Percutaneous Cryoablation of Low-risk Early Breast Cancer

Expand the current evidence base regarding percutaneous cryoablation of early-stage, low-risk breast tumors, integrated into the standard therapeutic pathway with well-defined follow-up data, as well as data on quality of life. Demonstrate, therefore, that the use of percutaneous cryoablation in the treatment of low-risk breast carcinoma is not inferior to surgery when combined with adjuvant radiotherapy and chemotherapy (when necessary). The hypothesis is that cryoablation, being simple and oncologically effective, ensures a better quality of life for the patient (reduced morbidity, no need for general anesthesia, improved cosmetic outcomes) and consequently has a lesser psychological impact, as well as a better cost-benefit ratio compared to the standard surgical approach.

Geriatric Locomotive Syndrome and Related Factors in Older Adults

It has been stated that the results of physical function and physical performance affecting locomotive syndrome in elderly individuals are controversial and studies are still needed. However, no studies have been found examining its relationship with the decrease in physical activity level, decline in cognitive functions, kinesiophobia (fear of movement) and fatigue seen in old age. Early detection of locomotive syndrome risk factors in elderly individuals will help prevent this condition, detect the risk of falling in elderly individuals and increase their quality of life. Based on these deficiencies, it is aimed to examine the relationship between locomotive syndrome and kinesiophobia, physical activity level, physical performance, fatigue and cognitive functions in elderly individuals.

The purpose of this clinical study should be that, in the context of planned resections of glial brain tumors, pieces of tissue (biopsies) are removed from the tumor at several specific locations before the actual tumor resection takes place. The aim of these biopsies in advance to the actual tumor resection will be to receive tumor tissue samples not altered in such a way that it is no longer adequate for further treatment. If not adequate, a so-called "undergrading" could occur, which means that the biological structure of the tumor is misjudged and further therapy does not achieve the desired effect in the patient. On the one hand, certain tumor regions can drift due to a "brain shift" which leads to inaccurate tissue removal, and on the other hand samples are not altered by pressure or bleeding. To carry out these biopsies, a robot positioning device (AutoGuide®) will be used that has already been approved and tested for this type of intervention. The use of the AutoGuide® is intended to ensure that the tumor sample is taken with the greatest possible precision.

This study wants to make it easier to find kids with a type of epilepsy called childhood absence epilepsy (CAE) who might have problems with ongoing seizures and thinking. Right now, doctors use tests that can be expensive and take a long time. Eysz is developing a system that looks at how kids move their eyes which might help find CAE more quickly and accurately. This study will compare Eysz with the usual tests to see if it can predict seizures and thinking problems in kids with CAE. The goal is to find these problems earlier and help kids do better in school and life.

The purpose of this clinical trial is to investigate the efficacy and safety of continuous intravenous administration of low dose iloprost versus placebo for 72-hours, in 450 mechanically ventilated patients with infectious respiratory failure. The study hypothesis is that iloprost may be beneficial as an endothelial rescue treatment as it is anticipated to deactivate the endothelium and restore vascular integrity in patients suffering from respiratory failure caused by endothelial breakdown, ultimately improving survival.

The goal of this clinical trial is to assess whether a brief case management intervention aimed at promoting personal recovery and reducing the negative effects of coercion among people involuntarily admitted to a psychiatric hospital would be well accepted by them, practically feasible and useful. The main questions it aims to answer are: - Is the case management intervention acceptable and feasible? - What are the preliminary effects of the case management intervention on patients' personal recovery and its sub-dimensions, as well as on their level of perceived coercion and their global satisfaction with hospital care? Participants will be asked to take part in: - the five sessions of the case management intervention; - two evaluation sessions (pre and post-intervention); - a final in-depth semi-structured interview (optional).

The goal of this pre-intervention study is test the acceptability of Asian version of the Mediterranean diet to NAFLD patients. The main question[s] it aims to answer are: 1. Whether Asian version of the Mediterranean diet that retains the nutritional composition and can be developed by mapping the components of the Mediterranean diet and finding substitute ingredients commonly eaten in Southeast Asia. 2. Whether the 4-week menu cycle of newly developed novel Asian Mediterranean diet is acceptable among Singaporean local population. Participants will participate in taste test sessions to find out if the Asian Mediterranean diet meals are acceptable to people with NAFLD.
