NCT ID: NCT00811382 Completed - Heart Failure Clinical Trials

Clinical effecT of Heart Failure Management Via Home Monitoring With a Focus on Atrial Fibrillation (effecT)

effecT
Start date: May 2008
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

EffecT is a prospective, randomized multicenter study to assess whether management of atrial fibrillation as well as the early optimization of cardiac resynchronization therapy via Home Monitoring decreases mortality and morbidity compared to conventional treatment in subjects with a standard indication for CRT with Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator backup and atrial fibrillation.

NCT ID: NCT00810654 Completed - Celiac Disease Clinical Trials

Effect of Aspergillus Niger Prolyl Endoprotease (AN-PEP) Enzyme on the Effects of Gluten Ingestion in Patients With Coeliac Disease

Start date: May 2008
Phase: Phase 1/Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

Oral supplementation with enzymes that can cut gluten has been suggested as a potential treatment modality for coeliac disease. In the present study the investigators wish to determine if co-administration of such an enzyme, a prolyl endoprotease derived from the food grade organism Aspergillis niger (AN-PEP), is capable of detoxifying 8 grams of gluten in a commercial food product.

NCT ID: NCT00810485 Completed - Clinical trials for Gastroesophageal Reflux

ADX10059 as an add-on Therapy to Proton Pump Inhibitors (PPIs) in Patients With Gastroesophageal Reflux (GERD)

Start date: December 2008
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of ADX10059 in patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease who are partial responders to proton pump inhibitors

NCT ID: NCT00810199 Completed - Clinical trials for Rheumatoid Arthritis

A Study of Tocilizumab and Methotrexate Treatment Strategies (Adding Tocilizumab to Methotrexate Versus Switching to Tocilizumab) in Patients With Active Rheumatoid Arthritis With Inadequate Response to Prior Methotrexate Treatment

Start date: March 2009
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This 2 arm study will compare 2 treatment strategies based on tocilizumab in combination with methotrexate or placebo in patients with moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis. Patients receiving methotrexate treatment will be randomized to receive either a) tocilizumab 8 mg intravenous (iv) every 4 weeks + methotrexate orally (po) weekly or b) tocilizumab 8 mg iv every 4 weeks + placebo po weekly. After the first 24 weeks of blinded treatment, treatment adjustments (increase or decrease of treatment intensity) may be introduced at intervals, based on response. The anticipated time on study treatment is up to 3 years, and the target sample size is approximately 470 patients.

NCT ID: NCT00810069 Completed - Clinical trials for Major Depressive Disorder

Early Versus Delayed Switch in Medication in Patients With Major Depressive Disorder

Start date: November 2008
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

This study investigates two different approaches to the change in antidepressant treatment when an initial treatment is not effective: early intervention or delayed intervention. Two hypothesis will be tested: 1. that time to confirmed response is shorter in the early intervention strategy vs. delayed intervention strategy 2. that the time to confirmed remission is shorter in the early intervention strategy compared to delayed intervention strategy.

NCT ID: NCT00809965 Completed - Clinical trials for Myocardial Infarction

An Efficacy and Safety Study for Rivaroxaban in Patients With Acute Coronary Syndrome

Start date: November 2008
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to determine whether rivaroxaban in addition to standard care reduces the risk of the composite of cardiovascular death, myocardial infarction, or stroke in patients with a recent acute coronary syndrome compared with placebo.

NCT ID: NCT00809913 Completed - Clinical trials for Urinary Tract Infection

Febrile Urinary Tract Infection Randomized Short Treatment Trial

FUTIRST
Start date: December 2008
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to determine whether a 7-day duration of antibiotic treatment of febrile urinary tract infection (FUTI) is non inferior to 14-day standard duration of treatment in unselected population presenting at primary care or emergency department.

NCT ID: NCT00809614 Completed - Psoriatic Arthritis Clinical Trials

Efficacy of AIN457 in Adults (18-65 Years) With Psoriatic Arthritis

Start date: March 2009
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This study is designed as a proof of concept of AIN457 in patients with psoriatic arthritis. The study will address the evaluation of the efficacy at 6 and up to 24 weeks after two doses of AIN457 10 mg/kg administered three weeks apart.

NCT ID: NCT00809523 Completed - Clinical trials for Seasonal Affective Disorder

A Trial of Negative Ion Generation Versus Light-Emitting Diode Phototherapy for Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

Start date: December 2008
Phase: Phase 2/Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This is a randomized, controlled clinical trial of inactivated negative ion generation or light-emitting photodiode therapy for Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD, winter depression), for subjects with a DSM IV diagnosis of Major Depression, with Seasonal Pattern, Winter type, to examine efficacy of treatments for this condition. The trial has a 1 week baseline phase and a 4 week treatment phase.
