There are about 4372 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Greece. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Addition of fentanyl or remifentanil to the propofol produced sedation for scheduled ERCP will decrease the propofol requirements for predetermined sedation levels (as shown by Bispectral Index Monitor (BIS) monitor), will be associated with faster recovery monitored by Ramsay's and Observer's Assessment of Alertness/Sedation (OAAS) scores and BIS, less postoperative pain (assessed by Visual Analogue Scale=VAS) and less early cognitive impairment after sedation (as assessed by the MiniMental test).
This is a Phase 3, randomized, open-label, multicenter study comparing two treatment regimens for subjects with multiple myeloma who have received all available approved treatment options and may therefore be considered candidates for palliative care.
This study is designed to confirm if 8mg of fesoterodine is more effective in reducing overactive bladder symptoms than 4mg of fesoterodine. In addition the study is designed to assess if the higher dose reduces the overall effect of overactive bladder on the subject's daily life more than the lower dose. The study also assesses the side effects and safety of the two doses.
The primary objective of the study is to evaluate the effect of 48 hours of intravenous (IV) omecamtiv mecarbil compared with placebo on dyspnea in subjects with left ventricular systolic dysfunction hospitalized for acute heart failure. This is a multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study with 3 dose cohorts enrolled sequentially in order of ascending dose strength of omecamtiv mecarbil. In each cohort, subjects are randomized 1:1 to omecamtiv mecarbil or placebo.
The primary objective of this study was to assess the maintenance of efficacy of LY2216684 compared with placebo as adjunctive therapy to selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) as measured by the time-to-symptom reemergence among participants with major depressive disorder (MDD) who met randomization criteria with adjunctive LY2216684 during the stabilization period. This trial consists of two distinct periods: an open-label treatment period, which consists of two parts, 8 weeks acute open-label with movement to 12 weeks open-label stabilization if participants are in remission at end of 8 weeks (open-label for 20 weeks total) followed by a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled period for 24 weeks.
The purpose of this study is to identify the combined impact on bone loss as well as the incidence of bone fractures in women with ER-positive, early breast cancer treated with an AI either as first line therapy or as maintenance therapy after initial treatment with chemotherapy, in real life clinical settings in Greece.
A study of flap thickness predictability in patients submitted to Laser in Situ Keratomileusis (LASIK) with the Carriazo-Pendular microkeratome (130 micrometers head size).
This is a multicenter, multi-national, randomized, open-label comparative trial. After screening, the subjects will start down-regulation treatment on Day 21-22 of the cycle. Down-regulation treatment will start within 2 months following the screening visit. The routine long luteal phase protocol for gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) agonist treatment will be followed. Once down-regulation has been confirmed, a pregnancy test will be performed just before randomization and start of recombinant human follicle-stimulating hormone (r-hFSH) treatment to rule out any pre-existing pregnancy. If the result is negative, the subject will be randomly assigned to one of the two treatment arms of the trial: - GONAL-f®: (Liquid Pen; 300 international unit [IU] of per day) stimulation Day 1-5 followed by Pergoveris® (vial/powder, 300 IU per day) from stimulation Day 6 and until required recombinant human chorionic hormone (r-hCG) criterion is met. The dose can be adjusted from stimulation Day 6 (increased or decreased) based upon the subject's ovarian response and according to the center's standard practice. - Pergoveris®: (vial/powder, 300 IU per day) from stimulation Day 1 and until required r-hCG criterion is met. The dose can be adjusted from stimulation Day 6 (increased or decreased) based upon the subject's ovarian response and according to the center's standard practice. Randomization across the two treatment arms will be kept balanced in a 1:1 ratio. Follicular development will be monitored according to the center's standard practice by ultrasound (US) and/or estradiol (E2) levels, until the protocol r-hCG requirement is met (i.e., at least one follicle greater than or equal to [>=] 18 millimeter [mm] and two follicles >=16 mm). After this, a single injection of r-hCG will be administered in order to induce final oocyte maturation. At a time of 34-38 hours after r-hCG administration, oocytes will be recovered vaginally under US monitoring. Oocytes will then be fertilized in vitro and embryos replaced 2-5 days after oocyte recovery. Ovum pick up (OPU), in vitro fertilization (IVF), embryo transfer (ET) and luteal support will be performed as per center's standard practice. A post-treatment safety visit will be performed for all subjects who received r-hCG (pregnant and non- pregnant) on Day 15-20 post-hCG. For subjects who have withdrawn from treatment (i.e. after starting Pergoveris® or Gonal-f® but before hCG is given) this visit will take place 20-30 days after their first Pergoveris® or Gonal-f® treatment injection (excluding pregnancy testing).
This study will assess the safety and efficacy of KRP203 in clinically active subacute cutaneous lupus erythematosus patients, who have demonstrated inadequate response to standard treatment, such as antimalarials.
Study FDC114615 is a two year, multi-centre, randomised, open-label trial to assess the efficacy of Dutasteride plus tamsulosin when compared to the standard practice of watchful waiting, with a defined escalation to tamsulosin in treatment naive men with symptomatic benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH). Once consented, each subject will undergo screening procedures to ensure the prostate volume and post void residual are within eligible range. If all entry criteria are met, subjects will be randomised (1:1) to receive Dutasteride plus tamsulosin with lifestyle advice or watchful waiting, with lifestyle advice, with a defined escalation to tamsulosin. Escalation will be initiated when no improvement from baseline is scored using the International Prostate Symptom Score (version 2) (IPSS) questionnaire. After randomisation, the subjects return to site at one month, then every 13 weeks until two years of treatment is complete or they are withdrawn. Key assessments, such as Adverse Events (AE's) and concomitant medication monitoring and completion of the quality of life questionnaires are performed at each visit and the data recorded.
