There are about 10560 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Taiwan. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
This study aims to examine the clinical efficacy of dancing somatosensory videogames in improving physical health, cognitive performance, happiness, laboratory biomarkers, and structural brain imaging (magnetic resonance imaging, MRI) by a randomized controlled trial design, and hopefully to expand the scope of healthy aging intervention activities with strong scientific evidence.
The combination of paclitaxel and carboplatin is the standard first-line chemotherapy for ovarian cancer as recommended by the NCCN Guidelines for Epithelial Ovarian Cancer, and is conventionally given via intravenous route every three weeks. The addition of target therapy (bevacizumab) has shown to improve progression free survival but not overall survival. Several trials have also demonstrated a clinically significant survival advantage associated with intraperitoneal chemotherapy compared to intravenous chemotherapy, and the best outcomes are consistently seen for patients who have no residual disease. This study aims to compare triweekly chemotherapy with bevacizumab versus intraperitoneal chemotherapy in patients with advanced stage ovarian cancer.
The main purpose of this study is to use 3D printing technology to make a human anatomical bronchial tree model, which is applied in medical education for medical students and students of the department of respiratory therapy. Most of the clinical teaching material is expansive and inaccessible. To promote accessibility of anatomy models and student learning effects in our school and hospital, we use the 3D printing technology to print bronchial tree model and apply it to anatomy and bronchoscopy education. The present study expects some benefits that the use of printed bronchial trees for anatomy and bronchoscopy education. For example, it can reduce the cost of anatomy instruction, let students have their own anatomical model, and make the learning no longer limited to the anatomical classroom.
Since September 1st, 2009, Taiwan has begun to pay attention to the care of patients with organ failure, dementia and the elderly, and brought eight of non-cancer terminal patients into health insurance subsidies to implement the goal of universal palliative care and local aging. Taiwan has entered the aged society since March 2018, become the heavy burden of expenditure in Taiwan because of the health care needs and costs associated with the rapid aging of the population. With advanced medical technology, when facing inevitable death situation, should not use too much medical treatment on terminally ill patients. The waste of medical resources and bring both patients and family members so much pain. In Taiwan, people have misconception about tranquil palliative care. The low rate of home palliative care for non-terminal cancer patients. The purpose of this study is investigating the eight non-cancer terminal caregivers' knowledge, attitudes and service intentions of palliative care, and getting the result by research intervention. In this study, a randomized experimental research design was applied by two-group pre-and post-test. The targets are the eight non-cancer terminal caregivers in a home care institution of a regional teaching hospital located in Yilan. Targets' ID end with odd numbers are in experimental group received shared mode intervention, and even numbers are in control group received home routine care. The experimental group was implementing measures of weekly shared mode intervention in 20 to 60 minutes for six weeks; the control group started to implement measures of home care medical instructions booklet in the third week. The content of the outcome measurement questionnaire includes: basic information of the eight non-cancer terminal caregivers, the palliative care knowledge scale, the palliative care attitude scale, and palliative care service initiation intention scale. Data were analyzed by statistical methods such as descriptive analysis, independent sample t-test, paired-samples t-test, Pearson correlation analysis and one-way ANOVA.
This study intends to investigate the improvement in patients with OSA through objective measurement, including oxygen desaturation index (ODI) and the percentage reduction in intermittent mouth puffing (IMP) before and after the intervention. The oral appliances are placed between the tongue and the soft palate to reduce the oral ventilation space. A total of 24 participants aged between 36 and 57 years were identified with ODI above 5 events/hour by measuring their blood oxygen and with an originally designed mouth puffing detector to find out those who were still mouth-puffed when their mouths were taped. A suitable appliance was chosen for the participants between the two originally designed oral appliances, tongue pressed device (TPD) and tongue elevated device (TED), and the intervention lasted for six weeks.
Vitamin D plays a pivotal but still not well understood role in the immune response to coronavirus disease (COVID-19) infection and vaccination. Many studies also showed a high negative correlation between the severity of inflammatory disease and serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D levels. Patients with acne vulgaris often had deteriorated skin condition after COVID-19 vaccination. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the relationship of COVID-19 vaccination with serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D level and severity of acne vulgaris.
The Type 1 diabetes is the autoimmunity system produces the antibody which starts to attack the B lymphocytes while the autoimmunity is also been attacked. When the autoimmunity system has been destoyed, the insulin couldn't be secreted normally. thus, the hyperglycaemia is caused. Then, the patients need to rely on the insulin injection throughout the lifetime. The main symptoms are the three mores (eat more, drink more and urinate more), weight loss, urine sugar, lethargy, ketone bodies and ect. The most serious complications of the diabetes type 1 is the Diabetic ketoacidosis, DKA. It is caused by the severe infection or poor Glycemic Control. If the DKA happened, the patients need to be rescued in the ICU. is because it sometimes endager life. The diabetes type 1 patients rely on the insulin injection throughout the lifetime and a good habbit of diet, boold sugar controlling and exercise. The DKA happens when the boold sugar is not well controlled.
The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of the 15 weeks Chan-Chuang qigong program with breathing meditation on quality of life and interoceptive awareness in patients with breast cancer during chemotherapy.
This study aims to investigate the effects of an early mobilization intervention in improving functional status, psychological distress, and quality of life in stroke patients. We hypothesize that this intervention method can significantly alleviate patient anxiety and depression, thereby promoting functional recovery and enhancing overall quality of life. Through this research, we hope to provide stroke patients with more effective exercise programs to help them regain health and well-being.
This study aims to establish the Senior Driving Simulation Training (SDST) for Subjective Cognitive Decline (SCD) and Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI), and explore the effectiveness of Senior Driving Simulation Training (SDST) on the executive function, cognitive function and EEG.
