NCT ID: NCT00427115 Completed - Leukemia Clinical Trials

Multimodal Intervention in Allogeneic Stem Cell Transplantation

Start date: August 2005
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

Objective: To evaluate the feasibility and safety of a 4-6 weeks exercise - psycho-educational intervention in patients undergoing allogeneic stem cell transplantation (allo-HCST). The intervention included structured and supervised exercise, relaxation and psycho-educational components. It was hypothesized that the intervention would minimize loss of physical capacity during hospitalization.

NCT ID: NCT00427063 Completed - Clinical trials for Retinopathy of Prematurity

Heredity of Retinal Vessel Tortuosity

Start date: January 1998
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

The purpose of this study is to asses the relative influence of genetic and environmental influence on the tortuosity of retinal arterioles in eyes of 218 healthy Danish twins aged 20-46 years. We expect to find a high heredity for the variation in tortuosity. This knowledge can contribute to the elucidation of the pathology in retinal diseases.

NCT ID: NCT00426907 Completed - Clinical trials for Osteoarthritis, Knee

Weightbearing After High Tibial Osteotomy

Start date: January 2007
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

In this project we want investigate the clinical results after different rehabilitation regimens(Limited or unlimited weightbearing after surgery) in Open-wedge High Tibial Osteotomies. The hypothesis is that unlimited weightbearing is beneficial for the healing and rehabilitation.

NCT ID: NCT00426868 Completed - Clinical trials for Coronary Artery Disease

A Randomized Clinical Trial of Adipose-derived Stem Cells in Treatment of Non Revascularizable Ischemic Myocardium

Start date: January 2007
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to establish safety and feasibility of utilizing Adipose Derived Stem & Regenerative Cells (ADRCs) in patients who have areas of myocardium that are not revascularizable and have demonstrated reversible ischemia.

NCT ID: NCT00426803 Completed - Clinical trials for Acquired Bleeding Disorder

Recombinant Factor VIIa in Acute Intracerebral Haemorrhage

Start date: August 2002
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This trial is conducted in North America, Europe, Asia and Oceania. The purpose of this study is to evaluate safety and efficacy of Recombinant Factor VIIa in patients with acute intracerebral bleeding.

NCT ID: NCT00426543 Completed - Fatigue Clinical Trials

Effect of B-cell Depletion in Patients With Primary Sjögren's Syndrome

Start date: January 2007
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The primary purpose of the study is to determine whether B-cell depletion with Rituximab has an effect on the oral, ocular and general disease manifestations in patients with primary Sjögren´s syndrome, that is, an effect on the symptoms of oral and ocular dryness, improvement of the glandular function and a beneficial effect on the general symptoms such as fatigue. The secondary purpose of the study is the investigate the underlying autoimmune and pathophysiological mechanisms in Sjögren´s syndrome.

NCT ID: NCT00425776 Completed - Breast Cancer Clinical Trials

Treatment of Hot Flushes in Breast Cancer Patients With Acupuncture

Start date: February 2007
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

In a randomized 3-group clinical study acupuncture is used for the relief of menopausal hot flushes and sleep disturbances in women treated for breastcancer. The three groups consists of 35 women given acupuncture once a week five times and 35 women given shamacupuncture once a week five times and 35 women with no kind of treatment. Se-estradiol and endorphin is measured before and after the acupuncture. We want to state that acupuncture given five times once a week has a significant better effect on hot flushes and sleeping disturbances than shamacupuncture or no treatment at all. We also want to measure if there are any changes in se-estradiol and endorphine

NCT ID: NCT00424957 Completed - Cirrhosis Clinical Trials

Brain Energy Metabolism in Patients With Chronic Liver Disease and Impaired Central Nervous System

Start date: November 2006
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

The purpose of the current study is to look into the pathogenesis of a severe medical condition causing acute episodes on the central nervous system as seen in majority of patients with liver cirrhosis.

NCT ID: NCT00423527 Completed - Multiple Sclerosis Clinical Trials

Levetiracetam in Central Pain in Multiple Sclerosis(MS)

Start date: January 2007
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

Multiple sclerosis is often associated with pain. There is no standard treatment of this type of pain. Levetiracetam is a new anticonvulsant and it is the hypothesis that it could relieve central pain in multiple sclerosis. This is a randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled, cross-over trial on the effect of levetiracetam 3000 mg daily on pain in multiple sclerosis.

NCT ID: NCT00423319 Completed - Pulmonary Embolism Clinical Trials

Study of an Investigational Drug for the Prevention of Thrombosis-related Events Following Hip Replacement Surgery (ADVANCE-3)

Start date: March 2007
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to learn whether apixaban can prevent the blood clots in the leg (deep vein thrombosis) and lung (pulmonary embolism) that sometimes occur after hip replacement surgery and to learn how apixaban compares with enoxaparin in preventing these clots. The safety of apixaban will also be studied
