At least 42 patients between the ages of 30-65, who were followed up in Pamukkale University General Surgery Breast Polyclinic and planned for breast surgery, will be included in the study. Those who met the criteria for inclusion in the study and those who voluntarily agreed to participate in the study, who were preoperatively evaluated, will be randomly divided into two groups using the closed envelope method by matching age, gender, type of surgery and breast cancer stage. The first of these groups is the study (n=21) and the second is the control group (n=21).
Study to assess the capability of physicians (breast surgeons and pathologists) to recognize breast cancer in images of fresh lumpectomies generated with the Histolog Scanner, a recent large field-of-view confocal laser scanning medical imaging device.
This mixed methods study will involve obtaining user feedback on the first 4 weeks of the Healthy Habits for Cancer (HCC) Program. Short pre and post surveys and in-depth qualitative interviews will be conducted exploring their views on the app (features they liked and didn't like), the extent to which they believe the app would have to be further adapted, how they would feel about such an app being embedded in their cancer care and when in their care pathway they would like to be offered it.
A prospective and retrospective cohort study of patients with a documented pathogenic or likely pathogenic variants of TP53 were identified using blood DNA colection and breast cancer diagnosis by histological confirmation, between 1999 and 2022. All patients were followed by the Hereditary Group of a single cancer center (Instituto do Cancer do Estado de Sao Paulo). Patients were included if they had a histopathological diagnosis of localized invasive carcinoma or in situ carcinoma of the breast and with localized disease. Patients met Revised Chompret criteria, Li Fraumeni like syndrome, family member of carrier TP53 or hereditary breast and ovarian syndrome for germline test.
This study, which is designed according to the experimental model with randomized pre-test and post-test control group, will be carried out with Syrian women who apply to Empowered Migrant Health Center in İstanbul province, Sultanbeyli district, where Syria citizens are immigranted. The population of the study consisted of all Syrian women aged 40-69 under temporary protection who came to the Empowered Migrant Health Center at the time of the research. The working group will be composed of 80 Syrian women who meet the selection criteria. According to the sources, the frequency of breast cancer screening in Turkey is taken as 15%; For the study at 95% confidence level, d=0,6 was taken and n=136 sample size was taken. Considering that there may be those who left during the research period, 14 women will be taken as substitutes and the sample will be completed to a total of 150 in order to increase the power of representing the universe. A personal questionnaire prepared by the researcher in line with the literature, Health Belief Model Scale, Mammography Self-Efficacy Scale, Champion Breast Cancer Fear Scale, Breast Self Examination Checklist Form, will be administered to Syrian women under temporary protection who applied to the empowered migrant health center and agreed to participate in the study.According to the sample pool formed by the women included in the study, the participants were assigned to 2 groups as experiment and control with the "Research Randomizer" program. Each group will be determined as 75 people. A 4-week training program will be applied to the experimental group. The women in the experimental group will be given a self-breast examination control calendar after their first training. Afterwards, motivational interviews will be held once a month for the second and third months. A "Nurse-managed screening consultancy telephone support line" will be established for Syrian women within the scope of the Nurse Navigation Program. Reminder phone calls will be made 4 times a week. Personal questionnaire, Health Belief Model Scale, Mammography Self-Efficacy Scale, Champion Breast Cancer Fear Scale, Breast Self Examination Checklist Form, Post-Training Screening Behavior Follow-up Form will be administered to the experimental and control groups as a post-test.
VOICE project aims to guide health services in their reorganization towards the provision of the highest value care for the patient at the best cost. VOICE is targeted to patients with breast and lung cancer. The purpose is to offer a new innovative strategic framework based on value-based healthcare model to these patients in Europe. VOICE Community consists of 13 hospitals across Europe working collaboratively to implement this approach. The Community addresses what matters most to patients by measuring patient reported health outcomes in routine clinical practice on a systematic and long-term basis, by including patients´ perspective in clinical decision-making, improving patient empowerment and physician-patient communication, assessing the impact on costs of the processes implemented, identifying factors for a successful implementation of value-based healthcare and boosting knowledge generation and best practice exchange across Europe. The VOICE ambition is to collect the health-related Quality of Life evidence from more than 1000 patients (patients with breast cancer and patients with lung cancer), by means of health related and patient reported questionnaires (ICHOM, International Consortium for Health Outcome Measurements, standard sets). Hospitals will go further by assessing the satisfaction, acceptability, relationship with professionals or decision-making process with patients. The VOICE Community will benchmark health outcomes and related costs to improve care delivery of these patients.
Based on one focus group of caregivers and one group of patients treated by surgery for breast cancer this study is an attempt to identify the specific needs of this population and then develop the BEAUTIFY care pathway. This study aims to build a new multidisciplinary care pathway (BEAUTIFY = BrEast cAncer qUaliTy of lIfe aFter surgerY) with post-operative follow-up via electronic patient-reported outcomes of breast cancer surgery complications in order to optimize the quality of life of patients.
The investigators suggested ultrasound-assisted Carbon nanoparticle suspensions (CNSs) mapping had great clinical value in clinical application and might serve as a useful alternative to the dual-tracer-guided SLNB. The investigators designed this prospective, randomized controlled phase 3 trial, to compare the feasibility and diagnostic performance of ultrasound-assisted carbon nanoparticle suspensions mapping versus dual-tracer-guided sentinel lymph node biopsy in patients with early breast cancer.
