NCT ID: NCT06363357 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Muscular Dystrophy, Duchenne

The Effect of a Muscle-mimicking, Fabric-type Shoulder Orthosis on Functional Movements of the Upper Limb in Patients With Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy

Start date: April 20, 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this clinical trial is to investigate the effect of a muscle-mimicking, fabric-type shoulder orthosis on functional movements of the upper limb in patients with Duchenne muscular dystrophy. The main questions it aims to answer are: - What is the impact of the muscle-mimicking, fabric-type shoulder orthosis on upper limb functional movements in patients with Duchenne muscular dystrophy? - Are there observable differences in upper limb function when the shoulder orthosis is worn versus when it is not? Participants will: - Receive education on how to wear and use the shoulder orthosis. - Undergo evaluations, including assessment of upper limb performance, shoulder muscle strength testing, active range of motion measurements, assessment of functional workspace, goal attainment scale evaluation, surface electromyography, physiological measurements such as blood pressure and heart rate, fatigue assessment, and assessment for any musculoskeletal or skin-related issues. Researchers will compare Duchenne muscular dystrophy patients before and while wearing and operating the shoulder orthosis to see if there are any significant effects on variables such as upper limb function, range of motion, functional workspace, goal attainment scale, and surface electromyography.

NCT ID: NCT06365944 Recruiting - Brain Concussion Clinical Trials

Concussion in French Non-professional Handball League : Efficiency of a Concussion Protocol, the White Card Process

PRECCOCE
Start date: April 20, 2024
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Sport related concussion is a major issue for many contact sports, such as Rugby, Football, Hockey and Handball. As a response, some federations like World Rugby set up a concussion protocol, that starts with the referee having the responsibility to issue a blue card when suspecting a concussed player and thus have him off the field for medical examination. The French handball federation (FFHB) as well as its concussion protocol called "Protocole carton blanc", in this study we aim to describe the efficiency of this protocol.

NCT ID: NCT06371469 Recruiting - Health Behavior Clinical Trials

Program of Health Behaviour Against to Cancer (PHeBAC)

PHeBAC
Start date: April 20, 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The European Code Against Cancer contains 12 recommendations to reduce the risk of cancer. It is estimated that about half of all cancers could be prevented if all recommendations are followed. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of the Program of Health Behaviour Against Cancer (PHeBAC) applied to mothers of children with intellectual disabilities in increasing the participation of mothers and their children with intellectual disabilities in cancer screenings and their health behaviors against cancer. The goal is to improve the preventive health behaviors of children with intellectual disabilities and their mothers against cancer and to increase the rate of participation in cancer screenings. Specific targets are; not smoking and not being exposed to smoking, increasing physical activity, healthy nutrition, limiting alcohol consumption, protection from sunlight, HPV vaccination and increasing participation in breast, cervical and colorectal cancer screenings.

NCT ID: NCT06392620 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Ankylosing Spondylitis

Telerehabilitation in Ankylosing Spondylitis

Start date: April 20, 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS) is an inflammatory rheumatic disease primarily affecting the spine and sacroiliac joint. xercise is one of the most important nonpharmacologic treatment modalities in AS. Stretching, strengthening, aerobic, posture, balance and moltimodal exercise methods are the most commonly used treatment methods. The study will include 44 patients diagnosed with AS aged 18-65 years. Patients will be divided into two randomized controlled groups with 22 patients in each group. Group 1 will receive a personalized exercise program including stretching, strengthening, respiratory, aerobic and posture exercises via video conferencing. Group 2 will be recommended a video on the YouTube platform and will be asked to perform the exercises by following the content of these videos. Spinal mobility will be assessed with Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Metrology Index, disease activity with Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Disease Activity Index, function with Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Function Index, quality of life with Ankylosing Spondylitis Quality of Life Scale and posture with PostureScreeen mobile application.
