There are about 1560 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Serbia. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
This is a 26-week study in subjects with type 2 diabetes currently sub-optimally controlled by diet and exercise or with non-thiazolidinedione antihyperglycemic monotherapy. The total duration of a subject's participation will be approximately 30 weeks, including a 2-week placebo run-in period, a 26-week double-blind treatment period, and a 2-week post-treatment follow-up period.
To assess the efficacy of FOLFOX4 in combination with cetuximab, weekly and FOLFOX4 in combination with cetuximab, biweekly.
The main objective of this study is to demonstrate the efficacy and safety of multiple-dose application of three different oral doses of CG5503 IR (tapentadol immediate release) compared to placebo in women undergoing abdominal hysterectomy.
This is a two-arm, randomized, double-blind, non-inferiority study using a flexible dosing regime to allow optimal zonisamide or carbamazepine therapy for individual subjects. Assessment of eligibility will take place at the Screening Visit. The subjects will be randomized to either the carbamazepine or zonisamide arm at the Randomization Visit (T1). T1 must occur as soon as possible (and at least within 14 days) of the Screening Visit in order to optimize subject care.
The purpose of this study will be to determine whether tapentadol (CG5503) is effective and safe in the treatment of chronic tumor related pain compared to placebo. In addition tapentadol (CG5503) will also be compared to morphine controlled release, also referred to as slow release (SR). *Tapentadol prolonged-release (PR) is the term used in the European Union and is referred to as extended release (ER) in the United States.
Picoplatin is a new type of platinum drug that has been investigated in several clinical trials, and may provide an improved safety profile over current treatment options. This study is designed to compare the efficacy and safety of picoplatin plus Best Supportive Care (BSC) with BSC alone. Best Supportive Care includes care and treatment to optimize the comfort of patients and their ability to function, as well as to minimize the side-effects of anti-cancer treatments.
Congestive Heart Failure is the result of a number of diseases affecting the heart, causing the heart's failure to properly meet the body demands for blood circulation. In spite of advances in drug therapy, it remains a significant public health problem. Pharmacologic antagonism of the beta-adrenergic receptors shifting the autonomic balance in the direction of greater vagal influence is a well-proven treatment for heart failure patients, although there are patients who cannot tolerate, or only partially benefit from such a treatment. It has been proven in the past and well established that parasympathetic nerve stimulation can slow the rate of the heart and reduce the workload of the heart. Therefore, the potential benefit of vagus nerve stimulation, hence parasympathetic activation, for treatment of heart failure is substantial. In this study, the safety and efficacy of a new vagus nerve stimulating system will be evaluated. This study will compare whether the new device improves Heart Failure parameters in Class II - III Heart Failure patients.
The purpose of this study is to explore tolerability, safety and effectiveness of flexibly dosed paliperidone extended release (ER) in participants with schizophrenia (psychiatric disorder with symptoms of emotional instability, detachment from reality, often with delusions and hallucinations, and withdrawal into the self) previously unsuccessfully treated with an oral antipsychotic medication.
Endothelin-1 is a powerful substance that may be involved in causing hemodynamic instability (problems related to unstable blood pressure) during and after open heart surgery. Tezosentan is an investigational intravenous drug that blocks the endothelin receptors. This clinical trial will assess the potential benefit of tezosentan compared with placebo in the treatment of patients undergoing open heart surgery with cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB). Treatment time is from the start of surgery up to 24 hours.
The purpose of the study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of FOLFIRI (Irinotecan, Leucovorin and 5 Fluorouracil) chemotherapy when combined with sunitinib or FOLFIRI chemotherapy without adding sunitinib as the first line treatment of patients with metastatic colorectal cancer.
