NCT ID: NCT05825768 Recruiting - Breast Cancer Clinical Trials

Preoperative Magnetic Resonance Imaging to Obtain Adequate Resection Margins in Breast Conserving Surgery, (PRIMAR) Trial

PRIMAR
Start date: February 1, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this randomised study is to investigate if a supplementary preoperative breast Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) improves the assessment of breast cancer and can help surgical planning such that sufficient resection margins can be obtained during breast conserving surgery. The main questions are: 1. Is preoperative breast MRI in addition to the currently used standard imaging methods ultrasound and mammography more accurate to detect Ductal Carcinoma in Situ and the invasive breast tumor compared to standard methods only? 2. Does preoperative breast MRI reduce the number of involved histological margins after breast conserving surgery in the MRI-group versus the control group?

NCT ID: NCT05822583 Recruiting - COVID-19 Clinical Trials

Strategies and Treatments for Respiratory Infections &Amp; Viral Emergencies (STRIVE): Immune Modulation Strategy Trial

Start date: July 6, 2023
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

COVID-19 can trigger a dysregulated immune response, and previous studies have shown that immune modulation can improve outcomes in hospitalized patients. This trial is designed to determine whether intensification of immune modulation early in the course of the disease (while patients are on low flow oxygen) with abatacept (active arm) combined with standard of care (SOC) improves recovery as compared with placebo + SOC (placebo arm). For both groups, intensification of immunomodulation will be provided as part of SOC in case of signs of disease progression (patient requires high flow nasal oxygen (HFNO) or more support) and/or if the patient has rapidly increasing oxygen requirement.

NCT ID: NCT05820230 Recruiting - Depression Clinical Trials

Changes in the Blood-brain Barrier During Maintenance ECT in Formerly Depressed Patients

The aim of the study is to examine the effect of electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) on the blood-brain barrier (BBB) in patients who had suffered from depression. We will study the BBB with dynamic contrast enhanced (DCE) MRI before and after treatment with a single ECT in patients currently undergoing ECT. The study is an observational (naturalistic) longitudinal study.

NCT ID: NCT05819398 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Hidradenitis Suppurativa

Lunsayil 1: A Study to Test Whether Spesolimab Helps People With a Skin Disease Called Hidradenitis Suppurativa

Start date: April 10, 2023
Phase: Phase 2/Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This study is open to adults with moderate to severe hidradenitis suppurativa (HS). The purpose of this study is to find out whether a medicine called spesolimab helps people with HS. People who have previously taken specific medicines such as immunosuppressive biologics other than Tumor necrosis factor (TNF) inhibitors cannot take part. This study has 2 parts. In Part 1, participants are divided into 4 groups of almost equal size. 3 groups get different doses of spesolimab, 1 group gets placebo. All participants get injections into a vein or under the skin. Placebo injections look like spesolimab injections, but do not contain any medicine. Every participant has an equal chance of being in each group. In the beginning, participants get the study medicine every week and later every 2 weeks. After 4 months, participants in the placebo group switch to spesolimab treatment. In Part 2, participants are divided into 2 groups. One group gets a suitable dose of spesolimab that was found in Part 1 of the study. The other group gets placebo. After 4 months, participants in the placebo group switch to spesolimab treatment. Participants join only one of the two parts. They are in the study for about 1 year. During this time, they visit the study site in the beginning every week and later every 2 weeks. Some of the visits can be done at the participant's home instead of the study site. The doctors regularly check participants' HS symptoms. The results are compared between the groups to see whether spesolimab works. The doctors also regularly check participants' general health and take note of any unwanted effects.

NCT ID: NCT05819229 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Urinary Tract Infections in Children

Oral Antibiotics Alone in Children Aged 4 Weeks to 2 Months With a Urinary Tract Infection

Start date: February 27, 2023
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The goal of this prospective study is to investigate whether oral antibiotic therapy alone is feasible and safe in clinically stable children aged 4 weeks to 2 months without any past high-risk medical history with a suspected or confirmed urinary tract infection.

NCT ID: NCT05818319 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Cystic Fibrosis (CF)

Cystic Fibrosis in the Kidney: Monitoring the Effectiveness of Elexacaftor/Tezacaftor/Ivacaftor in Urine After a Short Pause of Therapy

Start date: June 1, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

In cystic fibrosis (CF) renal base excretion is impaired, due to mutations in the Cystic Fibrosis Transmembrane Regulator (CFTR) gene, since CFTR function is crucial in regulation of the kidney's HCO3- excretion. The investigators suggest that challenged urine HCO3- excretion is a biomarker of CFTR function, which can be used to evaluate the extent of CFTR dysfunction and the possible correcting effects of CFTR modulating therapy. This study aims to evaluate changes in challenged urine HCO3- excretion in CF patients, who are currently in treatment with the triple CFTR modulator combination therapy, Elexacaftor/tezacaftor/ivacaftor (ETI), before, during, and after a short treatment pause.

NCT ID: NCT05817058 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Acute Myeloid Leukemia

First-in-Human Dose Escalation Study of AFM28 in Patients With Relapsed/Refractory Acute Myeloid Leukemia

Start date: March 21, 2023
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

This study is a First In Human, phase 1, open-label, non-randomized, multi-center, multiple ascending dose escalation study evaluating AFM28 as a monotherapy in subjects with Relapsed/Refractory CD123-positive Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). AFM28 is a tetravalent monoclonal antibody targeting the interleukin-3 receptor subunit alpha (IL3RA, CD123) and the low affinity immunoglobulin gamma Fc region receptor III-A (FCGR3A, CD16A). It is developed as an antineoplastic agent for hematologic malignancies known to express CD123. The primary pharmacological Mode of Action of AFM28 is induction of cell death of CD123-expressing cells by stimulating Antibody-Dependent Cell-mediated Cytotoxicity mediated by CD16A-expressing immune cells, primarily Natural Killer cells. The aim of the dose escalation is to determine the Maximum Tolerated Dose (MTD) and/or establish one or more Recommended Phase 2 Doses, based on safety, preliminary anti-leukemic activity and Pharmacokinetics / Pharmacodynamics data.
