NCT ID: NCT06157879 Recruiting - Healthy Clinical Trials

Measuring Electrical Properties of Breast Tissues

Start date: May 27, 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this observational study is to use a low-powered microwave imaging system to provide insight into the correlation of electrical properties of breast tissue at microwave frequencies and breast density obtained from mammograms in healthy women between the ages of 18 and 74. The main questions it aims to answer : • Is there a correlation between the electrical properties of breast tissue and breast density obtained from mammograms? Both breasts of each participant will be scanned by the microwave imaging system six times in total.

NCT ID: NCT06157567 Recruiting - Wrinkle Clinical Trials

Clinical Feasibility Study to Evaluate the Safety and Performance of the Profound Matrix System

Start date: May 24, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This is a non-randomized, multi-center, open-label clinical trial evaluating clinical feasibility treatments with the Profound Matrix system.

NCT ID: NCT06157398 Recruiting - Healthy Individuals Clinical Trials

Diet Intervention Pilot: Refining a Meal and Food Delivery Approach

FIRE-Diet-P
Start date: January 29, 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

A diet with a higher intake of fish and fruits, and vegetables, has shown promise in reducing inflammation and oxidative stress in the body. Intake of a diet with these components has been linked to fewer respiratory symptoms and lower rates of lung disease in multiple studies. In addition, emerging research suggests that a diet with these components may have the power to protect the body against some of the effects of exposure to air pollution. In this study, participants will receive food, meals, and counseling designed to increase their dietary intake of fish, fruits, and vegetables. The research team will test the change in diet and learn ways to optimize the participants' experience.

NCT ID: NCT06156865 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Language Development

Using Neuroimaging and Behavioral Assessments to Understand Late Talking

Start date: January 19, 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Late talkers (LT), representing 10-20% of children under 3, demonstrate hallmark syntax and vocabulary deficits similar to preschoolers with developmental language disorder. While effective and early interventions can mitigate the impact of late talking, not enough is known about its neural basis, yet is needed to inform the design of more individualized interventions. This proposed effort uses neuroimaging, along with behavioral methods, with the goal of better understanding the memory-language mechanisms that underlie learning and late talking, while also considering their association to treatment-related changes in LT.

NCT ID: NCT06156592 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Severe Aortic Valve Stenosis

Post Spinal Hemodynamic Changes in Aortic Stenosis and Mitral Regurgitation by VIS Index and Echocardiography

Start date: November 1, 2023
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This study will assess hemodynamic changes induced after spinal anesthesia by evaluating vasopressor inotropic requirements and variations in echocardiographic parameters in patients having severe aortic stenosis or severe mitral regurgitation undergoing aortic or mitral valve replacement surgery.

NCT ID: NCT06155513 Recruiting - Eczema Clinical Trials

Omega-3 Monoglyceride Based Topic Products as Skin Prebiotics for Eczema

Start date: December 20, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This exploratory study aims to verify the impact on the severity of eczema as well as the prebiotic potential of a daily application of Omega-3 serum and cream on a skin with eczema. This study will also collect data on possible adverse effects of the products. Sixteen participants will be enrolled in this study and will be divided in two groups of 8 subjects that will receive two different treatments for forty-two days. The baseline condition will serve as a control for the effects observed after treatment on the targeted eczema area.

NCT ID: NCT06154369 Recruiting - Depression Clinical Trials

JoyPop Mobile Mental Health App With Post-Secondary Students

Start date: November 22, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Students within post-secondary education settings are experiencing increasing stress, distress, and mental health difficulties. Many post-secondary education settings have identified student mental health and wellbeing as a priority and yet are struggling to adequately meet the needs of students. This has led to exploring whether technology can be used to help promote mental health and wellbeing among students. The JoyPop app is one mobile mental health app with a growing evidence base. It was developed to support improved emotion regulation - a key challenge among students struggling with distress and mental health difficulties. Using a randomized controlled trial (RCT) design, the primary objective of this research is to determine the effectiveness of the JoyPop app in improving emotion regulation among post-secondary students when compared to no intervention. The secondary objectives are to: (1) Assess change in mental health, wellbeing, and resilience between students in each condition to better understand the app's broader impact; (2) Conduct an economic analysis to determine whether receiving the app reduces other health service use and associated costs; (4) Assess students' perspective on the quality of the JoyPop app.

NCT ID: NCT06153693 Recruiting - Hypertension Clinical Trials

Efficacy and Safety of Lorundrostat in Subjects With Uncontrolled and Resistant Hypertension

Start date: November 22, 2023
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This is a Phase 3 trial to evaluate the BP-lowering effect of lorundrostat (an aldosterone synthase inhibitor) in subjects with uncontrolled and resistant hypertension taking between 2 and 5 anti-hypertensive (AHT) medications.

NCT ID: NCT06153485 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Chronic Respiratory Disease

Automated Titration for Home Oxygen Therapy

Start date: December 1, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Patients with chronic respiratory disease may be prescribed oxygen therapy. Currently, the dose of oxygen flow is fixed (FixedO2) depending on activity level i.e. rest, physical activity and sleep. Automated Titration of Oxygen (AutoO2) is a closed-loop system in which the oxygen flow to the patient is continuously machine adjusted to meet the patient's immediate needs on the basis of signals from pulse oximetry (SpO2). The purpose of this study is to examine if automated oxygen control based on pulse oximetry provided to participants is superior to prescribed fixed oxygen flow in keeping SpO2 within the intended target interval of 92 to 96% arterial oxygen saturation.

NCT ID: NCT06153459 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Congenital Heart Disease (CHD)

Cord Clamping Among Neonates With Congenital Heart Disease

CORD-CHD
Start date: December 19, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this clinical trial is to compare 2 different timepoints for clamping the umbilical cord at birth for term-born infants with a prenatal diagnosis of congenital heart disease (CHD). The main questions it aims to answer are: - Does Delayed Cord Clamping at 120 seconds (DCC-120) or Delayed Cord Clamping at 30 seconds (DCC-30) after birth lead to better health outcomes? - Does DCC-120 seconds or DCC-30 seconds after birth lead to better neuromotor outcomes at 22-26 months of infant age (postnatal)? Participants will be asked to do the following: - Participate in either DCC-120 or DCC-30 at birth (randomized assignment). - Complete General Movements Assessment (GMA) at 3-4 months of infant age (postnatal), complete questionnaires / surveys at this time. - Complete questionnaires / surveys at 9-12 months of infant age (postnatal). - Complete Hammersmith Infant Neurological Examination (HINE), Developmental Assessment of Young Children 2 Edition (DAYC-2), and questionnaires / surveys at 22-26 months of infant age (postnatal). - Permit data collection from electronic medical records for both the mother and infant study participants. Investigators will compare DCC-120 vs. DCC-30 to see which approach is more beneficial to both the mother and baby with CHD.
