There are about 28871 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Canada. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Objective: To evaluate whether or not cases treated with Intensive Short-term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP) facilitate healthcare cost reduction, whether any observed reduction is greater than that of a control group and whether any such gains would be maintained in follow up. Design: A quasi-experimental design was employed in which pre and post healthcare cost and usage data were extracted for all ISTDP treated cases from 1999 to 2008 and compared to parallel measures of a control group of cases referred but never treated.
The purpose of this study is to be able to better describe the incidence, timing and severity of myocardial dysfunction and acute kidney injury (AKI) following a documented respiratory viral illness (RSV, adenovirus, metapneumovirus, parainfluenza, influenza, etc.) in pediatric patients.
Despite effective ART that can suppress both HIV and HBV, HBV-related liver disease remains a significant co-morbidity in this population. Little is known about the histologic spectrum of liver disease, the significance of complete vs. incomplete HBV suppression, the utility of novel virologic and serum markers of disease severity, and the long-term renal and bone effects of TDF-based therapy. This proposal will address these important questions and impact the science and health of those coinfected with HBV-HIV.
Phenylketonuria (PKU) is a genetic disorder known to cause severe reduction in intelligence and deficits in cognitive function; it is associated with an elevated level of Phenylalanine (Phe) in blood. Newborn screening and early treatment with restricted protein diet supplemented by a formula of amino-acids will preserve intelligence. In those with the severe form treated from birth, some deficits that affect higher functions of the brain are seen. Given this, there is disagreement about how milder forms of this disease should be managed and what level of Phe is safe to be left untreated. We seek to assess whether higher Phe levels, between 360 and 600µmol/L, are safe with respect to preservation of intelligence and higher cognitive functions.
To evaluate and compare the relative bioavailability and therefore the bioequivalence of two different formulations of donepezil after a single oral dose administration under fasting conditions.
The purpose of this study is to investigate whether pain control for patients with chronic pain is improved by the availability of structured telephone consultations between the patients' family physicians and pain physicians, compared to pain control for patients receiving usual care.
To evaluate and compare the relative bioavailability and therefore the bioequivalence of two different formulations of donepezil after a single oral dose administration under fed conditions.
This trial is conducted globally. The aim of the trial is to examine the dose range, escalation and efficacy of oral semaglutide in subjects with type 2 diabetes.
The purpose of the study was to determine whether treatment with a PI3K inhibitor plus letrozole led to an increase in pathologic clinical response and Objective Response Rate compared to treatment with placebo plus letrozole in patients with Breast cancer.
To compare the efficacy of flexible dosing of brexpiprazole with placebo in subjects with agitation associated with dementia of the Alzheimer's type
