Spinal Cord Stimulation Pioneering Analgesia for Resilient Recovery in Post Intra-Thoracic Surgery Pain

SPARK
Start date: June 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of spinal cord stimulation in patients with post intra-thoracic surgery pain syndrome in a placebo-controlled, crossover, randomized clinical trial.

NCT ID: NCT06367998 Not yet recruiting - Neuropathic Pain Clinical Trials

Effect of Pregabalin on Shoulder Pain in Patients With Central Sensitization After Arthroscopic Rotator Cuff Repair

Start date: May 1, 2024
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

This study aims to investigate the effects of Pregabalin intake on shoulder pain management in patients with central sensitization undergoing arthroscopic rotator cuff repair. Although Pregabalin is known to be effective in controlling pain after shoulder arthroscopy, research on its efficacy in pain management for patients with central sensitization is scarce. Utilizing a list that identifies central sensitization, this study will explore whether Pregabalin can reduce postoperative pain in these patients and potentially improve joint mobility, emotional, and physical functioning. A prospective randomized study is planned, with inclusion criteria set for patients aged between 19 and 70 who have undergone arthroscopic rotator cuff repair. The study will compare clinical outcomes up to one year postoperatively between two groups of 38 patients each. The case group will receive standard postoperative medications (NSAIDs) plus Pregabalin oral intake from the day before surgery to six weeks postoperatively, while the control group will receive only the standard postoperative medications without Pregabalin.

NCT ID: NCT06353100 Active, not recruiting - Chronic Pain Clinical Trials

Chronic Pain in the General Population of Chile

RDC
Start date: January 1, 2023
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The present study seeks to follow up the cohort of adults representative of Chile's urban population whose levels of chronic pain were evaluated in March 2023 (baseline) as part of the Mental Health Thermometer (MHT) study. The study consists of a 12 month follow-up telephone interview to assess parameters of chronic pain (CP) and subtypes, mental and physical health, lifestyle and adversity and work characteristics. The study objectives are as follows: 1. Estimate the prevalence of CP and subtypes in the general population 2. Explore the association between mental health indicators, perceived work stress and presence of CP in the population. 3. Investigate the impact of CP (functional, occupational and social) among the subset of participants reporting CP 4. Describe the use of management strategies in those who suffer from CP.

NCT ID: NCT06330181 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Spinal Cord Injuries

Virtual Walking Therapy for Neuropathic Pain Following Incomplete Spinal Cord Injury

Start date: May 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to determine if playing a virtual reality walking game can help improve neuropathic pain in adults with incomplete spinal cord injury.

NCT ID: NCT06324123 Recruiting - Neuropathic Pain Clinical Trials

Observational Study Aimed at Evaluating the Trend of Neuropathic Pain

NEURATIL
Start date: June 9, 2023
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The present study aims to evaluate the trend of neuropathic pain in patients treated with Peacetil for a period of two months. Neuropathic pain will me assessed through the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) questionnaire score.

NCT ID: NCT06297915 Completed - Neuropathic Pain Clinical Trials

Infusion Treatments of Chronic Peripheral Neuropathic Pain

Start date: May 17, 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This study aimed to evaluate and compare the efficacy of ketamine and lidocaine infusion in patients with chronic peripheral neuropathic pain. Patients who received intravenous ketamine infusion and the other patient group who received intravenous lidocaine infusion were evaluated in the study. Pain scores and quality of life were assessed with scales before treatment at two weeks, two months, and six months after treatment.

NCT ID: NCT06292962 Completed - Diabetes Mellitus Clinical Trials

Evaluating the Impact of Vagus Nerve Stimulation on Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathic Pain

VNSDPN
Start date: October 1, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of the study is to investigate the effects of non-invasive invasive vagal nerve stimulation on diabetic peripheral neuropathic pain in people with diabetes.

NCT ID: NCT06290661 Recruiting - Neuropathic Pain Clinical Trials

Clinical Trial of the Safety and Efficacy of Peripheral Nerve Stimulation in the Treatment of Postherpetic Neuralgia.

Start date: February 9, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this clinical trial is to evaluate safety and efficacy of percutaneous peripheral nerve stimulation in patients with postherpetic neuralgia. The main questions it aims to answer are: 1. The efficacy of percutaneous peripheral nerve stimulation in patients with postherpetic neuralgia 2. The safety of percutaneous peripheral nerve stimulation in patients with postherpetic neuralgia Participants are going to undergo procedure that implant peripheral nerve stimulation electrode produced by Jiangsu CED Medtech Co., Ltd. Then the subjects, whose VAS scores decrease more 30% than baseline level, are classified into two groups randomly. One of the group receiving active stimulation called trial group and another receiving placebo stimulation called control group. All subjects are required to make their own subjects' pain diary to record VSA score before and after implantation until at the end of follow-up. Also, participants are asked to report use of analgesic medications, number of awakenings and adverse events. Researchers will compare pain scores between the two groups to see if peripheral nerve stimulation is effective to patients with postherpetic neuralgia.
