Filter by:Background: Breast cancer is the type of cancer that mostly affects women in the world. Although physical and psychological side effects accompany cancer and the aggressiveness of the treatment, regular practice of physical exercise is considered a non-pharmacological tool to improve the quality of life of breast cancer survivors. The present study aims to evaluate the effects of aerobic training programs in aquatic and land environments plus a health education program, compared with a health education program alone, on cancer-related fatigue and other health-related outcomes in breast cancer survivors. Methods: The WaterMama trial is a randomized, single-blinded, three-arm, parallel, superiority trial. Forty-eight women, ≥18 years of age, who have completed primary treatment and been diagnosed with stage I-III breast cancer are recruited. Participants are randomly allocated on a 1:1:1 ratio to 12-week interventions of aerobic exercise training programs either on the aquatic or land environment two times per week plus health education, or an active-control group receiving health education intervention, once a week. Cancer-related fatigue (primary outcome), physical fitness (i.e., muscle strength of the knee extensors, muscle thickness and muscle quality of quadriceps, resting heart rate, maximum oxygen consumption, and performance in functional tests), mental health (i.e., depressive and anxiety symptoms), cognitive function, pain and quality of life are measured before and after 12 weeks of intervention. The analysis plan will use an intention-to-treat approach and protocol criteria. Discussion: The conceptual hypothesis is that both training programs plus health education positively affect cancer-related fatigue, physical fitness, mental health, cognitive function, pain, and quality of life compared to the health education group alone. Additionally, it is expected that the aquatic program plus health education to provide more significant effects on cancer-related fatigue and physical parameters due to its multi-component character, with a consequent greater positive impact on other investigated parameters in this group.
Breast surgeries are usually associated with sever postoperative pain ,good perioperative analgesic technique after breast surgery is always questionable .Thoracic epidural and paravertebral blocks became the gold standard techniques for pain relief ,however they may be associated with complications such as spinal cord injury, total spinal anesthesia ,inadvertent intravascular injection and pneumothorax . Recently , fascial plane blocks have been introduced as an alternative such as erector spinae plane block and serratus plane block Serratus plane block were introduced by Blanco et al where local anesthetic injected superficial to the muscle to provide nerve block of the lateral cutaneous branches of the intercostal nerves Rhomboid intercostal block is an interfascial plane block for chest wall analgesia, it was reported in 2016 as alternative to thoracic epidural and paravertebral blocks.
The study is a single-center, open, single-dose, self-controlled clinical trial. It is planned to enroll 24-30 subjects. Subjects will take the SHR6390 on Day1.
The primary aim of this prospective, multicentre study is to determine whether the involved node can be marked using black carbon dye and successfully identified at the time of surgery. The secondary aims are to determine the concordance between the tattooed node and sentinel node, migration of black dye into other nodes, and false-negative rate of tattooed node (in patients undergoing ALND after NACT).
Negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) could improve surgical outcomes and reduce complications like SSI, wound dehiscence and seroma in closed surgical wounds. To date, NPWT was not evaluated in patients undergoing breast conserving surgery without direct reconstruction.Therefore, the aim of this trial is to evaluate the feasibility of NPWT after surgery and its effects on postoperative complications.
This study examines TRPC6 in predicting and preventing chemotherapy related cardiac toxicity and heart failure in patients with breast cancer. Cardiac toxicity, changes in heart function is a well-recognized complication of certain cancer related therapies. Understanding these changes may allow early intervention against therapy-related cardiac toxicity and also identify novel therapeutic targets to protect patient long-term cardiac health. Studying samples of blood from patients with breast cancer in the laboratory may help doctors learn more about changes that occur in deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA), identify biomarkers related to cardiac toxicity, and prevent the development of therapy-induced cardiac toxicity in patients receiving chemotherapy.
This trial studies the efficacy and safety of cryoablation in patients with low risk, early stage breast cancer. Cryoablation is a method of killing a tumor by freezing it. The standard approach for patients with this kind of cancer is a lumpectomy. This study will review the safety of the cryoablation procedure initially, followed by comparing cryoablation to lumpectomy in order to see if the cryoablation results in better disease control, complication rates, and quality of life.
A prospective, multicenter, single-arm non-inferiority trial to demonstrate that breast cancer patients who are predicted to have a pathologic complete response on MRI and vacuum-assisted biopsy after neoadjuvant systemic therapy, and are omitted breast surgery have a non-inferior 5-year disease-free survival compared to those who had received breast surgery.

The potential cardiovascular toxicity of tumor treatment and its resulting cardiovascular events have gradually become an important health risk for tumor survivors. Prevention and early identification of cardiovascular toxicity has now become one of the bottlenecks in improving the prognosis of cancer patients. Compared to conventional echocardiographic indicators, new ultrasound technology based on speckle tracking imaging (STI) has shown superiority in the diagnosis, risk stratification and prognosis evaluation of cardiovascular diseases. Crocin, one of the main active components of saffron, has been found protective effect on cardiovascular toxicity in basic studies. This is a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, single-center clinical study to observe the effect of crocin on cardiovascular function caused by breast cancer treatment. One hundred and twenty breast cancer patients planning to undergo radiotherapy or chemotherapy will be included and randomly divided into a crocin group and a placebo group to observe the effect of total saffron tablets on cardiovascular function in patients with early breast cancer radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Participants will take crocin or placebo (4 tablets/time, 3 times a day) during each cycle of chemotherapy for 8 days, started on the 1st day before radiotherapy/chemotherapy. Follow-up was performed every 3 months after enrollment, and the follow-up period was 6 months. Primary study endpoints include the differences between groups in the difference in LVEF and GLS measured by echocardiography at the end of the experiment compared to baseline. Secondary study endpoint include the differences in the incidence rates of serum troponin exceeding the upper limit of normal value and NT-proBNP higher than the normal age reference value, the frequency and duration of chest tightness, chest pain and palpitation, the degree of arrhythmia and ST-T changes displayed by dynamic electrocardiogram, the other echocardiographic parameters (the E/e', global circumferential strain, global radial strain, 3D-GAS, LV torsion, LV rotation/derotation velocity, SDI, RVFWS, and indexes of left ventricular diastolic function and right ventricular function) at the end of the experiment compared to baseline between the two groups.
