NCT ID: NCT03991923 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Heart Transplantation

Non-ischemic Preservation of the Donor Heart in Heart Transplantation

Start date: November 25, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The study intends to compare standard ischemic cold static storage (ICSS) of retrieved hearts intended to be transplanted, to non-ischemic heart preservation (NIHP) in a randomized clinical multicentre trial. The primary hypothesis is that the non-ischemic hypothermic cardioplegic preservation (NIHP) is safe and superior to ischemic cold static storage (ICSS) of donor hearts. The study will investigate the safety and superiority of the new methodology in terms of improved immediate and prolonged organ function in adult heart transplanted patients.

NCT ID: NCT03974191 Active, not recruiting - Pain Clinical Trials

13-year Follow-up of Women With Chronic Low Back Pain in Primary Care - a Prospective Longitudinal Cohort Study

Start date: June 10, 2019
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Background: Low back pain (LBP) is among the main causes of long-term sickness absence and is associated with considerable costs for both the individual and society. LBP affects 60-80% of the population and most individuals recover, while about 10-20% develop persistent pain and disability. Women have a higher risk of developing chronic LBP (CLBP) and widespread pain. Purpose: To investigate change in body function, activity, participation and other health related factors in women with CLBP after 13 years and to identify prognostic factors for pain, activity limitation and work ability. Methods: In the present study, all women (n = 131) who were included in the cross-sectional study in 2006 and who were followed-up after 2 years are now invited to the same study-protocol 13 years after the first examination in 2006. The Swedish Ethical Review Authority approved the study. Dnr: 2019-01944, 2019-05-21.

NCT ID: NCT03959215 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Anterior Cruciate Ligament Injury

Back in the Game: a Smartphone Application to Support Athletes Returning to Sport After Serious Injury

BANG
Start date: June 5, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Returning to sport is one of the primary concerns of athletes following injury. Yet, after serious injury, up to 50% of athletes do not return to competitive sport. Psychological factors play an important role in the athlete's return to sport after anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction, and physical and psychological readiness to return to sport often do not coincide. There are currently no easily accessible programs for non-professional athletes to help address the psychological factors that impact on their return to sport after injury. The aim of this trial is to test whether a smartphone application (app) delivering cognitive-behavioural therapy to address psychological factors including fear, confidence and recovery expectations, is effective for improving the number of people who return sport following ACL reconstruction. We hypothesise that patients who use the app in addition to receiving usual rehabilitation care after ACL reconstruction will return to sport in greater numbers than patients who receive usual rehabilitation care only.
