NCT ID: NCT03114033 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Out-Of-Hospital Cardiac Arrest

Targeted Therapeutic Mild Hypercapnia After Resuscitated Cardiac Arrest

TAME
Start date: February 15, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The TAME Cardiac Arrest trial will study the ability of higher arterial carbon dioxide (PaCO2) levels to reduce brain damage, comparing giving patients 'normal' to 'slightly higher than normal' blood PaCO2 levels and assessing their ability to return to normal life-tasks. It will be the largest trial ever conducted in heart attack patients in the intensive care unit. This therapy is cost free and, if shown to be effective, will improve thousands of lives, transform clinical practice, and yield major savings.

NCT ID: NCT03106324 Active, not recruiting - Multiple Myeloma Clinical Trials

A Safety Study of Lenalidomide in Previously Untreated Adult Multiple Myeloma Patients Who Are Not Eligible for Transplant

Start date: March 31, 2017
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

This post authorization safety study is designed as prospective non interventional study for patients with newly diagnosed multiple myeloma who are not eligible for transplant. The objective is to compare the incidence of cardiovascular events between patients treated with a first-line lenalidomide containing regimen and those treated with a first-line non-lenalidomide containing regimen. Treatment in both cohorts will be done according to standard care. The study will gather risk factor information at baseline and throughout follow-up. Any cardiovascular event occurring will be assessed by an independent committee. Other safety endpoints will be collected through standard procedures. Observation period will be 3 years on treatment, with an additional evaluation of cardiovascular events 6 months' post treatment and a follow up period until 5 years after inclusion. During follow up the incidence of second primary malignancies (SPM) and overall survival will be assessed.

NCT ID: NCT03105102 Active, not recruiting - Crohn's Disease Clinical Trials

A Study of the Efficacy and Safety of Risankizumab in Participants With Crohn's Disease

FORTIFY
Start date: April 9, 2018
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The study consists of 4 sub-studies, as follows: - Sub-study 1 (Randomized, double-blind, placebo controlled study) to evaluate the efficacy and safety of risankizumab versus placebo as maintenance therapy in participants with moderately to severely active Crohn's disease (CD) who responded to intravenous risankizumab induction treatment in Study M16-006 or Study M15-991; - Sub-study 2 (Randomized, exploratory maintenance study) to evaluate the efficacy and safety of two different dosing regimens for risankizumab as maintenance therapy in participants who responded to induction treatment in Study M16-006 or Study M15-991; - Sub-study 3 (Open-label, long-term extension study) to evaluate long-term safety of risankizumab in participants who completed Sub-study 1, Sub-study 2, another AbbVie risankizumab Crohn's disease study, or participants who responded to induction treatment in Study M16-006 or Study M15-991 with no final endoscopy due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Additional objectives are to further investigate long-term efficacy and tolerability of risankizumab; - Sub-study 4 (Open-label On Body Injector (OBI) administration and long-term extension study) to evaluate patient-reported outcomes, efficacy, safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics of risankizumab administered via OBI in participants who are receiving maintenance treatment with risankizumab. - OL CTE to ensure uninterrupted care in accordance with local regulations until risankizumab is commercially available for participants who completed Sub-study 3, Sub-study 4.

NCT ID: NCT03097406 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Proximal Humeral Fracture

Functional Outcome and Complications After Global Unite ® Prostheses

Start date: January 1, 2017
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This study aims to investigate the shoulder function of patients with osteoarthritis or a fracture of the upper extremity after surgery with the Global Unite shoulder system. The majority of fractures of the humerus are non-surgically treated, but for the complex cases where the fracture is irreparable (1), the treatment choice is a shoulder prosthesis called a hemiarthroplasty. Hemiarthroplasty has been associated to less pain and more quality of life , (2,3) but no difference in range of motion is reported when compared to non-surgically treatment of complex humeral fractures. (2,3,4) One of the important steps in surgery of a fractured humerus is the fixation of the bone fragments in an anatomically correct position as previous studies have shown that complications related to the fixation and healing of bone fragments occurred in 11 % of patients treated with a hemiarthroplasty . The Global Unite hemiarthroplasty introduces a new feature, which allows the surgeon to more closely attach the bone fragments. Patients with osteoarthritis and fractures of the humerus will be included from two hospitals, Herlev and Køge University Hospital. A total of 88 patients, 44 osteoarthritis and 44 fracture patients, are included. The patients will be followed two years after surgery and will be seen a total of four times postoperatively, where the function of the shoulder will be examined by questionnaires concerning shoulder function and quality of life, by a motion examination and by x-ray. The outcome of these examinations will be compared to the functional outcome of patients that have received different shoulder prostheses for the same diagnoses at Herlev and Køge University Hospital. The patients will undergo two radiographic scans after surgery, to determine whether or not bone fragments remain in an anatomically correct position in the patients with a fracture of the proximal humerus. A special focus will be on the function of the shoulder in patients with bone fragments that are not in an anatomically correct position. Furthermore, complications and the need of reoperation were registered during the two-year follow-up period. The aims of this study is to - Determine the function of the shoulder in patients receiving the Global Unite prosthesis due to either osteoarthritis or fracture of the humerus. - To compare these results with results from patients previously treated with a different prosthesis designs - To determine the influence of the fixation of bone fragments in the postoperative function in fracture patients.

Pre Radiotherapy Daily Exercise Training in Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer

PRIME
Start date: April 3, 2017
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The aim of this study is to evaluate the feasibility and the effect of daily, individual, supervised and structured exercise training before radiotherapy in patients diagnosed with Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer. Primary outcome is maximal oxygen uptake (VO2peak). The hypotheses are that patients who undergo daily exercise training will increase VO2peak, functional capacity (measured by 6-minute walk test (6MWD)) and lung function (forced expired volume in one second (FEV1)).
