There are about 28871 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Canada. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The purpose of this study is to learn whether PPM-204 has an effect on lowering blood glucose (blood sugar) levels and is safe in treating people with type 2 diabetes.
The purpose of this study is to find out whether homeopathic potassium dichromate will decrease the time on the breathing machine and the amount of phlegm that you produce in your lungs. In addition, this study will look at whether participants spend less time in a critical care unit and if the chances of being placed back on a breathing machine can be lessened.
The purpose of the Optimize RV study is to determine the long-term effect of selective site pacing. Selective site pacing refers to which area of the right ventricle the lead is placed. The goal of select site pacing is to improve how the heart contracts when paced in the ventricle. By pacing in select sites, it is possible to better copy the natural pattern of contraction of the heart.
To evaluate the hemostatic efficacy of a low dose platelet transfusion strategy compared to a standard dose platelet transfusion strategy.
To assess progression-free survival at the combination dose determined in the Phase 1 portion of the study, and safety of sunitinib combined with exemestane in patients with metastatic or locally-recurrent, unresectable breast cancer.
To determine if instillation of tissue plasminogen activator into a percutaneously drained intra-abdominal abscess cavity results in faster resolution of the abscess compared to normal standard of care.
The objectives of this pilot study are: (i) to compare response to chemotherapy, time to disease progression and overall survival in patients with pancreatic cancer who will be treated with gemcitabine (or other nucleoside analogs) who demonstrate [18]F-FLT uptake to those patients who do not demonstrate [18]F-FLT uptake; (ii) to correlate [18]F-FLT uptake with hENT1 expression in biopsy samples where available; (iii)to determine the presence or absence of uptake, the relative uptake score (RUS), standardized uptake value (SUV), and tumor to background ratios (T/B) of [18]F-FLT in patients with known carcinoma of the pancreas and assess this uptake in relation to time to disease progression; and (iv) to demonstrate the safety of [18]F-FLT.
The purpose of this clinical research study is to learn if abatacept can improve signs and symptoms of active Crohn's Disease in patients who have not had an adequate response to other therapies. The safety of this treatment will also be studied.
Primary objective: To determine the effect of Rimonabant 20mg on the co-primary endpoint including Fasting Plasma Glucose (FPG), HDL-Cholesterol (HDL-C) and triglyceride (TG) levels over a period of 12 months when prescribed with a mild hypocaloric diet in abdominally obese patients with impaired fasting blood glucose and with or without associated comorbidities. Main Secondary objectives: To determine the effect of 12 months Rimonabant treatment versus placebo on changes in waist circumference (WC), body weight, glycemic parameters and lipid parameters. To assess the safety of 12 months Rimonabant treatment versus placebo in these patients.
This study will evaluate the efficacy, safety and tolerability of two dosages of a new drug TPI ASM8 administered by inhalation for 14 days to mild to moderate asthmatic patients, aged between 18-65, non-smokers . The study will also look at the nature and quantity of inflammatory white cells in the lung secretions and in the blood, and some additional inflammation markers.
