NCT ID: NCT00464633 Completed - Clinical trials for Leukemia, Lymphocytic, Chronic

Alvocidib in Patients With Previously Treated Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia or Prolymphocytic Leukemia Arising From Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL)

Start date: March 2007
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

Multicenter, open-label, study of alvocidib in previously treated chronic lymphocytic leukemia patients. Primary objective is to determine overall response rate. The secondary objectives are: - to assess overall safety, - to assess duration of response, progression free survival, and overall survival. Clinical benefit and pharmacokinetics parameters are also evaluated.

NCT ID: NCT00464529 Completed - Clinical trials for Glucose Metabolism Disorders

Accuracy and Safety of Real Time Continuous Glucose Monitoring Before, During and After Surgery

GluContinu
Start date: May 2007
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

The purpose of this study is to determine the safety and accuracy of the Real-Time Continuous Glucose monitoring System (RT-CGMS)in measuring glucose in patients scheduled for surgery; before, during and after surgery.

NCT ID: NCT00463866 Completed - Asthma Clinical Trials

Local Phase 4 Pan-European SMART Study

Start date: March 2007
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of two different maintenance doses of Symbicort Maintenance And Reliever Therapy (SMART) in adult asthmatic patients. A 6 month treatment period

NCT ID: NCT00463177 Completed - Pain Clinical Trials

Augmented Cerebral Pain Processing in Chronic, Unexplained Pain: a fMRI Study

Start date: March 2007
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

Chronic, unexplained pain symptoms are very common in all layers of the population, but it is largely unknown what causes them. This study examines the hypothesis that patients with these pain symptoms process pain abnormally in their brain. TO this aim, we compare patients and healthy people: they receive mild pain at their painful body region and at another location. Concurrently, we measure brain activity with brain scans (functional MRI scans). With our study results, we want to increase understanding of what causes chronic, unexplained pain symptoms, in order to find better methods of diagnosing and treating them.

NCT ID: NCT00462371 Completed - Clinical trials for Diabetes Mellitus, Type 1

Comparison Between Insulin Pump Treatment and Multiple Daily Insulin Injections in Diabetic Type 1 Children

Start date: January 2002
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

Comparison between insulin pump treatment and multiple daily insulin injections in 38 children with type 1 diabetes4-16 years old. Outcome metabolic control, quality of life, impact of disease and cost effectiveness. We hypothesised that insulin pump treatment would give a better metabolic control and quality of life.

NCT ID: NCT00462150 Completed - Clinical trials for Rheumatoid Arthritis

Effects of Home-Based Emotional Disclosure in Rheumatoid Arthritis

Start date: September 2002
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of the study is threefold: 1) to develop a home-based emotional disclosure intervention inducing core elements of change (emotional engagement, cognitive restructuring, and positive future directedness); 2) to examine in a randomized controlled trial in patients with rheumatoid arthritis the induction of the core elements and the feasibility of the intervention for home application; and, 3) to examine the psychological, clinical, and physiological effects of the adapted emotional disclosure intervention and the modulating role of cognitive-emotional change and individual differences in emotion regulation.

NCT ID: NCT00462111 Completed - Healthy Clinical Trials

Indomethacin and Mechanisms Underlying Risk of Falling

Start date: April 2007
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to determine whether indometacin has an effect on reaction time, postural stability, and the avoidance of obstacles.

NCT ID: NCT00461799 Completed - Clinical trials for Crigler-Najjar Syndrome

Orlistat Treatment of Crigler-Najjar Disease

Start date: September 2003
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study was to determine whether orlistat is effective in decreasing plasma unconjugated bilirubin levels in patients with Crigler-Najjar disease.

NCT ID: NCT00461656 Completed - Surgery Clinical Trials

Povidone-iodine Antisepsis for Strabismus Surgery

PASS
Start date: September 2009
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to compare the efficacy of 5 % vs. 1.25 % povidone-iodine (PI) as preoperative antiseptic prior to strabismus surgery in children as a prophylaxis of endophthalmitis. Given the low rate of endophthalmitis the conjunctival bacterial flora rate is used as surrogate marker to determine the effectiveness of topical PI in reducing or eliminating bacteria from the ocular surface at the time of the surgery. Secondary objective is a reduction of the incidence of postoperative endophthalmitis after strabismus surgery in young children.

NCT ID: NCT00461292 Completed - Overactive Bladder Clinical Trials

Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to assess the safety and effectiveness of botulinum toxin type A in treating overactive bladder in spinal cord injury or multiple sclerosis patients
