MONOCENTRIC PERSPECTIVE STUDY: USE OF LIQUID BIOPSY WITH DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING

Evaluation of the diagnostic accuracy of Mammography in the morpho-structural analysis of mammographic images in breast cancer-diagnosed patients or patients in follow-up for breast cancer by extracting a number of features describing the texture and morphology of the lesions reported in the form of a structured report explicitly developed for the study. Correlation of the data obtained from evaluating the primary endpoint with the genetic/molecular analysis on liquid biopsy.

99mTc-MIRC213 SPECT/CT for the Detection of HER2-positive Breast Cancer

This is an open-label single photon emission tomography/computed tomography (SPECT/CT) study to investigate the imaging performance of 99mTc-MIRC213 in breast cancer patients. A single dose of 11.1-14.8Mega-Becquerel (MBq) per kilogram body weight 99mTc-MIRC213 will be injected intravenously. Visual and semiquantitative method will be used to assess the SPECT/CT images.

The goal of this phase II clinical trial is to improve the selection of patients with solid tumors who would benefit from effective treatment with HER2 targeted drugs. This will be achieved by examining patients with HER2 positive tumors in the esophagus or stomach or patients with advanced breast cancer with low HER2 expression (HER2low) with the HER2 specific positron emission tomography (PET) tracer ABY-025 (HER2-PET) and compare the imaging results with HER2 expression in tumor tissue derived from biopsies (reference standard).

Endocrine Therapy-Induced Alopecia in Postmenopausal and Premenopausal Female Breast Cancer Patients

This study evaluates endocrine therapy-induced alopecia among postmenopausal and premenopausal female patients with breast cancer. Alopecia is one of the most feared side effects of cancer-directed therapy, causing distress in women starting treatment for breast cancer. While alopecia is a well-known side effect of many chemotherapy drugs, it has also been reported by women undergoing endocrine therapy. Despite the frequent reports of alopecia related to endocrine therapy, hair loss is rarely reported as a side effect of endocrine therapy and the exact characterization of alopecia is not well understood. By having postmenopausal and premenopausal breast cancer patients describe their hair loss symptoms experienced while undergoing endocrine therapy, researchers may be able to better characterize the incidence, timing, duration, and severity of alopecia and whether the different types of endocrine therapy cause more or less trouble in this regard.
