Filter by:This is a study in adults with various types of advanced cancer. The purpose of the study is to test a medicine called BI 754091 in combination with several other cancer medicines. BI 754091 is an immunotherapy. This means it may help the immune system fight cancer. Such therapies are also called immune checkpoint inhibitors. How long the participants are in the study depends on whether they benefit from treatment and whether they experience unacceptable side effects. The participants are put into different groups. Each group receives BI 754091 in combination with another medicine. The doctors check whether the tumors shrink or disappear. The doctors also check the general health of the participants.
More than 50% of intestinal NETs are metastatic at the time of diagnosis, the liver being the main affected organ in 50-90% of cases. Initial liver tumor burden and slope of the tumor growth rate are two major prognostic factors in patients with intestinal NETs, followed by tumor grade at pathology. They are used in routine practice by oncologists to adapt patient treatment. Unlike other tumors, most NETs metastases are slow-growing tumors. Previous studies have shown that approximately half of the patients diagnosed with liver metastases showed no progression over a period of 3 to 6 months. The aim of this non randomised retrospective cohort study is to investigate whether the volumetric monitoring of the total tumor burden compared to the RECIST 1.1 criteria (used in routine practice by radiologists) at baseline and early follow-up (3 to 6 months) is more suitable for NETs, making possible to predict the prognosis at the onset of the disease, and also allowing a better adaptation of the treatment. The secondary objectives are to evaluate if the initial volume of the liver tumor is a prognostic factor of time to progression, to correlate the initial liver tumor volume and the number of liver lesions to the blood concentration of Chromogranin A (CgA), the presence of extra-abdominal disease and to correlate the tumor growth rate (TGR) and KI 67 (%) at base-line.
GSK-3β is a potentially important therapeutic target in human malignancies. The Actuate 1801 Phase 1/2 study is designed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of 9-ING-41, a potent GSK-3β inhibitor, as a single agent and in combination with cytotoxic agents, in patients with refractory cancers.
Bone metastases are common in Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC). They most often occur during disease progression. It is thought that more than half of the patients with bone metastases will have at least 1 skeletal-related event (SRE, i.e. pathological fractures, medullary compression, analgesic radiotherapy, preventive and/or analgesic surgery and hypercalcemia). Expert and medical Society guidelines, notably European Society for Medical Oncology in 2014, then in 2016, recommended using anti-resorptive agents (bisphosphonates or denosumab) to prevent SREs, attenuate pain and improve the quality of life, and decrease the medical-economic impact of this major metastatic site. Denosumab was accorded marketing authorization in France in 2011 as an anti-resorptive agent for bone metastases to delay the occurrence of SREs in lung-cancer patients. Immunotherapy, notably immune-checkpoint inhibitors, like nivolumab (anti-programed death-1), has recently become an integral part of the therapeutic arsenal against NSCLCs. Nivolumab was accorded marketing authorization based on the phase III CHECKMATE 017 (squamous cell NSCLCs) and CHECKMATE 057 (non-squamous cell NSCLCs) trials versus docetaxel, after the phase II CHECKMATE 063 trial. The denosumab-nivolumab combination is commonly used in current practice but has not been evaluated prospectively. The aim of this trial is to evaluate the combination of denosumab and nivolumab in second line of NSCLC with bone metastases.
This study evaluates the efficacy of Lymfactin® in patients with secondary lymphedema associated with the treatment of breast cancer by comparing the effects of active study treatment Lymfactin® to placebo. The study product will be administered in combination with a surgical lymph node transfer operation. In addition, the safety and tolerability of the Lymfactin® treatment will be evaluated.

This study will attempt to determine the efficacy of checkpoint inhibitor immunotherapy with nivolumab and ipilimumab combination therapy followed by nivolumab monotherapy in patients with metastatic prostate cancer and other tumor solid tumor histologies harboring loss of CDK12 function as well as monotherapy nivolumab treatment in patient with metastatic prostate cancer harboring loss of CDK12 function.
A proportion of prostate cancer (PCa) patients develop relapse following curative local treatment. Regional nodal recurrence is an emerging clinical situation since the introduction of new molecular imaging methods in the restaging of recurrent prostate cancer. More specifically, a subgroup of these patients is being diagnosed with a recurrence confined to the regional lymph nodes and limited in number (oligorecurrence) using choline or PSMA PET-CT. As there are no specific treatment recommendations for these type of patients, different treatment approaches are currently used, mostly focusing on local ablative treatments using radiotherapy or surgery. These treatments are coined metastasisdirected therapy (MDT). MDT in combination with or without temporary ADT could delay the subsequent risk of progression, and even cure limited regional nodal recurrences. Consequently, lifelong palliative ADT, with its toxicity and excess in non-cancer mortality might be postponed. The proposed trial randomizes patients with oligorecurrent nodal prostate cancer following primary PCa treatment to either metastasis-directed therapy (MDT) (salvage lymph node dissection, sLND or stereotactic body radiotherapy, SBRT) or MDT plus whole pelvis radiotherapy (WPRT: 45 Gy in 25 fractions).
The overall project aim is to study risk and outcomes following thoracic surgery by cross-linking high-quality national Swedish health-data registers for population-based investigations of individual level clinically relevant patient data.
