Stem Cell Translpantation in Multiple Myeloma

Start date: September 2001
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to determine whether autologous transplantation (using the patient's own stem cells from the blood), followed by non-myeloablative (i.e. less intense) allogeneic transplantation (where the blood stem cells from a sibling donor are used for the transplantation) improves the outcome in patients with newly diagnosed multiple myeloma.

Start date: May 30, 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The aim of this study is to describe and evaluate clinical outcomes, treatment lines, and to identify the key characteristics of the patients treated with tofacitinib.

NCT ID: NCT05082285 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Infections, Meningococcal

A Study on the Safety, Tolerability and Immune Response of Meningococcal Combined ABCWY Vaccine in Healthy Infants

Start date: November 29, 2021
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to assess the safety, tolerability and immunogenicity of the combined meningococcal groups A, B, C, W and Y (MenABCWY-2Gen) vaccine intended to protect against invasive meningococcal disease (IMD) caused by all 5 meningococcal serogroups, in healthy infants 2 months of age (MoA) at enrolment.

NCT ID: NCT05080205 Active, not recruiting - Insulin Resistance Clinical Trials

Effects of Morbid Obesity and Bariatric Surgery on Brain Inflammation, Insulin Resistance and Central Reward System

BariBrainPET
Start date: February 11, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Background: Morbid obesity is associated with decreased brain µ-opioid receptor availability, possibly resulting in higher food intake needed to gain pleasure from eating. This decrease seems to normalize already 6 months after bariatric surgery, but the longer-term effects have not been studied. Obesity and insulin resistance result in significantly increased brain insulin-stimulated glucose uptake, whereas in every other tissue glucose uptake is lower. One possible explanation to this could be central inflammation and activation of brain glial cells, which has been shown to occur in animal models of obesity. Obesity has also been shown to associate with increased risk of Alzheimer's disease and cognitive decline in several studies. Aims: The first objective of this study is to both study the effects of bariatric surgery as well as compare the effects of gastric bypass and sleeve gastrectomy on food-associated pleasure, extending the follow-up period to 2 years postoperatively. The second aim is to investigate the effect of morbid obesity and weight loss on brain inflammation and gliosis and its association with increased brain insulin-stimulated glucose uptake. Furthermore, association of obesity, insulin resistance, central inflammation and neurocognitive dysfunction are evaluated.

NCT ID: NCT05079919 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Severe Hypertriglyceridemia

A Study of Olezarsen (ISIS 678354) Administered to Participants With Severe Hypertriglyceridemia

Start date: October 25, 2021
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of the study is to evaluate the efficacy of olezarsen as compared to placebo on the percent change in fasting triglycerides (TG) from baseline.

NCT ID: NCT05078060 Completed - Clinical trials for Influenza (Healthy Volunteers)

Safety Surveillance of VaxigripTetra® and Efluelda® Influenza Vaccines in Europe During the Influenza Season 2021/22

Start date: October 12, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The primary objective of the study is to estimate the reporting rate of suspected Adverse Drug Reactions (ADRs) occurring within 7 days following routine vaccination with VaxigripTetra® and Efluelda®, respectively, during the Northern Hemisphere (NH) influenza season 2021/22. The secondary objectives of the study are: - To estimate the reporting rates of suspected ADRs occurring within 7 days following routine vaccination with VaxigripTetra® according to the pre-defined age groups. - To estimate the reporting rates of serious suspected ADRs after vaccination with VaxigripTetra®, and Efluelda®, respectively, at any time following vaccination, within the Enhanced Passive Safety Surveillance (EPSS) period. - To compare vaccinees' reporting rates of suspected ADRs observed during the NH influenza season 2021/22.

NCT ID: NCT05069558 Recruiting - Stroke Clinical Trials

Comparing PFO Outcomes of the Occlutech Flex II PFO Occluder to Standard of Care PFO Occlusion

OCCLUFLEX
Start date: April 30, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The objective of this study is to investigate whether percutaneous PFO closure with the Occlutech Flex II PFO Occluder is non-inferior to the AMPLATZERâ„¢ PFO Occluder and Gore® Cardioform Septal Occluder in closure of the PFO, prevention of recurrent embolic stroke, and device/procedure related Serious Adverse Events (SAE).

NCT ID: NCT05067660 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Prostate Cancer Recurrence After Radical Prostatectomy

Targeted Radiotherapy for Recurrent Prostate Cancer

TASTEPRO
Start date: January 1, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The TASTEPRO pilot trial evaluates the feasibility of PSMA PET-CT (Computer tomography) targeted stereotactic radiation therapy (SABR) in management of lymph node positive prostate cancer recurrence after radical prostatectomy. Targeted SABR is compared to current standard; template-based salvage radiation therapy. The investigators expect SABR to be of equal or better oncological outcome compared to the standard therapy with less radiation-induced side-effects. Results of the pilot trial will be used when designing larger trials on oncological efficacy and safety of PSMA PET-CT targeted SABR.

NCT ID: NCT05065996 Recruiting - Aortic Rupture Clinical Trials

Prediction of Aortic Dilatation and Rupture

DilAo
Start date: January 1, 2017
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

Aortic aneurysm is a very common incidental finding in the diagnostic imaging of the chest. It is especially common in middle aged men (up to 40 %). It is called as a silent killer, since it can lead to aortic dissection and rupture without pre-existing symptoms. Mortality of rupture can be up to 50 %. This is why it causes extensive human uncertainty and fear. Currently, there are no methods to identify the high risk patients. That leads to a practice where all patients are followed with repeated aortic imaging using expensive methods such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computed tomography. There is data, that modern 4D flow MRI parameters well describe the intra-aortic flow conditions. This prospective clinical trial explore the value of 4D flow MRI parameters in the prediction of aortic dilatation and rupture. The trial consists of three subtrials in whitch the 4D flow MRI parameters are tested in clinical practice.
