NCT ID: NCT00275379 Withdrawn - Clinical trials for Cystitis, Interstitial

Study Evaluating Orally Administered ERB-041 in Subjects With Active Interstitial Cystitis

Start date: August 2006
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This is a multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel-design, exploratory study of orally administered ERB-041 in subjects with active IC. The primary objectives of this study will be to investigate ERB-041's activity on levels of urinary APF, explore the gene expression response in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC), and to evaluate the safety of ERB-041 in women with active IC.

NCT ID: NCT00273624 Withdrawn - Clinical trials for Therapy-resistant Depression

Olanzapine Augmentation Therapy in Treatment-resistant Depression: a Double-blind Placebo-controlled Trial

Start date: June 2005
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

60 patients with major depression will be treated with 10 mg Olanzapine or Placebo for 2 weeks. In case of response (reduction of depressive symptoms)the study will be continued for further 60 days.

NCT ID: NCT00259571 Withdrawn - Ulcerative Colitis Clinical Trials

Retarded Phosphatidylcholine Versus Mesalazin in Remission of Ulcerative Colitis.

Start date: n/a
Phase: Phase 2/Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to evaluate if retarded phosphatidylcholine is as effective as mesalazin in preventing an acute episode in ulcerative colitis. The hypothesis is, that ulcerative colitis is cuased by a defect in the barrier function of the colonic mucus. The background of the study is the finding that the phosphatidylcholine content of the colonic mucus is reduced in patients with ulcerative colitis, in both healthy and inflamed parts of the colon.

NCT ID: NCT00227292 Withdrawn - Depression Clinical Trials

Cipralex in Treatment of Depressive Symptoms and Chronic Back Pain

Start date: November 2007
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

Chronic low back pain (CLBP) is one of the most frequent forms of chronic pain and can result in significant functional impairment. This is often associated with major depression too. Previous research reported significant beneficial effects of antidepressant medication in alleviating depression and pain intensity. The aim of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of Escitalopram, a new kind of Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor (SSRI) in patients with CLBP in a prospective, randomized and double-blind clinical trial. The main hypothesis is: -in comparison to placebo, subjects with CLBP and Cipralex report a significant reduction in depressive symptoms (>= 50% of HAMD questionnaire) after 4 weeks of treatment.

NCT ID: NCT00222183 Withdrawn - Clinical trials for Lupus Erythematosus, Cutaneous

Cutaneous Lupus Erythematosus and Elidel

Start date: June 2003
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This trial evaluates the therapeutic effect of Elidel (pimecrolimus) in comparison to the corresponding vehicle in patients with chronic discoid lupus erythematosus (dLE) or subacute cutaneous lupus erythematosus (scLE).

NCT ID: NCT00180232 Withdrawn - Osteoporosis Clinical Trials

An Open Clinical Trial to Assess the Influence of Newly Prescribed Aminobiphosphonates on Arterial Stiffness

Start date: April 2006
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

The study tries to reveal if aminobisphosphonates influence aside the bone density also the vascular status in the typical elderly patient population

NCT ID: NCT00180219 Withdrawn - Clinical trials for Pregnancy Trimester, Second

Clinical Trial to Assess the Influence of Gestational Stage and Maternal Age on Arterial Stiffness of the Mother

Start date: January 2006
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Observational

This is a single-centre, open, parallel-group study with three age groups; no study medication or intervention will be provided. This is a longitudinal follow-up of physiological parameters.

NCT ID: NCT00176371 Withdrawn - Overweight Clinical Trials

Improvement of Physical Activity and Correction of Body Mass Index in School Children

Start date: July 2005
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

There is an increasing incidence of overweight children in Germany, due to a lack of physical activity. The aim of this study is to improve physical fitness and activity in school children. Two classes in different schools are provided with additional sport lessons over a period of one year.

NCT ID: NCT00168051 Withdrawn - Hemophilia A Clinical Trials

Study Comparing Blood Levels of ReFacto and Advante in Hemophilia A

Start date: April 2005
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of the study is to compare the pharmacokinetic parameters of ReFacto and Advate, using the chromogenetic substrate assay to measure plasma Factor VIII activity in plasma.

NCT ID: NCT00152633 Withdrawn - Hypertension Clinical Trials

Effect of Losartan on Retinal Endothelial Function in Patients With Essential Hypertension

Start date: September 2005
Phase: Phase 2/Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

Essential hypertension is commonly associated with impaired endothelial function. The retinal vasculature is morphologically and functionally related to the cerebral vessels because of the common origin from the internal carotid artery. A recent study in hypertensive patients demonstrated that endothelial function of the retinal vasculature is impaired in hypertensive patients and that it can be restored by treatment with an AT1-receptor antagonist. It is not clear whether this effect is due to blood pressure lowering or whether this is a blood pressure independent effect. The present randomized, double blind study with a cross over design addresses this issue by comparing the effects of losartan and metoprolol on retinal endothelial function in patients with essential hypertension.
