Filter by:The goal of this clinical trial is to compare using ultrasound imaging to look at the position of the gastrostomy tube (GT) against fluoroscopic imaging in pediatric patients who had a recent GT tube replacement. The main questions it aims to answer are: - If ultrasound is just as accurate as fluoroscopy to assess the GT position. - If ultrasound takes less time than fluoroscopy to assessing the GT position. Participants will be imaging using ultrasound to assess GT positioning before their standard of care fluoroscopic imaging.
The primary aim of this trial is to rigorously evaluate the comparative benefits and potential risks associated with Billroth II reconstruction with Braun anastomosis versus Billroth II reconstruction alone following distal gastrectomy with D2 lymphadenectomy in patients diagnosed with gastric cancer. This assessment focuses on delineating the therapeutic efficacy, safety profile, and overall clinical outcomes of these two surgical approaches in treating this condition.
The goal of this research study is to assess the FDA approved technique for inserting a feeding tube (gastrostomy) along with a breathing tube (tracheostomy) for patients that cannot breathe or eat on their own in the ICU (Intensive Care Unit). All subjects in the study will receive a tracheostomy, but each patient will be randomly assigned a common method for gastrostomy placement. The placement of the tube and tracheostomy will occur as part of normal clinical practice. Researchers will compare subjects in the control group and the intervention group to evaluate the benefits of performing a tracheostomy and gastrostomy tube at the same time. Researchers will also evaluate the likelihood of the PUG procedure decreasing a patient's length of stay in the ICU.
Study the quality of life with generic questionnaires (17-20), validated and used in other pathologies and chronic diseases of the child. This will allow reproducibility and comparisons to other populations, general or other chronic diseases (acute leukemias ...). This is to conduct a pilot study, preliminary to the construction of a larger study, longitudinal with several evaluation times.
