Follow-up of Cancer Patients Receiving Immune Checkpoint Inhibitor Therapy by Electronic Patient Reported Outcomes-tool

Electronic patient reported outcome (ePRO) tools have improved survival and quality of life (QoL) of cancer patients receiving chemotherapy, and in the follow-up of lung cancer patients. Current study investigates electronic patient reported outcome tool in the follow-up of cancer patients receiving immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy. Current study aims to evaluate 1) patient reported symptoms and their severity, 2) Number of triggered alerts by the tool and their correlation to treatment side-effects, cancer progression, other medical events or survival, 3) Correlation between different symptoms and the correlation of symptoms to treatment side-effects, cancer progression, other medical events or survival,4) QoL of patients and correlation of changes in QoL to treatment side-effects, cancer progression, other medical events or survival, 5) Patient compliance, 6) Correlation of baseline laboratory values to treatment side-effects, cancer progression, other medical events or survival.

The litterature has demonstrates that physical activity can play an important role in decreasing patient mortality rates and increasing its well-being at all time of cancer. Despite this evidence, there is a weak adhesion in patients. It is therefore appropriate to look and see which may explain the high prevalence of physical inactivity in patients with cancer. The main objective of this study will be to recognize psychological and social factors which could explain the commitment or not to a physical activity in cancer patients. Besides the physical limitations related to the cancer and its treatment, socio-economic and psycho-social factors can often play an extremely important role in engagement or maintenance of sporting activity.

The PIONEER Initiative: Precision Insights On N-of-1 Ex Vivo Effectiveness Research Based on Individual Tumor Ownership (Precision Oncology)

The PIONEER Initiative stands for Precision Insights On N-of-1 Ex vivo Effectiveness Research. The PIONEER Initiative is designed to provide access to functional precision medicine to any cancer patient with any tumor at any medical facility. Tumor tissue is saved at time of biopsy or surgery in multiple formats, including fresh and cryopreserved as a living biospecimen. SpeciCare assists with access to clinical records in order to provide information back to the patient and the patient's clinical care team. The biospecimen tumor tissue is stored in a bio-storage facility and can be shipped anywhere the patient and the clinical team require for further testing. Additionally, the cryopreservation of the biospecimen allows for decisions about testing to be made at a later date. It also facilitates participation in clinical trials. The ability to return research information from this repository back to the patient is the primary end point of the study. The secondary end point is the subjective assessment by the patient and his or her physician as to the potential benefit that this additional information provides over standard of care. Overall the goal of PIONEER is to enable best in class functional precision testing of a patient's tumor tissue to help guide optimal therapy (to date this type of analysis includes organoid drug screening approaches in addition to traditional genomic profiling).

Role of Genomic Imprinting in Cancer Diagnosis

The current research focus for cancer diagonosis is classical genetics, named "driving genes". However, not all cancer patients have typical genetic alterations, especially at early stage. In the past dacades, accumulating evidences have revealed that more than 80% diseases are closely related to epigenetic changes. The normally silenced copy of imprinted genes are reactivated at early stage of cancers, and finally proceed to copy number variation. This study will screen for a panel of imprinted genes and build quantitative models to assist the diagnosis of multiple cancers.
