NCT ID: NCT06368232 Completed - Obesity Clinical Trials

Nutritional Status After Sleeve Gastrectomy in Morbid Obesity: 6-Month Study

Start date: February 15, 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This study aims to evaluate the nutritional status of morbidly obese patients following gastric bypass surgery. Data from 76 patients aged 19-64, who will be monitored by a dietitian for at least six months, will be analyzed. Preoperative and postoperative biochemical parameters along with anthropometric measurements will assess.

NCT ID: NCT06361498 Not yet recruiting - Gastrostomy Clinical Trials

Ultrasound for Evaluation of Percutaneous G-tube Position

Start date: April 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this clinical trial is to compare using ultrasound imaging to look at the position of the gastrostomy tube (GT) against fluoroscopic imaging in pediatric patients who had a recent GT tube replacement. The main questions it aims to answer are: - If ultrasound is just as accurate as fluoroscopy to assess the GT position. - If ultrasound takes less time than fluoroscopy to assessing the GT position. Participants will be imaging using ultrasound to assess GT positioning before their standard of care fluoroscopic imaging.

NCT ID: NCT06229197 Not yet recruiting - Surgery Clinical Trials

Billroth II With Braun Anastomosis After Radical Distal Gastrectomy for Gastric Cancer

Start date: February 1, 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The primary aim of this trial is to rigorously evaluate the comparative benefits and potential risks associated with Billroth II reconstruction with Braun anastomosis versus Billroth II reconstruction alone following distal gastrectomy with D2 lymphadenectomy in patients diagnosed with gastric cancer. This assessment focuses on delineating the therapeutic efficacy, safety profile, and overall clinical outcomes of these two surgical approaches in treating this condition.

NCT ID: NCT06129877 Enrolling by invitation - Gastrostomy Clinical Trials

CHAMP App Feeding Difficulties Repository

Start date: November 9, 2023
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

This repository will consist of home monitoring data, videos, and images of patients with feeding difficulties for asynchronous remote patient monitoring of manually entered data sent by parents to the healthcare team using the CHAMP App for children with feeding difficulties. This information will be collected under a research protocol and this repository is for future research applications.

NCT ID: NCT06027242 Recruiting - Gastric Cancer Clinical Trials

Oral Supplementation of Glutamine on Gastric Cancer Patients After Gastrectomy

Start date: February 21, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Glutamine has the potentials of immunomodulation and adjustment of protein metabolism. The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of glutamine on sarcopenia in gastric adenocarcinoma patients undergoing gastrectomy. The secondary endpoints, including the physical activity, weight loss, and nutritional profiles, will be evaluated among these patients.

NCT ID: NCT05994079 Completed - Skin Laxity Clinical Trials

Effect Of High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound On Abdominal Skin Laxity Post Sleeve Gastrectomy

Start date: June 20, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of the study is to evaluate the therapeutic effect of High intensity focused ultrasound in treatment of abdominal skin laxity post sleeve gastrectomy.

NCT ID: NCT05966311 Recruiting - Ultrasound Clinical Trials

Pediatric Percutaneous Ultrasound Gastrostomy Technique

Start date: July 7, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this research study is to test a new device called the PUMA-G Pediatric System. The research will measure if the device works well to safely aid doctors placing gastrostomy feeding tubes in children. The PUMA-G Pediatric System is an investigational device that uses ultrasound and magnets to guide insertion of a feeding tube.

NCT ID: NCT05955534 Not yet recruiting - Respiratory Failure Clinical Trials

Concomitant Bedside Percutaneous Tracheostomy and Ultrasound Gastrostomy

TPUG
Start date: May 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this research study is to assess the FDA approved technique for inserting a feeding tube (gastrostomy) along with a breathing tube (tracheostomy) for patients that cannot breathe or eat on their own in the ICU (Intensive Care Unit). All subjects in the study will receive a tracheostomy, but each patient will be randomly assigned a common method for gastrostomy placement. The placement of the tube and tracheostomy will occur as part of normal clinical practice. Researchers will compare subjects in the control group and the intervention group to evaluate the benefits of performing a tracheostomy and gastrostomy tube at the same time. Researchers will also evaluate the likelihood of the PUG procedure decreasing a patient's length of stay in the ICU.

NCT ID: NCT05723783 Completed - Sarcopenia Clinical Trials

Prognostic Value of CT-guided Sarcopenia for Surgical Outcomes in Esophagetomy and Total Gastrectomy Due to Neoplasia

Start date: January 20, 2017
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The purpose of this study is to assess the degree of sarcopenia by CT and to analyze its association with morbidity and mortality after esophagectomy and / or total gastrectomy. It is also intended to analyze the association between the degree of the CT-guided sarcopenia and the nutritional status of the patients evaluated by clinical parameters, both preoperative and postoperative. Besides that, to verify the association between the degree of sarcopenia and body fat rate.
