Community mental health centers (CMHCs) face significant challenges in meeting the needs of individuals with mental health issues. For example, due to high demand, there are long waiting lists and low engagement rates. Innovative interventions are urgently needed to address these challenges to improve patient engagement, coping skills, and overall health outcomes. Educational and self-management interventions have shown promise in enhancing patient activation and treatment satisfaction in other contexts. They may therefore be potential solutions to reduce the identified challenges in the mental health service. To bridge these knowledge and practice gaps, this study aims to evaluate a digital pre-therapy patient education program tailored specifically for adults with mental disorders. This intervention aims to enhance treatment satisfaction, patient activation, knowledge, patient engagement, and overall mental health outcomes.
In this feasibility trial, a digital follow-up treatment strategy with patient self-management app (Urika) and remote monitoring in specialist healthcare for patients with gout will be tested.
This clinical study, designed as a double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled trial, aims to investigate the potential of nicotinamide riboside (NR) to decelerate functional decline in the elderly frail population. In animal studies, NR, which is converted to nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD), has shown potential as a neuroprotective agent, with indications of protection against amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Alzheimer's dementia, and Parkinson's disease. Furthermore, aging is commonly associated with decreased tissue NAD levels, a phenomenon linked to premature aging and a spectrum of age-related disorders, including cardiovascular diseases and cancers. Existing preclinical and clinical research highlights the promise of NAD replenishment through enhanced DNA repair, sirtuin activity, and improved mitochondrial function. The research center has conducted two phase II clinical trials on NR for Parkinson's disease (NAD-PARK and NR-SAFE), administering up to 3000 mg of NR daily. These trials have shown promising results, indicating NR's potential as a treatment that may alter the course of the disease and possibly as neuroprotective treatment in Parkinson's disease. The NAD age trial primarily aims to determine: - The efficacy of NAD therapy in improving clinical symptoms of frailty, evaluated through standardized physical and cognitive function tests. - The safety of administering 2000 mg NR daily in an elderly frail population. The study will include 100 individuals, classified as frail based on the Fried Frailty Phenotype. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive either 2000 mg of NR daily or a placebo. Over a 52-week period, participants will undergo: - Clinical evaluations, including actigraphy and questionnaires. - Cognitive assessments. - Bio sampling. - Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). - Positron emission tomography (FDG-PET) scanning. The outcomes of this study could potentially demonstrate that NR effectively reduces signs of frailty, offering considerable advantages to the individuals affected, their families, and society as a whole.
To provide detailed information on long-term outcomes in relation to potential neuroprotection and improvements in recovery for different targets of sedation, temperature, and pressure management in post out of hospital cardiac arrest survivors at 6 and 12 months. In addition, the impact of caring for a post OHCA survivor will be explored.
The study purpose is to measure REE by indirect calorimetry and to determine limits of agreement with confidence intervals between measured REE and predictive equations for determination of energy requirements in patients with incurable cancer. Clinical factors associated with hyper- and hypometabolism will be elucidated. Data will be obtained from patient journals in combination with measurements of REE and registration of survival. Data will be collected at one timepoint and survival will be monitored prospectively.
The purpose of this study is to compare the efficacy and safety of liso-cel vs Investigator's Choice options (idelalisib + rituximab or bendamustine + rituximab) in adult participants with R/R CLL or SLL, whose disease has failed treatment with both BTKi and BCL2i targeted therapies.
The SYLMET Trial is a randomized trial to compare simultaneous and two-staged resection of primary colorectal and synchronous liver metastases. This is an investigator-initiated, multicentre, randomized controlled trial to assess complications (primary endpoint), survival, cost-effectiveness, and quality of life (secondary endpoints).This trial will include patients with resectable primary tumour in the colon or upper rectum with less than five liver metastases that is possible to treat with surgical resection and/or ablation (RFA/MWA) at time of evaluation.
Primary outcome 1. to identify biological changes in nulliparous women at high risk for preeclampsia defined by combined screening by Fetal Medicine Foundation (FMF) 2. to identify biological effects of aspirin in nulliparous women with high risk for preeclampsia Secondary outcomes include findings of longitudinal development and predictive potential of biological markers associated with high-risk for preeclampsia and aspirin treatment. The main questions it aims to answer are: - Is high risk for preeclampsia associated with biological changes during pregnancy? - How does aspirin modulate the biological changes associated with high risk for preeclampsia? Nulliparous women will undergo routine clinical care at two regional hospitals with different treatment strategies, and selected to the study in three groups: low risk of preeclampsia, high risk of preeclampsia without aspirin, and high-risk of preeclampsia with aspirin treatment.
This randomized open-label prospective study focus on headache patients initiating preventive treatment, where the treating physician identifies a need for follow-up visits in specialized healthcare. The study will clarify whether the implementation (compliance) and overall satisfaction of the patient are better with follow-up by a headache nurse compared to standard follow-up. Patients with signed written consent will be randomised to either group a: Telephone calls from nurse after two and 6 week or B. Patient-initiated follow-up by their general practitioner.
