Filter by:Method: It was conducted in a randomized controlled experimental type. The population of the study consisted of 2426 women over the age of 20 living in a family health center in Erzurum between October 2021 and September 2022. The sample of the study consisted of 252 women with 0.05 margin of error and 95% confidence level, according to the sample size calculation formula used in cases where the universe is known. Within the framework of the exclusion criteria of the study, 52 women were excluded from the study and 200 women were included in the randomization.
The research sample consisted of 60 individuals, including the intervention group (n=30) and the control group (n=30), who received treatment at the Oncology Center of Sivas Cumhuriyet University Practice and Research Hospital. Personal Information Form, Pain Intensity Measurement-Visual Analog Scale, Rhodes nausea, vomiting and retching index, Beck Anxiety Inventory, FACT-G Quality of Life Scale were applied to the research data. Toxicity Rating Scale total score was recorded from the patient file. Within the scope of the research, a chemotherapy session for 10 weeks (5 sessions) with an interval of two weeks was made by the art expert of the art of marbling, accompanied by a ney concert. No intervention was made in the control group. Within the scope of the research, scale forms will be applied to both groups in the first interview, in the 3rd and 5th chemotherapy sessions of the patients. The data obtained from the study were uploaded to the SPSS (22.0) program and statistical evaluation was made.
Among postoperative complications in breast surgery, hematoma is the most common occurrence. While mostly self-limited, in some cases surgical revision is mandatory when hematoma occurs. Among percutaneous procedures, preliminary studies demonstrated the efficacy of vacuum-assisted breast biopsy(VAB) in evacuating breast hematomas. The aim of the present study is to investigate the efficacy of VAB system in evacuating hematoma, symptoms resolution, and avoidance of surgery. From January 2016 to January 2020 ≥25 mm symptomatic breast hematoma after breast conserving surgery(BCS) and percutaneous procedures were retrospectively enrolled from a perspective maintained database. Preoperative demographic and clinical data were collected. Hematoma maximum diameter, Estimated hematoma volume, total procedure time, and visual analog scale (VAS) score prior ultrasound(US) Vacuum-Assisted Evacuation (VAEv) were recorded. At one week VAS score, residual hematoma volume, and complications were recorded. Study outcomes were defined as clearance of ≥70% postoperative hematoma, symptoms resolution (assessed as patient report visual analog scale (VAS≤3)), and avoidance of surgery during follow-up.
Sentinel lymph node biopsy is important for staging in patients with breast cancer and changes the way of surgery. One of the most commonly used methods to find the sentinel lymph node during surgery is to apply blue dye around the areola and then search for the sentinel lymph node. Breast massage is recommended following administration of the blue dye. However, the necessity of this massage is controversial. In this study, investigators will try to find out whether massage of the breast after blue dye injection has any positive effect on finding the sentinel lymph node.
Preoperative identification of patients with pathologic complete response or residual disease in axilla can aid in tailoring subsequent axillary surgery including omission of axillary surgery based on tumor biology and response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy.
The goal of this randomised comparison study is to compare different bandage interface pressures in individuals with breast cancer related lymphedema The main questions it aims to answer are: - Is high or low bandage pressure effective in reducing edema and soft tissue thickness? - do bandages applied with high or low bandage pressure comprimise sleep, comfort or subjective benefit from treatment? Aim: This study was conducted to investigate the effect of education given at different times before a breast biopsy on anxiety, readiness for the procedure, pain, and satisfaction levels in women. Background: A breast biopsy is an invasive procedure that causes pain and anxiety. Patient education is an effective and evidence-based nursing intervention that reduces pain and anxiety levels. Design: The study is a single-center, uncontrolled randomized clinical trial. Method: Participants (n: 60) in the study were randomly assigned into three groups. The first group (n: 20) was given education about the breast biopsy 1-2 weeks before the procedure, the second group (n: 20) was given education on the day of the procedure, and the third group (n: 20) was given education at two different times, the first 1-2 weeks before the procedure and the second on the day of the procedure. Research data were collected by using a Descriptive Characteristics Form, the State Anxiety Inventory, and a Patient Assessment Form.
This aims to clinically validate, on a large population, a tumor detection aid software which has already been trained on a representative French population (from several hospital centers and liberals from several departments in the west and east of France). This population consists of 1000 patients who have been treated for breast cancer (histologically proven by breast biopsy) and whose investigators have mammograms performed at the time of diagnosis. The control population consists of the unaffected breast of each patient (with the exception of the rare cases of bilateral cancers). This innovative software has the main feature of recognizing healthy breast tissue, allowing the radiologist to focus on breast tissue at risk, improving the management of medical time and the management of "difficult" files.
In this study, color Doppler ultrasound diagnostic instrument and electronic grip device were used to determine the best grip strength of patients with tumor PICC catheterization, formulate precise and standardized grip strength training guidance for them, provide personalized functional exercise health education, and observe the impact of precise grip strength training guidance on Peripheral central venous catheter-associated thrombosis. To provide a reference for clinical prevention of Peripheral central venous catheter-associated thrombosis in the future.
