthesis and the acetabulum (hip socket). A bipolar prosthesis has an additional artificial joint between the two components of the prosthesis. Both treatments are clinically proven and common around the world. No clinical trial has proven benefits of one or the other prosthesis design. The investigators want to measure the differences in acetabular wear using these two prostheses, using radiostereometric measurements.

NCT ID: NCT00746681 Completed - Overactive Bladder Clinical Trials

Investigation of Tolterodine, Pregabalin and a Tolterodine - Pregabalin Combination for the Treatment of Overactive Bladder

Start date: December 2005
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

Tolterodine is approved for use in the treatment of overactive bladder (OAB). The study is designed to a investigate whether pregabalin may have efficacy in OAB and whether the efficacy is altered when it is combined with tolterodine.
