There are about 13332 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Netherlands. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Objective of the present study is to compare endovascular repair versus surveillance and, eventually delay treatment in patients with small abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA), with respect to patient survival, AAA rupture and AAA related death risks.
The purpose of the study is to evaluate the safety & efficacy of Epratuzumab with standard treatments for patients with SLE.
The purpose of this study is to determine whether, in children with cancer presenting with fever in severe chemotherapy-induced neutropenia at low risk for medical complications, oral antibiotics in an outpatient setting after an initial phase of intravenous antibiotics and in-hospital observation for 8 to 22 hours, is not inferior as to safety and efficacy compared to continued intravenous antibiotics given in-hospital.
RATIONALE: Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to kill tumor cells. Radiosurgery may be able to send x-rays directly to the tumor and cause less damage to normal tissue. Giving radiation therapy or radiosurgery after surgery may kill any remaining tumor cells. It is not yet known whether radiation therapy or radiosurgery is more effective than observation alone in treating benign meningioma. PURPOSE: This randomized phase III trial is studying radiation therapy or radiosurgery to see how well they work compared to observation alone in treating patients with newly diagnosed, benign meningioma that has been partially removed by surgery.
This study is a 96-week study designed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of GW873140 in combination with Kaletra in HIV infected, untreated subjects.
The purpose of this clinical research study is to learn if BMS-275183 can shrink or slow the growth of the cancer in subjects with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The safety of this treatment will also be studied.
Lumbar spinal fusion is commonly performed as a "last resort" in patients with chronic low back pain caused by degenerative changes and instability of the spine. The aim of this study is to compare two fusion devices, which are used in spinal surgery in order to promote the fusion of two lumbar vertebrae.
RATIONALE: Gefitinib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking the enzymes necessary for their growth. It is not yet known whether giving gefitinib after initial chemotherapy is effective in delaying the recurrence of non-small cell lung cancer. PURPOSE: This randomized phase III trial is studying gefitinib to see how well it works compared to placebo in delaying tumor recurrence in patients who have undergone initial chemotherapy for stage IIIB or stage IV non-small cell lung cancer.
AG-013,958 is being studied to treat patients with Age-Related Macular Degeneration. A total of 144 subjects may be enrolled in the trial. Subjects will be male or female at least 55 years of age with "wet" age-related macular degeneration.
The purpose of this study is to compare the duration of survival between GVAX® immunotherapy for prostate cancer and chemotherapy treatment in patients with prostate cancer who no longer respond to hormone therapy, who have documented metastases, and who have not been treated with chemotherapy in the past.
