Filter by:The overall goal of this education program is to increase breast and cervical cancer screening in low-income women in Puerto Rico through implementation of an evidence-based educational program that addresses both health professionals (promotoras or community health workers) and public audiences of low-income women living in Canóvanas, Puerto Rico who have either never been screened for breast and/or cervical cancer, or are under-screened according recommended guidelines. To evaluate promotoras' delivery of the CLS screening education program we used a randomized pre-post comparison group study design that will provide data to determine the effectiveness of the CLS intervention program compared with usual practice (no intervention).
The aim of this study is to compare and evaluate the safety and analgesic efficacy of ultrasound guided ESP block and ultrasound guided serratus anterior plane block in patients undergoing modified radical mastectomy.
This is a pilot study to estimate the success of the SmartClip device for accurate placement and reproducibility of intraoperative identification of in-breast lesions and for excision utilizing surgical navigation indicators.

The objective of this study is to demonstrate the feasibility and acceptability of the algorithm utilized within a cancer rehab program, named Comprehensive Oncology Rehabilitation and Exercise (CORE) program, among newly diagnosed stage I-III breast cancer survivors, providers, and clinic staff. Additionally, this study aims to generate preliminary estimates on the extent to which CORE, compared with standard of care (SOC), elicits engagement in exercise and impacts changes in physical function and quality of life within this population.

Axillary lymph nodes are the main site of metastasis in breast cancer. If positive axillary lymph nodes are present, an axillary lymph node dissection (ALND) is usually performed. This procedure improves disease-free survival but comes with the risk of lymphoedema as a result of disrupted lymphatic channels. Breast cancer-related lymphoedema (BCRL) is associated with considerable morbidity, which is why proven measures to reduce its incidence would improve patient outcomes. We aimed to investigate whether a regime of manual lymphatic drainage and exercise, supervised by a manual lymphatic drainage therapist compared to standard care would reduce the incidence of breast cancer-related lymphoedema in patients undergoing ALND.
