The main objective of this RCT is to compare the efficacy of a powder/water jet prophylaxis device and conventional hand excavation in excavating root surface caries, with regard to restoration survival/success in older adults. The secondary outcome of this RCT is to assess the participants' treatment preferences for the received treatment with regard to the procedures involved and in the invasiveness of the procedures carried out during the ART restoration.

Characterization of the Corneal Biomechanics of Patients Treated by Corneal Lenticule Extraction for Advanced Refractive Correction (CLEAR) to Correct Myopia

This study aims to perform biomechanical tests on extracted CLEAR lenticles that are routinely discarded after surgery. The investigators also aim to perform Brillouin microscopy to get an in-vivo assessment of the patient's cornea preoperatively and to correlate this data with the postoperative characterization of the extracted corneal lenticule. The characterization will be done with established biomechanical and morphologic tests.

Coronary artery disease and myocardial ischemia are among the leading causes of death and disability in the Westerns countries. Timely and accurate diagnosis of myocardial ischemia at the moment of symptom onset is crucial and often delayed. Portable smart medical devices nowadays offers the possibility of ubiquitous self multi-parametric monitoring. Application of such technologies to timely and autonomous detection of myocardial ischemia could be an effective strategy to an earlier and better treatment of symptomatic coronary artery disease. The primary objective is to assess the changes in recorded by the SmartCardia patch (respiratory rate, pulse transit time, heart rate and single ECG trace) during induced ischemia during elective coronary angioplasty procedures. The secondary objective is to asses whether myocardial ischemia can be predicted and quantified by changes in the parameters recorded by SmartCardia patch (respiratory rate, pulse transit time, heart rate and single ECG trace).

The purpose of this study is to test whether severe masticatory muscle spasms during sleep (e.g. teeth clenching and grinding, known as "bruxism" in technical jargon) demonstrably decrease after application of botulinum toxin type A (Xeomin®). Xeomin® has so far been used to relieve spasms of other muscles and is an approved drug in Switzerland. This study is now intended to test the suitability of this drug for relaxation of the masseter muscle.

Evaluation of Post-ERCP Pain as a Predictor for Post-ERCP Pancreatitis

Pancreatitis is the most common complication after ERCP, although its frequency varies significantly depending on the study from < 2% up to 40%. Based upon data from studies that have included unselected patients, post-ercp pancreatitis (PEP) is mild, moderate, and severe in 45%, 44%, and 11% of cases, respectively. Dysfunction of the sphincter Oddi, female gender, younger age, previous history of pancreatitis, prolonged procedure time and pancreatic guidewire passages are well-known independent risk factors for PEP. This study will assess whether the development of PEP can be predicted by Visual analogue scale (VAS) level 1 hour after ERCP.

In spite of the considerable technical difficulties, several publications confirm the potential that T1-maps and MRI to characterize pathological changes in lung tissue. However, existing literature still cannot provide a final evaluation of the presented methods. Study participants won't have any disadvantage in participating the study since all of them undergo next to the MRI-Scan also the two standard methods: CT and lung function test. In this study the value of chest MR compared to CT and LFT in the evaluation of morphological lung changes and their correlation to lung ventilation and perfusion will be evaluated.

Infection Tracking in Travellers. The Project Aims to Identify Profiles of Travel-associated Illness and to Follow up on Long-term Sequelae of Arboviral Infections and Malaria

The investigators hypothesize that sex, age, area of exposure and purpose of travel are associated with different travel-related infections. The investigators also hypothesize that certain infections will have long-term sequelae. Health-data will be collected from travellers from Switzerland and Europe. The project starts with a pilot study for 50 travellers, followed by the recruiting of 10,000 travellers. The data collection will be via a mobile App (ITIT). The ITIT App will collect active data from travellers. The participants will download the App after signing an electronic consent form and completing a baseline questionnaire. Then the travellers will answer a short daily questionnaire about illness symptoms during travel. The ITIT App will also collect passive data (GPS localisation, environmental and weather data). The project will provide real-time data on travel-related infections and profile travel illness by age, sex and purpose of travel and also identify outbreaks.
