NCT ID: NCT04611243 Recruiting - Covid19 Clinical Trials

Lung Function, Exercise Capacity, and Serology Responses in Patients With COVID-19

Start date: May 22, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

(a) Objectives 1. To assess the full lung function, exercise capacity, quality of life in patients with COVID-19 over 2 years. 2. To assess the longevity of the serology response to SARS-CoV2. 3. To investigate the association of the neutralization titer in plasma from different vaccinated cohorts to its protection of infection using in vivo model 4. To investigate the SARS-CoV-2 specific cellular and humoral immunities as well as their determinant factors from community subjects who have received different types of COVID-19 vaccines. 5. To assess the third booster dose for subjects who have poor antibody response despite having received two doses of CoronaVac (Sinovac)

NCT ID: NCT04607070 Recruiting - Atherosclerosis Clinical Trials

Ischemic Strokes While on NOAC - How Compliance Matters

Start date: October 1, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This study is aimed to depict the epidemiological trend, aetiologies, clinical characteristics, treatment options of IS-NOAC in face of the rapidly increasing NOAC usage. Knowledge on this ischaemic stroke entity will define clinical characteristics, identify preventable causes and inform resource allocation on the evaluation modalities, reperfusion strategies and forecast future burden of IS-NOAC.

NCT ID: NCT04598438 Recruiting - Healthy Clinical Trials

Music to Enhance Auditory Encoding in Young Children

Start date: June 4, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The current pilot randomized control trial (RCT) examines whether active music participation enhances the encoding of speech in the neural auditory system which in turn leads to better language development in infants and toddlers. Healthy children will be randomized into either the music intervention treatment group or the arts and crafts active control group. Before and after treatment period, neural speech encoding and language and communication skills will be assessed. It is hypothesized that music intervention leads to enhanced neural speech encoding and language development compared to arts and crafts active control.

NCT ID: NCT04593186 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma

Magnifying NBI for Occult NPC

Start date: April 15, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Diagnosis of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is currently made by trans-nasal endoscopy and biopsy. The small caliber endoscope provides only a limited view of the nasopharynx and may not be able to provide a thorough assessment of the nasopharynx. The investigators have developed a novel endoscopic approach to access the nasopharynx by using a trans-oral high definition endoscope with magnification and image enhancement function. In this cohort study, we aim to investigate the efficacy of diagnosing NPC by applying the novel technique in a high risk patient group with elevated plasma EBV DNA but with negative screening with conventional trans-nasal endoscopy.

NCT ID: NCT04591223 Recruiting - Suicidal Ideation Clinical Trials

Testing the Competency-based Theory of Change for Suicide Risk Among Young Male Internet Users With Societal Masculinity

Start date: September 1, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

To propose a competency-based theory of change for reducing suicide risks among male Internet users with salient traits of societal masculinity; To test whether the theory of change using the competency-based model has additional effects on reducing self-harm and/or suicidal ideation in addition to the online social work treatment-as-usual model; To provide online social work service providers with evidence-based measures for reducing the risks of self-harm and/or suicide among young male Internet users.

NCT ID: NCT04589845 Recruiting - Solid Tumors Clinical Trials

Tumor-Agnostic Precision Immuno-Oncology and Somatic Targeting Rational for You (TAPISTRY) Platform Study

Start date: January 18, 2021
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

TAPISTRY is a Phase II, global, multicenter, open-label, multi-cohort study designed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of targeted therapies or immunotherapy as single agents or in rational, specified combinations in participants with unresectable, locally advanced or metastatic solid tumors determined to harbor specific oncogenic genomic alterations or who are tumor mutational burden (TMB)-high as identified by a validated next-generation sequencing (NGS) assay. Participants with solid tumors will be treated with a drug or drug regimen tailored to their NGS assay results at screening. Participants will be assigned to the appropriate cohort based on their genetic alteration(s). Treatment will be assigned on the basis of relevant oncogenotype, will have cohort-specific inclusion/exclusion criteria, and, unless otherwise specified, will continue until disease progression, loss of clinical benefit, unacceptable toxicity, participant or physician decision to discontinue, or death, whichever occurs first.

NCT ID: NCT04589650 Recruiting - Clinical trials for PIK3CA-related Overgrowth Spectrum (PROS)

Study Assessing the Efficacy, Safety and PK of Alpelisib (BYL719) in Pediatric and Adult Patients With PIK3CA-related Overgrowth Spectrum

EPIK-P2
Start date: April 19, 2021
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This is a prospective Phase II multi-center study with an upfront 16-week, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled period, and extension periods, to assess the efficacy, safety and pharmacokinetics of alpelisib in pediatric and adult participants with PIK3CA-related overgrowth spectrum (PROS).

NCT ID: NCT04588896 Recruiting - PreDiabetes Clinical Trials

Continuous Glucose Monitoring as Adjunct to Lifestyle Modification in Prediabetes

FlashLMP
Start date: December 1, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This is a 12-month prospective, open-label, non-masked, two arm randomized controlled trial comparing intermittently-viewed continuous glucose monitoring (iCGM) in addition to lifestyle modification programme (LMP) as compared with a LMP alone in individulas with impaired glucose tolerance (IGT). Following informed consent, participants will undergo screening where a fasting glucose, 75g OGTT, HbA1c, fasting lipid profile along with comprehensive medical and drug history to confirm eligibility. At week 0, participants will be randomised to CGM plus LMP versus LMP alone. Both groups will receive individualized structured LMP programme delivered by a dietitian and a fitness instructor. Outcomes will be evaluated by laboratory tests, physical measurement, physical activity and dietary compliance and questionnaires at Month 0, 4, 8, 12.

NCT ID: NCT04572360 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19)

Cardiorespiratory Exercise & Chinese Medicine for Rehabilitation of Discharged Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) Patients

Covid19Reh
Start date: October 1, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Rehabilitation interventions can help to address the consequences of COVID-19, which include medical, physical, cognitive, and psychological related problems. The specific aims of this project are to investigate the effects of a 12-week exercise program on pulmonary fibrosis in recovering COVID-19 patients. A further aim will be to examine how Chinese herbal medicines, gut microbiome, and metabolites regulate immune function and possibly autoimmune deficiency in the rehabilitation process.
