Filter by:According to the World Health Organization (WHO), by 2021 cardiovascular diseases (CVD) will be a public health problem, among them heart failure (HF), since this is a chronic disease, patients should be competent in their care. Despite the above, according to research conducted in Colombia, 59.7% of people with chronic noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) have a level of care competence considered not optimal; patients report not having sufficient knowledge of the disease or experience feelings of lack of tools for the management of symptoms and the challenges of post-hospitalization. The objective of the research is to determine the effect of the PLAN CUIDARTE on the caregiving competence of people with HF Methodology: Pre-posttest randomized clinical trial, with blinding of the participants, where the intervention "PLAN CUIDARTE" is applied and the initial and subsequent caregiving competence is evaluated in the comparison group and in the intervention group for pretest - posttest and between-group comparisons.
This study aims to examine the effect of acupressure on physiological parameters and anxiety levels in individuals diagnosed with Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS). H1-1: Acupressure applied to individuals diagnosed with ACS has an effect on the level of anxiety. H1-2: Acupressure applied to individuals diagnosed with ACS has an effect on blood pressure. H1-3: Acupressure applied to individuals diagnosed with ACS has an effect on heart rate. H1-4: Acupressure applied to individuals diagnosed with ACS has an effect on respiratory rate. H1-5: Acupressure applied to individuals diagnosed with ACS has an effect on the pain level. H1-6: Acupressure applied to individuals diagnosed with ACS has an effect on cortisol levels.
The purpose of the study is to investigate the effect of HBM-based education on CAM knowledge, attitudes, and health beliefs related to medication use among nursing students through a randomized controlled trial. Research hypotheses: Hypothesis 01: There is no effect of HBM-based education on CAM knowledge level among nursing students. Hypothesis 1: There is an effect of HBM-based education on CAM knowledge level among nursing students. Hypothesis 02: There is no effect of HBM-based education on CAM attitude level among nursing students. Hypothesis 2: There is an effect of HBM-based education on CAM attitude level among nursing students. Hypothesis 03: There is no effect of HBM-based education on health beliefs related to medication use among nursing students. Hypothesis 3: There is an effect of HBM-based education on health beliefs related to medication use among nursing students.
Restless Leg Syndrome, a progressive and recurrent chronic sensorimotor disorder that creates an irresistible urge to move the legs and a feeling of discomfort, is seen in 15.4-26.0% of pregnant women in our country. Restless Leg Syndrome has negative effects on sleep, mood, cognitive health, daily activities and behavior in pregnant women; It can also cause preeclampsia, difficult labor, and cesarean delivery. Therefore, it is important for pregnant women with Restless Leg Syndrome to be treated appropriately. It is recommended that pregnant women use non-pharmacological treatments as they are not risky for fetal health. Kinesio taping and manual lymphatic drainage methods are used non-pharmacologically to support venous-lymphatic drainage and manage pain. These methods are economical, reliable and easy to apply. However, no study has been found in which Kinesio taping or manual lymphatic drainage was applied to a patient group with Restless Leg Syndrome during or outside pregnancy. The aim of this project is to determine the effect of Kinesio taping and manual lymphatic drainage on Restless Legs Syndrome severity, sleep quality and psychological well-being in pregnant women with Restless Legs Syndrome.
The goal of this clinical trial is to examine the effect of virtual reality application on pain management, comfort, and care satisfaction in patients undergoing thyroidectomy-parathyroidectomy. The main questions it aims to answer are: 1. Does the use of virtual reality reduce the level of postoperative pain in patients undergoing thyroid and parathyroid surgery? 2. Does the use of virtual reality increase the postoperative comfort level in patients undergoing thyroid and parathyroid surgery? 3. Does the use of virtual reality increase the level of satisfaction after surgery in patients undergoing thyroid and parathyroid surgery? Participants in the experimental group watched a virtual reality video containing nature and sea images and music playing in the background for 15 minutes. Participants in the control group received routine clinical care after thyroidectomy and parathyroidectomy. The pain levels of the patients in the experimental group were lower, and the comfort level was higher than in the control group. There was no difference between the groups in terms of satisfaction level with nursing care.
The purpose of this study is to develop and evaluate a web-based nursing intervention aimed at increasing physical activity in people aged 65 years and older with coronary heart disease. This study aims to answer the following questions: 1. What are the needs of older adults living with coronary heart disease in terms of a web-based nursing intervention to help them increase their level of physical activity? 2. What is the acceptability (content, structure, usefulness) and feasibility (recruitment, retention, adherence, fidelity) of a web-based nursing intervention to support older adults living with coronary heart disease as they increase their level of physical activity? 3. What are the preliminary effects of the web-based nursing intervention on the physical activity level and quality of life of older adults living with coronary heart disease? 4. What are the qualitative impacts of the web-based nursing intervention as perceived by older adults on their physical activity level, quality of life, motivation, knowledge and self-efficacy? 5. How can the preliminary effects of a web-based nursing intervention, developed in response to the needs of older adults living with coronary heart disease, be illustrated by its impacts as perceived by older adults post-intervention? A web-based nursing intervention was developed based on the needs of seniors living with coronary heart disease. 30 older adults living with heart disease will take part in the 8-week intervention. The effects of the intervention will be evaluated on the physical activity level, quality of life, knowledge, motivation and self-efficacy of older adults.
The aim of this randomised controlled study was to examine the effect of peer counselling on first-year nursing students' perceptions of nursing image in orientation processes.The H0 hypothesis of the study is that there is no statistical difference between the scores of the image scale towards nursing between the experimental and control groups after the peer-assisted orientation process.
Workplace violence in hospitals and other health care settings is a troublesome issue and has severe consequences for the entire health care system. In recent years, workplace violence has made a great threat to nurse assistants. Therefore, violence prevention education is a part of medical personnel's job responsibility. However, a theory-based violence prevention education program for healthcare settings was limited. The aim of the study is to investigate the effects of experiential learning theory-based medical jujitsu training on perception on violence, attitude on violence, self-efficacy, and turnover intention among nurse assistants
The aim of this study was to determine the effect of shellac nail polish application on pulse oximetry measurements in healthy subjects. This study was planned as a prospective, self-controlled clinical research to determine the effect of shellac nail polish application on SpO2 and pulse values in healthy people. The population of the study will consist of women who had shellac nail polish application in a private beauty centre between June 2023 and December 2023. The minimum required sample size was calculated as 162 in G*Power (3.1.9.2) programme (α=0.05 (two-way), 1-β=0.95). The data will be collected with the data collection form prepared in line with the literature. Firstly, the personal information of the participants will be recorded in the data collection form. The middle finger of the left hand of each participant will be the treatment group and the little finger will be the control group. After the shellac nail polish is applied to the middle finger of the left hand, SpO2 and pulse values will be measured simultaneously with a pulse oximeter from the left hand middle finger and little finger of the participant and recorded on the data form. The data obtained from the study will be analysed using SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) for Windows 26.0 software.
