Vitamin D and Health Outcomes in Preterm Born Population

ViDePrePop
Start date: September 1, 2018
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Improved survival of very preterm newborn population during the last decades has challenged us neonatologists to study and improve nutritional practices including vitamin D (VitD) supplementation. However, long term outcome in this aspect has not been researched in well documented preterm populations. As VitD has receptors in almost all human cells it modulates growth of many organs. Therefore I start to assess VitD supplementation practices and later health outcome (bones, teeth, muscles, heart, lungs) in two preterm population cohorts cared in Oulu University Hospital at the age of 5 years and 24 years (born 2014-2017 and 1994-1997).

NCT ID: NCT04324229 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Gestational Diabetes

Liraglutide in the Prevention of Type 2 Diabetes After Gestational Diabetes

Liragest
Start date: February 7, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Obese women with history of gestational diabetes are in great danger to develop type 2 diabetes (T2D) within 5-10 years after delivery. Aim of the study is to investigate if 12 months' liraglutide treatment could decrease the risk of T2D in obese women who have had gestational diabetes. The women are randomized either to liraglutide (Victoza ® 1.8 mg) or placebo group, once daily. Same laboratory tests are taken and instructions given at baseline 6 month and one year. After one year visits once a year until 5 years with same laboratory tests and measurements are taken.

NCT ID: NCT04311788 Active, not recruiting - Incisional Hernia Clinical Trials

Preemer Trial - Prophylactic Mesh Versus no Mesh in the Midline Emergency Laparotomy Closure for Prevention of Incisional Hernia: a Multi Center, Double-blind, Randomized Controlled Trial

Start date: April 27, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

244 patients, who have an emergency midline laparotomy for any gastrointestinal reason, will be randomized in a 1:1 ratio either to mesh group with a retrorectus prophylactic self-gripping mesh or to control group with 4:1 small stitch closure by continuous monofilament suture. They will be followed up at 30 days, 2 and 5 years to detect the incidence of incisional hernia.

NCT ID: NCT04267081 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Acute Myeloid Leukemia

Study of Venetoclax in Combination With Azacytidine in AML Patients Selected Using Ex Vivo Drug Sensitivity Screening

VenEx
Start date: February 12, 2020
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This is a multi center two-stage, two-arm, open label phase II study of venetoclax in combination with azacytidine in acute myeloid leukemia patients selected for therapy with ex vivo venetoclax sensitivity screening. This study will characterize the usability of ex vivo drug sensitivity testing for patient selection for selecting the responsive patients for venetoclax therapy. The exploratory study will aim to find novel combinations for overcoming resistance as well as finding/validating biomarkers for both sensitivity and resistance.
