A Study of Sequential Treatment With Daivobet (Betamethasone Dipropionate Plus Calcipotriol) and Daivonex (Calcipotriol) in Patients With Psoriasis.

Start date: February 2007
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

This single arm study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of sequential treatment with Diavobet (betamethasone propionate 0.5mg/g plus calcipotriol hydrate 50 micrograms/g) once daily for 4 weeks followed by Daivonex (calcipotriol hydrate 50 micrograms/g) twice daily for 4 weeks, in the control of signs and symptoms in patients with mild to moderate psoriasis. Only patients showing a >50% response to Daivobet will progress to the Daivonex maintenance phase. The anticipated time on study treatment is <3 months, and the target sample size is 100-500 individuals.

NCT ID: NCT00437112 Completed - Clinical trials for Diabetes Mellitus, Type 2

Evaluate the Efficacy and Safety of Insulin Compared to Glargine in Patients With Type 2 Diabetes

Start date: February 2007
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

A study to compare Human Inhalation Powder (also known as AIR® Inhaled Insulin) (AIR® is a registered trademark of Alkermes, Inc.)with insulin glargine injections in patients with Type 2 diabetes who are currently taking oral medications and have not previously taken insulin. NCT ID: NCT00435825 Completed - Clinical trials for Hepatitis B, Chronic

A Study of PEGASYS (Peginterferon Alfa-2a (40KD)) in Patients With Hepatitis Be Antigen (HBeAg) Positive Chronic Hepatitis B (CHB).

Start date: March 2007
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

This 4 arm study will compare the efficacy and safety of PEGASYS given for 24 or 48 weeks, and at doses of 90 or 180 micrograms weekly, in the treatment of HBeAg positive patients with chronic hepatitis B. Patients will be randomized to one of 4 treatment groups: a)PEGASYS 90 micrograms subcutaneous (sc) weekly for 24 weeks, b)PEGASYS 180 micrograms sc weekly for 24 weeks, c)PEGASYS 90 micrograms sc weekly for 48 weeks or d)PEGASYS 180 micrograms sc weekly for 48 weeks. Following treatment there will be a 24 week period of treatment-free follow-up in all treatment groups for the primary endpoint. The anticipated time on study treatment is 3-12 months, and the target sample size is 500+ individuals.

NCT ID: NCT00435643 Completed - Obesity Clinical Trials

Influence of nCPAP on Metabolic Consequences Associated With OSAS

Start date: October 2004
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Context: Obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) is associated with cardiovascular morbidity. Recurrent episodes of occlusion of upper airways during sleep result in hormonal changes that may predispose to high cardiovascular risk. These risks can rapidly be reduced by effective nasal continuous positive airway pressure (nCPAP) therapy Objective: To evaluate hypothalamic pituitary adrenal axis, insulin resistance, blood pressure values and adipokines in severe obese patients with and without OSAS and to determine if continuous positive airway pressure therapy (nCPAP) influenced responses.

NCT ID: NCT00435162 Completed - Hypertension Clinical Trials

Dose Response of Valsartan on Sitting Systolic Blood Pressure in Children 6 Months - 5 Years of Age With High Blood Pressure

Start date: March 2007
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of three doses of valsartan (0.25, 1.0, and 4.0 mg/kg) on mean sitting systolic blood pressure (MSSBP) and mean sitting diastolic blood pressure (MSDBP) in 6 months - 5 year old children with hypertension (sitting systolic blood pressure [SSBP] ≥ 95th percentile ).
