There are about 9745 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Israel. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The goal of this study is to determine the hormonal/metabolic reponse to ingestion of sugar compared to consuming artificial sweetened drink, and to evalute macronutrient consumption 24 hours post ingestion of the drinks. We hypothesize that artificially sweetened (AS) consumption will lead to a relatively similar hormonal/metabolic responses as glucose consumption and therefore to secondary rise of caloric intake.
This is an open study.approximately 20 patients diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder (in case patient is under drug treatment, treatment should be stable within the prior 4 weeks before study entry).Starting from the third day, subjects would undergo rTMS (repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) for five days a week, for four weeks, and will be clinically evaluated in order to monitor for improvement. The investigators anticipate a significant reduction in symptoms severity at the end of the treatment compared to study entry.
This was a two-arm, randomized, double-blind Phase III study of dabrafenib in combination with trametinib versus two placebos in the adjuvant treatment of melanoma after surgical resection. Patients with completely resected, histologically confirmed, BRAF V600E/K mutation-positive, high-risk [Stage IIIa (lymph node metastasis >1 mm), IIIb or IIIc] cutaneous melanoma were screened for eligibility. Subjects were randomized to receive either dabrafenib (150 milligram (mg) twice daily [BID]) and trametinib (2 mg once daily [QD]) combination therapy or two placebos for 12 months.
The purpose of the study is to investigate if bronchoscopic lung volume reduction by valves (Zephyr) would reduce native lung overinflation in patients that underwent single lung transplantation due to emphysema, and improve their well being and pulmonary function tests.
LNP is new extended release (ER) oily solution formulation of ropivacaine that is intended for local infiltration into surgical wounds. The purpose of this study is to determine the ease of usage and administration of LNP in the surgical setting, to follow the Pharmacokinetic (PK) profile of LNP over 72 hours and evaluate the duration of analgesia witnessed in the surgical setting.
To determine if the oral administration of PectaSol-C Modified Citrus Pectin (MCP) is effective at improving Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) kinetics in men with biochemical relapsed prostate cancer and serial increases in PSA levels. Also, documentation of any side effects or benefits within parameter of the study is included.
A pilot study of mapping the peripheral plasma micro-RNA and proteomics patterns in depressive patients, treated with SSRI medications. It is an observational clinical bio-markers laboratory controlled research with no device. The research includes two groups; one for patients diagnosed of having depression, and will get a standard SSRI medication regimen. Second group is for control subjects without depression. An option for a third group is planned to include first degree relatives of the depressed patients. After giving their informed consents, subjects and patients will go through standard clinical psychiatric interview, and routine clinical lab tests. Clinical standard, specific depression and anxiety questionnaires will be held at four follow-up meetings: at start; after 2 weeks; 4 weeks; and 10 weeks. Subjects and patients will be asked to give blood samples at these points of time for the lab processing: Complete plasma proteomics and specific micro-RNA levels.
Retinitis pigmentosa is a genetically disease consisting of progressive retinal degeneration starting in the rods. Its prevalence is 1:4000 people and is the fourth most common blinding disease in Israel in 2004 [7% of all blindness]. The investigators treated a non-progressive form of the disease [Fundus Albipunctatus] by oral therapy of the food supplement made from alga Dunaliella Bardawil composed of approximately 50% 9-cis β-carotene. The alga Dunaliella Bardawil accumulates high concentration of β -carotene when grown under appropriate conditions. The β -carotene of the alga is composed of approximately 50% of all-trans - β carotene and 50% 9-cis β -carotene. The 9-cis β -carotene has been shown to be a precursor of 9-cis retinoic acid both in-vitro in human intestinal mucosa and in-vivo in a ferret, perfused with 9-cis b-carotene. The night vision, as measured objectively by electroretinography (ERG) more than doubled in six patients tested following treatment. The visual field was also improved significantly. In a more recent study the investigators treated 29 retinitis pigmentosa patients with the 9-cis b Carotene algae Dunaliella Bardawil in a double masked placebo control cross over trial. Significant improvement in retinal function was recorded in 34% of the patients.
The objective of the study is to establish the safety profile of Intramuscular PLX-PAD injections and to evaluate the clinical efficacy of it in IC subjects comprising of 4 treatment groups: 1. Double treatment of PLX-PAD low dose 2. Double treatment of PLX-PAD high dose 3. Double treatment of Placebo 4. Single treatment of PLX-PAD high dose and additional treatment of Placebo. Subjects will receive the assigned treatment twice to the affected leg, within 12-weeks interval between each treatment. The study will be comprised of 5 stages: Screening period of up to 4 weeks, first treatment of PLX-PAD or placebo followed by additional injection after 12 weeks and with follow-up of 12 months post second injection
This is a double-blind , randomized, controlled, two-arm study aiming to evaluate the safety and efficacy of Polyheal-2 vs PolyHeal, in once daily application as compared to historical control. The study will enroll adult subjects with post traumatic/post surgical, venus insufficiency and diabetic hard to heal wounds who meet the entrance criteria which will be followed for 12 weeks.
