There are about 256 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Iraq. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Background: Anosmia is a debilitating common symptom of COVID-19. The therapeutic effect of systemic steroid for the treatment of anosmia has been studied with various findings of its efficacy. However, the effect of local steroid was not assessed before. Objective: To estimate the efficacy of local steroid in the treatment of anosmia in COVID-19 patients.
The purpose of this study is to explain the provision of palliative care at the end of life by the implementation of the ELNEC course, as WBT Program using the Normalization Process Theory, that focus attention on how complex interventions become routinely embedded in practice. In addition to, identify the changes implemented by the participant nurses (intervention group) in their clinical practice, after participating in WBT Program to provide Palliative Care alongside with usual care versus usual care only (control group) for children with life-limiting conditions or in the case of accidents/sudden death, at the end of life. And finally, provide findings that will assist in the interpretation of the trial results.
application of 1% curcumin gel in clinical study design will be used . The study will be conducted in Al-Najaf specialised dentistry center. The group of patients will be consist of 25 patients, belonging to both sex, age between 30-45 years. All patients will be diagnosed as chronic periodontitis with periodontal pockets of depth 5-7mm bilaterally to be randomly selected.
Forty-five adult male patients with generalized gingivitis participated in the double blinded randomized controlled parallel study divided into three groups, two mouth rinses and distilled water( negative control) used during seven days periods as adjunctive to regular mechanical oral hygiene, one group received super oxidized water mouth rinses(microsafe®) three times daily and the second group received Alcohol-free chlorhexidine 0.12% solution(kin gingival®) twice dialy and the third group received distilled water (negative control). The first visit included PLI measurement after that we removed the supra gingival plaque by cotton roll to avoid contamination with the periopaper strip during GCF collection, then GCF collected from targeted sites(upper incisors, labial side) after that the other clinical periodontal parameters ( GI and BOP) were measured and then scaling was done after sample collection because of gingival bleeding which occur during scaling then inform the patient to use the coded bottle which gave to the participant by the assistant not involve in the study so the researcher did not know the type of mouthwash that was given to the participant( CHX twice daily while SOW three times daily) .The mouthwashes was given for one week with routine mechanical dental home care(brushing and flossing). The codded bottle was gave randomly by a decision on that day for example on Sunday we gave all the participants code 1 and on other days we gave to other participants code 2 or code 3. In the second visit the PLI was measured first , then the sample was collected from the same teeth after that the other periodontal parameters were collected again ( GI and BOP).
Background: Melatonin (N-acetyl-5-methoxy-tryptamine) is an indoleamine synthesized and secreted by the pineal gland and other organs, such as the retina, bone marrow, and intestines in a circadian pattern. Some authors claimed that Melatonin induces bone formation, increase bone density, and bone implant contact. According to animal and human studies the melatonin can be used topically during implant placement to increase bone implant contact and reduce marginal bone loss. Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of the topical administration of melatonin on osseointegration of dental implants and in minimize marginal bone loss. Materials and Methods: Twenty single-piece endosseous implants (Dentium Co, Korea) will use to restore missing lower teeth from canine to first molar area. The study will be split-mouth technique, each patient serve as his own control (served into 2 groups), the study side (topical application of melatonin in the implant side), and the control side (no melatonin in the other implant side of the same patients). The primary and secondary stability of dental implant will be evaluated by periotest M device and measure bone level as baseline immediately after implant placement and after 6 months follow up by CBCT.
The aims of this study are to determine the prevalence of diabetic peripheral neuropathy among the diabetic patients, to determine the association between the clinical profiles of the diabetic patients (diabetes type, diabetes duration, HbA1c, body mass index, hypertension, total cholesterol) and the diabetic peripheral neuropathy DPN and the rational poly pharmacy used to control pain.
