There are more than 498,563 clinical trials published worldwide with over 60,000 trials that are currently either recruiting or not yet recruiting. To prepare for a large scale-up study, the goal of this pilot implementation trial is to examine the feasibility of Movement-to-Music (M2M©) delivery mechanisms through two channels: 1) a group-based M2M© program conducted onsite at a local YMCA; and 2) a blended program that provides Y-M2M© and a home-based M2M© (B-M2M©) via videoconferencing. A key element of this pilot is to examine issues associated with participant-provider interactions, and to better understand the robustness of the technology to deliver a group-based (teleexercise) version of M2M© in the home setting.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate if study drug mirikizumab is safe and effective compared to vedolizumab and placebo in participants with moderately to severely active ulcerative colitis (UC).
In this 30-month study, the investigators propose to develop a culturally appropriate vaccine confidence intervention, targeting positive change related to HPV vaccine uptake behavior and reducing sentiments of hesitancy towards a COVID-19 vaccine, that can be seamlessly integrated into the existing environment of pediatric and family practice clinics in rural Alabama. To do so, the investigators will first assess stakeholders' knowledge, sentiments, and beliefs related to vaccination in general, a COVID-19 vaccination, and the HPV vaccination. The investigators will also assess stakeholders' perceptions of barriers to vaccination that exist in rural Alabama. This will occur in Aim 1. Then, in Aim 2, the investigators will use these data to inform the development of a non-invasive, modular synchronous counseling intervention targeting 15-17 year old adolescents (rationale for this age range presented later in this proposal). After the intervention has been finalized, in our final aim, Aim 3, we will conduct a hybrid type 1 effectiveness-implementation cluster randomized control trial to assess intervention acceptability and feasibility (N=4 clinics; N=120 adolescents), while also assessing for a "clinical signal" of effectiveness. To support dissemination and scale up, also during Aim 3, we will document implementation contexts to provide real-world insight. To do this, the investigators will conduct in-depth interviews with the same groups of stakeholders that we interviewed in Aim 1.
Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is increasingly recognized in patients with squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck (SCCHN). The prevalence prior and after cancer therapy is not well understood. OSA is identified as a contributing factor for daytime somnolence and quality of life (QOL), yet treatment of OSA in the SCCHN population has not been studied. The investigators hope to identify the disease course of sleep apnea, risk factors for development, and impact on QOL with treatment of OSA in a population of patients with SCCHN.
The purpose of this prospective, multi-center, randomized, triple-blind, sham-controlled study with parallel economic evaluation is to test the analgesic superiority of BurstDR-SCS compared to sham stimulation using both traditional patient-reported pain outcome measures and objective physiologic data collected from patient-worn biosensors. The endpoints associated with these objectives will be studied across a follow-up period of 6 months.
RATIONALE: Radiolabeled monoclonal antibodies can locate tumor cells and deliver tumor-killing substances to them without harming normal cells. This may be an effective treatment for gastrointestinal cancer. PURPOSE: Phase I trial to study the effectiveness of radiolabeled monoclonal antibody therapy in treating patients who have gastrointestinal cancer.
This is a clinical feasibility study to assess the value of MR imaging for obtaining functional, dynamic and anatomical information in a comprehensive imaging protocol in subjects having obstructive uropathy.
The purpose of this study is to determine if breast imaging with ultrasound can be improved by using 1) a ultrasound attachment with two transducers and 2) a contrast agent. These changes might allow smaller blood vessels to be seen than under the way breast ultrasound is usually performed.
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining more than one drug may kill more tumor cells. It is not yet known whether cisplatin is more effective when combined with paclitaxel or gemcitabine in treating cervical cancer. PURPOSE: Randomized phase III trial to compare the effectiveness of cisplatin combined with paclitaxel to that of cisplatin combined with gemcitabine in treating women who have recurrent, persistent, or metastatic cervical cancer.
The purpose of this research study is to obtain experience in the use of fondaparinux (Arixtra) as compared to heparin when administered to patients who undergo percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). PCI is a mechanical procedure used to widen the narrowing in a coronary artery in patients with symptomatic coronary artery disease. Fondaparinux and heparin are drugs that inhibit blood clotting.
