One thousand, six hundred forty-eight IVF patients undergoing ET with fresh embryos, randomized to receive mTVET (n=828) or UGET (n=820). The transfer in uteri of 1-2 embryos on day 2-3 of culture was performed using a soft catheter either under trans-abdominal US guidance (UGET group) or after measurement of uterine cavity by transvaginal US and calculation of the discharge site (mTVET). Mai outcome measures was the clinical pregnancy rate (CPR), secondary outcomes were the implantation rate (IR), and the patient's discomfort during ET procedure.

Prevalence of HPV Transmission During Medically Assisted Procreation Procedures

Human PapillomaVirus (HPV) are ones of the main causal agents of sexually transmitted diseases. Numerous HPV genotypes such as 16, 18, 31 or 45 are considered to be at high risk of oncogenicity especially for the anal and cervical mucosa. At the present time, no recommendations exist on the risk related to HPV during Medically Assisted Procreation (MAP) procedures. The main objective of this prospective multicentric cohort study is to evaluate the prevalence of transmission of HPV via the semen during MAP program. Secondary objectives are to evaluate (1) the prevalence of HPV DNA in the sperm fractions of men enrolled in MAP, (2) the efficacy of spermatozoal pellet preparation procedures to eliminate HPV, (3) the correlation between HPV and male infertility and (4) the correlation between HPV and success rate of procreation. Results could contribute to revise guidelines of MAP procedures and HPV vaccination policy.

Endometrial Local Injury Before First IVF : Evaluation of Pregnancy Rate

In spite of all progress realized in the field of assisted reproduction the pregnancy rate by In vitro fertilization (IVF) in France, across indications, is only 23% after IVF cycle. Different causes may account for these failures and that, during all stages of pregnancy. Recent studies have investigated an essential step in fecundation : uterine receptivity. Some teams have shown that a lot of immunological factors would have very significant in this step, by them possible expression in this process. Other studies looked at genes modulation, essential to implantation, with endometrium manipulation, simple, such as endometrial biopsy (EB). The last findings published on this subject, but after 2 IVF failures, are most encouraging because the pregnancy rate for these teams after just endometrial local injury (EB after 2 IVF failures) is well above their usual pregnancy rate. Some teams have focused on immunoassay of endometrial biopsy, in order to profile uterine receptivity and suggest with results, suitable treatment for each patient (ongoing study). EB is quick, easy, make in a simple consultation and with a low cost, contrary to immunological study, which depend of ultra-specialized laboratories and therefore with an important cost.

Quality of Life in Endometriosis - a Case Control Study

Endometriosis, one of the most common diseases of women during their reproductive period., may present a chronic disabling disease with major impact on women's life. Therapeutic options are limited and recurrence of disease symptoms is frequent. The current study investigates the quality of life and several risk factors for the development of endometriosis as well as satisfaction with medical support in a minimum of 600 women with different stages of endometriosis and the same number of control women matched for age (± 3 years) and nationality. To evaluate specific features of endometriosis-associated pain a second group of 100 women with chronic abdominal/pelvic pain not related to endometriosis is investigated. Recruitment takes place in different university clinics, and districts hospitals in Switzerland, Germany. And Austria. Control women i.e. women without any evidence for endometriosis presenting for annual routine gynaecological controls are collected at the same places. A composition of different internationally validated questionnaires as well as specific questions on dealing with endometriosis is used to collect information on the quality of life and potential risk factors for endometriosis. Questions on sexuality and partnership are also distributed to women's partners. All diagnosis of endometriosis and classification of ASRM (American Society for Reproductive Medicine) disease stages are based on woman's medical charts.
