There are about 89 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Uruguay. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Primary objective : - To compare disease-free survival after treatment with docetaxel in combination with doxorubicin and cyclophosphamide to doxorubicin and cyclophosphamide followed by docetaxel in operable adjuvant breast cancer HER2neu negative patients with positive axillary lymph nodes. Secondary objectives : - To compare toxicity and quality of life between the 2 above-mentioned arms. - To evaluate pathologic and molecular markers for predicting efficacy.
This study is a prospective, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, multi-center trial to compare the efficacy and safety of celecoxib 400mg QD versus placebo in reducing the occurrence of new colorectal adenomas post-polypectomy at Month 13 (Year 1) and Month 37 (Year 3) of study drug administration.
This study is a test of the safety and effectiveness of two drugs, one for diabetes and one for hypertension, in keeping patients with high lab values of glucose from progressing to frank diabetes and developing cardiovascular complications. People in this study cannot have frank diabetes but are considered "borderline" based on blood tests. People in the study take none, one or both of the drugs and do not know which one(s) they are taking.
BBR 2778 is a novel aza-anthracenedione that has activity in experimental tumors and shows reduced potential for cardiotoxicity in animal models. This cytotoxic agent has structural similarities with mitoxantrone as well as general similarities with anthracyclines (such as the tricyclic central quinoid chromophore).
The primary objective of the study is to determine whether enoxaparin compared to unfractionated heparin will reduce the composite endpoint of all-cause mortality and non-fatal myocardial re-infarction within 30 days after randomization in patients with acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction who are eligible to receive fibrinolytic therapy
Many obstetrical interventions used in Latin America, as in other parts of the world, have been shown to be ineffective or harmful, while effective interventions remain underutilized. This study will develop and evaluate an intervention intended to implement two evidence-based practices among birth attendants in Latin America, the selective use of episiotomies and active management of the third stage of labor.
Primary objective: - Compare disease-free survival in women with HER2-neu-expressing node-positive or high-risk node-negative operable breast cancer treated with adjuvant doxorubicin, cyclophosphamide, and docetaxel with or without trastuzumab (Herceptin) vs trastuzumab, docetaxel, and carboplatin. Secondary objective: - Compare overall survival of patients treated with these regimens. - Compare the toxic effects (including cardiac) of these regimens in these patients. - Compare quality of life of patients treated with these regimens. - Compare pathologic and molecular markers for predicting efficacy of these regimens in these patients. - For substudy: Compare peripheral levels of shed HER2-neu extracellular domain with fluorescence in situ hybridization in predicting outcome in patients treated with these regimens.
